In this episode I’m struggling at the beginning, to make my way through the woods and collect some nice relics after all. It was everything but easy, fortunately I had my animal friends who guided me in the right direction. The metal detecting boar made plenty of traces that led me to his stash! Was I surprised to find a 1700’s button at his place? Not really, because I know that boars like to hide, or guard artefacts. Unfortunately they also like to chew on them! :D In gives my finds more character!
My second friend, the owl, was sitting in a tree next to me. Too bad I was looking at the ground and didn’t realize it, until she had enough of my detector’s noise and flew away. I took it as a sign, followed the owl and came across a series of finds that resembled gold in various shapes and forms. In the past this sometimes happened to me, shortly before finding real gold. When a round yellowish coin occurred, I was convinced for a moment that it’s gold, but realized quickly that it was too light. The patina of an aluminium “50 Pfennig” coin from the 40’s turned yellow, during golden hour lightning.
I also found a deep item in form of an iron cow bell. It looks very old to me. Could it be medieval, or maybe even Roman?
All in all it was a physically demanding, but very satisfying and memorable outing (at least from my perspective).
I hope you enjoyed it.
Thanks for watching!
