I took my pet chicken to the vet sad ending
So I debated posting this video for a while. The ending isn't a happy one and unfortunately Mel didn't make it 💔. I have always wanted to keep my channel a happy and positive place but I also want to show the realities of life on a farm. After asking you guys what you thought, a lot of you said that I should post. Just a warning... There's a bunch of waterworks at the end 😭. I tried! lol. Thank you for all the love and support 💕

birds hide illness incredibly well to not let others know they're sick so that's probably why you didn't know. I didn't know when one of my beloved budgies was ill until it was too late also. much love and rip to her beautiful soul

I have lost chickens too i know the feeling. I fall in love with their little personalities but nothing lasts forever and sometimes thats heard to except. Rest in peace To all the amazing birds that were so beloved.

i’m so sorry! a couple months my chicken was in a similar condition to mel but we didn’t know what was wrong. she was not doing well and the other chickens were bullying her so we had to put her down. i’m so sorry for your loss!🐓❤️

I am so sorry. My dog died at the age of 13 earlier this year from a cancerous tumour. The connection between humans and animals is unbreakable, I am so sorry that you had to go through this ❤

I lost my two st-Benard pitbull mixes, they were 18 and 20. They were brother and sister. They had to be put down.

My fav dog also died at the age of 13, I believe she had a 5 Tumor like right against her stomach so her stomach got pushed to her spine, you never know when a animal usually have a illness because of nature

My chicken got egg once bound…I dint end well- Edit: another one of my chickens got water belly (it’s like heart failure for chickens) and we had to suck out some water from her stomach and she didn’t survive but we did what we could ❤️ Fly high Lilly and Ozzy and Mal ❤️ (They we also my favorites)

I lost my Easter Egger to egg binding a couple years ago, and recently my little pigeon, it’s heartbreaking losing a pet like that 😞 It honestly makes me glad my other two chickens aren’t laying as much anymore (their 6) and will make me glad when my duck stops laying. I took losing my pigeon probably the hardest, but her loss probably saved her mother’s life because a friend came over with another female a week later and he checked over my birds, her momma had been unwell and I didn’t know what to do and he helped me and confirmed that she wasn’t well, little Shiro, my first pigeon is well again and I am so relieved. His help came too late for my little Asano but I am grateful that Shiro is well again, and the little girl he brought me is a sweetheart whom I named Ameerah. I decided now to keep Shiro in the house permanently cause she has always been happiest with me, so now I need another girl for my second boy 😅

I cried so much, I’m so sorry!! I completely understand what your going through. The same thing happened to my cat, we had him for 16 years and he was perfectly fine one day and the next day he wasn’t, I felt so bad to see him in pain. But I’m so happy he’s in a better place and he’s still with me, him and Mel ❤️❤️ I’m here for you❤️

I’m so sorry Cindy, I had to put my family dog down suddenly back in July. It hurts like crazy at first, but it gets better overtime and you’re able to look back on the good times you had with them rather than the times they won’t be there for. You gave Mel the best life she could’ve had, and I’m sure she appreciates that and that you tried to help her. 💙 We’re all here for you.

Don’t worry. I was bawling at the end of this :( made me think of my duck I used to have :( so sorry for your loss. Pet passings are never easy. But she’ll come back to you! Maybe not as a chicken or maybe not even physically, but you’ll find her all around you! 🙂❤️

I'm so very sorry for your loss! Poor little Mel, rest in peace! Chickens are such incredible creatures. 💚 And I'm glad you left in the parts where the vet explained why they are so prone to reproducive issues and there is really nothing you could have done. It's almost the same as with a lot of horses... since they're flight animals, they often don't show that they're not feeling well until it's too late. And then it does downhill so fast... yeah. Found your channel recently with the painting your horse as a zebra for Halloween video. My mom & I binged your videos from Crystal's pregnancy to now, & we're gonna watch past videos as well. This video hit home, reminded me of my visit to the vet for my dog. Died in January of this year. It was super hard & life changing but I handled it well. I'm so sorry for your loss, Mel seemed like a great chicken. Very sweet & lovey. I can tell she loved you very much & appreciated you for giving her the best life you could give her. Much love 💕

I am so sorry about Mel I know how it feels to lose your pet. I lost my cat 4 years ago who had a kidney infection and I'm glad that I got to spend my life with her. Thank you for being a great youtuber and a great person :)

Just remember you gave that adorable chicken a WONDERFUL life while here on Earth and showed her how much you cared till the last second of her life....and thats all you can really do. She was a BEAUTIFUL chicken and Big Bird...oh my goodness he was adorable as well. So sorry you lost them both 😔

I am so sorry for your loss, I understand how are it is to loss an special pet to you. My cat was attacked by my dog a week ago, and she didn’t make it, and we had to put our dog down to, so I understand how it feels to loss your very special pet to you. I am so sorry for your loss :(

Awww honey if I could give you a hug I would. Just know she will not feel pain anymore and also know that crying is okay when dealing with grief their is no such thing as crying to much. She is in a better place and is not in any more pain I know its hard to loose a pet but it will get better in the long run she would eantyou to be happy and not hurting over her in the long run she also knows you loved her so verymuch and that when yourtime comes you will see her and cross over the bridge together and be forever. R.I.P Mel, I’ve always had a dream of having lots of animals like you, but this is why I’m holding off on it. If one pet of mine dies I would NEVER EVER get over it. But it’s not like they are going to stay forever. It was her time. She would not of passed if god did not need her that bad. We love and miss you Mel, R.I.P

I’ve had chickens since I was 2 so here’s a little theory I have about why it was so sudden: You may already know this, but most animals of prey tend to hide their sickness so they don’t get picked off for being weak. She could have been sick for a long to me and you’d have no clue. They’re very good at hiding it until the last minute where you’ll most likely be too late. Thats probably the reason why it just seemed to appear out of no where. I’m very sorry for your loss, it’s super hard to loose pets, especially chickens because they’re such a common prey. Hope things get better :)

I have had to bury so many of my chickns that this really hit me hard. I have never cried so much watching any video. People say that because it is JUST a chicken it is dumb to act that way, but they are still part of the family. and you still love them.

Sorry for your loss I’ve had chickens for about 12 years and have last a few to egg yolk peritonitis it’s awful Seems like the favourites get sick I miss my favourite ladies but have some lovely photos and memories I always say if I hadn’t had them they would have been in a laying facility or someone’s plate so I know they had a good life sending peace and love from Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🥰🥰

I am so sorry to here about Mel... I live on a farm with goats and chickens, and I have lost so many chickens and goats through out the farm life. I lost my baby goat that I nursed back to health by a coyote. It breaks my heart to see what your going through. Hope you feel better.

many people may think oh its just a chicken which i had the exact same problem with my chicken lilly who was a red hen like mel died of a heart attack because she could not lay her egg in the middle of the night and i had her for only a year and when you get to know a chicken and bond with them its like owning a cat or a dog its the same feeling when you loose them and sadly happy things always come to an end and i hope that you are ok and just remember she had a great life and im sure you will cherish her in your heart

I'm so sorry. I've never had a chicken, but i had a parakeet that died like 5 months ago and it's not easy. I think you already know it's not easy considering how many pets you have. Just know that she will always be with you and it was best for her.

That is so sad i have had chickens before and there was one that everyone loved but she died because someting riped her head off, so i know the feeling so i am so sorry for you but at least she is hanging out with Big Bird and Mal and him are probably are having a good time also she is still with her in your heart.
