I Travelled On MegaBus To See If It's Really That Bad.. (MegaBus Review) 

Super vid as always and to let you know of my megabus horrors: in 2014 I used a megabus from London to Glasgow and as soon as we left for Glasgow the driver announced he only had half a tank of Diesel and he could not top up as someone else had the fuel card and no stop was made en route :O Edgy AF is the only summary

You sat on the last row of seating and complained that your seat (that was against the back wall) didn't recline, and that while sitting directly over the rear wheels of the bus, that it was bumpy. You brought all of that on yourself.

I’ve just come back from a weekend in London travelled there and back from Newcastle on megabus and my experience was nowhere near as bad as I expected, I booked a seat in the middle of the coach for an extra £2 and for a 7 hour journey, the legroom and the recline was actually a lot better than the non reserved seats at the back, Well worth forking out the extra 2 quid😂

There’s an overhang at the back from the rear wheels of course it’ll feel bumpy, try sitting closer to the middle of the coach.

My friends took Megabus in the states to go one over and their bus broke down. The other friend who left later than them her bus also showed up late.

Great Video there dude really enjoyed it! Keep It Up! Will you by any chance be giving Flixbus a go at somepoint if it's operating your way? As have seen a few other review videos recently about them where it looks like the uploader of said reviews have been paid by Flixbus to do a review on their behalf and as such give them praise to increase their profile, however it would be nice to see a straight down the middle review about them and the routes they operate so we can finally find out if for example they are helpful towards Disabled Passengers, If their facilities on board their coaches are acceptable and if they really are a Good, Viable and Ultimately Cheaper Alternative to National Express & Megabus etc..

Well, I travelled earlier this month on a Megabus, and it was spot on time and early. Only had the charging ports not working but that's a minor thing

As a former Nat Express driver, I Personally had to cover a lot of Megabus work as they didn't turn up. 1 incident the Megabus was checked over by Highways and was taken out of service. I worked for a coach firm that had Nat Express and norman coaches. We were called out to continue the journey with a double-deck coach. Passengers understood that it wasn't my fault. 5 hours late they was.

After seeing a gig in Bristol the midnight Megabus to Cardiff didn't turn up and i had no money to get me home, I wasn't expecting it not to turn up as i been to Bristol quite a few times to see gigs. After waiting 2hours a Megabus did turn up with sign saying Cardiff on it, only for the woman driver telling me and 3 other passengers that she has finished her shift and is not going to Cardiff. When i asked her "Where' this coach going then"? She said Cwmbran. I'd rather be stuck in Cwmbran than stuck in Bristol with no money. At least I'm in Wales. What if i waited another 4/5 hours for the next coach and the driver won't let me on? Anyway the woman driver decided to take us to Cardiff even though she shouldn't have, which was nice of her, but i wonder if she would if it was only me at that stop.

The reason it was bumpy is because you were at the back. The further down the coach, the bumpier it is, if you were at the front it would be incredibly smooth.

Love the vid. They have Usually been ok when I have used them. Once they broke down and we had to switch coaches but they was fairly quick. They were once four hours late due to a major crash on the M6 but they still managed to arrive eventually and set off again with only me on the bus. £2.50 from Manchester to Bristol was bargain of the decade. I am trying our their night bus in June where I have booked extra leg room for £2. Going down to National Express so will be able to compare.

This is a real good view. I use megabus nearly every month to travel home. Ive only ever had 2 delays and my only issue was the lack of information from the second party provider. In my view the seats are somewhat sparse in line with the national express seats. In fact some megabuses used to be national express coaches. Staff are always very friendly and will go out tgeir way to facilitate any questions or support. I will continue to use them regardless but maybe not on a very long journey

I used to travel from Aberdeen to London back in 2017 when they used to have direct journey, and buses were very reliable due to Scottish control over Megabus

What camera do you use?

Bit late about around the same time 1-2 years ago i was making the journey from FInchley road- Nottingham, The bus A) didnt show up or B) Came as a contracted coach. Thankfully national express let everybody on their coach to nottingham

I've travelled on megabus from Birmingham to Manchester and back a few times but it wasnt all bad. The coach was on time and we got there quicker than expected and was cheap but the seats could be more comfy tho but in my experience it was good not excellent but good (my last trip with mega was in 2019)

I do a return mega bus trip atleast once a month Sunderland to Cardiff with a change at London Victoria. There’s been a few times where I’ve had issues of having reserved seats and then a smaller coach turns up but with one email I was refunded. There’s only been twice that a bus has “broken down” or been rendered unsafe for use. Honestly the trip to Cardiff and back only costs me between £40 and £80 which is a lot better than the trains where I have about 10 changes and 9 hour transfer times for £250. My only complaint is how long it takes which in all fairness is understandable for the distance, with the transfer it works out to be around 600 miles. If I could drive it would only take me 7/8 hours without stopping since I get the train from Cardiff further into wales. But being stuck on a bus for more than a few hours is always going to be unpleasant but I do it for 20 ish hours at a time and have done for the past 4 years so I honestly recommend it to company’s like national express solely because of price and I recommend it over companies like flixbus because even their drivers have told me how they shaft their own customers

I travelled on Megabus from Leeds to London a few weeks back and I didn’t have a problem with it at all. One thing I don’t get is that they still use coaches regularly from 2012, I didn’t check out the loo as I’ve been put off by coach toilets after an experience on a FlixBus Coach

I used to get the Megabus all the time.. I'd hate it when I had to sit next to a randomer.. cos I'd always get really tired and be doozing off then getting a fright and waking up.. must of looked a right Muppet haha and the harder I'd try stay awake the more I would slip off..

Hi That was a great video and a review on Mega Bus. Its not good to have no soap and water on a long bus journey. I could see how fed up you all looked.

I've traveled on megabus a few times between Newcastle and Sheffield and it's been good only bad thing is the toilets stink !!! Great video guys.

Megabus was great for £1 but i prefere national express or train my journey was long and all on time but no leg room and bus was not the best journey thanks for video john

Well I have travelled with megabus from Newcastle I never had any problem with them yes did travel to London on the overnight megabus and the comfort of the sets are OK and there on time some of the time but that can't be help

I travel on both Megabus and National Express quite regularly. I've had no problem with either. They're much cheaper than the train and as long as you're not in a rush they're good value for money.

It was bad that the bus turned up an hour late because only half of the people who were meant to get on the coach at notts actually got on but we live

I find Megabus okay but I am a smaller than average bloke (5'4", and about120-ish lbs)) so find the seats quite roomy. I don't know how it would be if you had longer legs, or were bigger!

The bus was an hour late? Good thing you didn't have to be at work! I'm assuming there's other transportation to get around, so my question is: why is the MegaBus 'making travel simple' still in business if there are many complaints? Thanks for posting, Logan.

With Flixbus I've only used them once and first bus didn't turn up but they put me on the next for free n refunded me (or not refund but money off next trip). Never used megabus but will make sure I'm not on a timeframe if I do NX is the best but then cos I've used them loads I know they're reliable and have enough for comfortable journey

Your coffees probably cost more than your ticket! I saw these advertised whilst I was at uni 20 years ago. Always wondered what the megabus journey would be like! 🙂

Sitting in the very rear seat doesn't recline due to the engine behind you. Nice & warm in the winter tho'.

Don't forget, if you're under 26 you can get a big third off all train fares AND IN ADDITION you can get a very cheap advance ticket, so that's a double discount. How many drinks and snacks did you buy while waiting and also travelling in the Megabus? All that has to be added on to the actual cost of your ticket.!

Megabus in America is a bit better, but not much. The bus showed up 20 mins late despite departing at 6:20 am, seats sucked, and there wasn’t any wifi. I did not check out the bathroom, so I don’t know how that was. But I can say that my return trip with Amtrak was much better.

I traveled with Megabus yesterday and I was very satisfied arrived earlier than scheduled.

We learned that Megabus are exactly what they expected. And He can't lie

There was a bottle of soap next to the toilet and you didn’t try the water button which is lower down. And it was probably an hour late because of traffic, you saw it yourself. No coach company can control the traffic. 🤦🏼‍♀️

I am sorry that you found the Megabus so disappointing. Obviously Megabus are owned by Stagecoach and I think that they may have even been taken over by National Express since the time of your vlog. I personally can't really comment too much as I have never really had any reason to use Megabus but I have used Stagecoach for a great many journeys and generally found them to be quite satisfactory. I have often thought that the quality of their vehicles and service better than some of their competitors (I am thinking of the First Group - who's vehicles I thought were very dated).

Megabus isn't nearly that bad in my opinion and experience. Timekeeping can be a problem but the rest is okay. All the coaches are the same. WiFi doesn't work on hardly any of them. They should stop advertising that service. I've not heard of curtains on national express coaches either.

Never had any problem with them - but I just had 2 rides so far.

Lmao I stopped using them when I realised the train could do the journey in half the time. I now call this company megaslow!!

I've been on the Megabus in Canada, and relative to what you've shared about your experience in the UK, I have to say that Megabus is so much worse in Canada. They're never on time, wifi never works, staff are extremely rude, and the seats are far worse than the ironing board seats you'd see on Thameslink. Thameslink looks like a luxury service when it's compared to Megabus. Worse of all, you'd never see $1 tickets on Megabus routes in Canada. Montreal to Toronto, a route about as long as London to Edinburgh, costs about the same as a flight, in which case the flight is so much quicker, and that Air Canada delivers a far superior service in comparison. The flights between Montreal and Toronto are only about an hour long and is extremely popular for university students and business travellers; the bus ride takes 7 hours without traffic, could easily be up to 9 hours if there is a lot of traffic.

National express is better

Flixbus are worse 100 times worse filthy dirty coach when arrived and 3 hours late never again

From the States, megabus is pretty decent in my experience. Nothing like what you experienced and i have done about 10 trips. I rate land travel this way. 1. Amtrak 2. Megabus 3. Sharing the bed of an old pickup truck with goats, pigs, chickens, rats and roaches 4. Greyhound bus just feel blessed you never have to catch a greyhound bus! lol

I bet you did not pay much, and your cannot blame the coach driver for traffic.
