PIZZA DOUGH RECIPE
(WHAT YOU NEED)
1 1/4 cup warm water
1 pack quick rise or pizza yeast
1 tbsp honey, melted
1 tbsp olive oil (for dough)
1 tbsp olive oil (for baking)
1 tsp salt
3 cups all purpose or pizza flour
(WHAT TO DO)
1-In a large bowl, combine warm water, yeast, honey, and olive oil (for dough). Let sit for 10 minutes until foamy.
2-Add salt, then gradually shake in flour, mixing with a spoon or spatula until the dough starts to take form. The dough will start sticky, then start to take form once you get to about 2 cups of flour. For the remaining cup, knead it in with your hands until no dry patches remain.
3-Cover bowl with a towel and let rise at room temperature for at least 15 minutes, but preferably 1-2 hours at room temp or overnight in the fridge.
4-Once risen, roll the dough out and brush with remaining olive oil (for baking). Bake at 450F for 7-9 minutes or until crust is cooked through and starting to bubble / turn golden brown.
5-Remove from oven and top as desired before baking for another 5-10 minutes and serving!

MARINARA SAUCE RECIPE
(WHAT YOU NEED)
2 tbsp olive oil
1 cup onion, diced
1/2 cup carrot, grated
3 tsp garlic, minced
1/4 cup basil, fresh (or 2 tbsp dried)
1 x 28 oz can crushed tomatoes
2 tbsp tomato paste
1 tbsp sugar (optional)
1/2 cup water
Salt and pepper, as desired
(WHAT TO DO)
1-Heat a large pot over medium-low heat. Add olive oil, onion, carrot, and garlic. Cooking until onions just soft.
2-Add crushed tomatoes, then stir in remaining ingredients.
3-Raise to a boil, then reduce heat to low and let simmer until sauce has thickened.
4-Transfer from pot to blender, blending to desired smoothness then serve immediately or store for later.

Something that helped me a lot is not eating for atleast 3 hours after meals. So breakfast, 3 or 4 hour break, lunch, 3 or four hour break, a snack, 3 hour break and dinner, than again a 3 hour break before taking a last and final snack of the day. This is what personally helped me and changed my health.

For me it is the opposite. I need more and small meals throughout the day but the most important thing is to chew them REALLY well.

@@thenailpolishbottle7267 Yeah, I can't even eat a lot of fat or drink soda because my issues are so damn bad. (irritable bowel syndrome) Also I have to remind myself to calm down throughout the day a lot because stress is a HUGE thing for me. It got so bad at times I got intestinal colic. It's hell.

Speaking from my personal experience, I cut out all artificial sugars: erythritol, stevia, Sucralose... and I switched to coconut sugar and maple syrup. Obviously I was exercising regularly and drinking plenty of water. After a while my gut was like being reset and now I consume small amount of artificial sweetener, garlic, cauliflower etc without feeling bloated.

Thank you for posting this!!!! I was drinking Zevia which is all stevia soda and i felt like i was bloating hard, but wasn't finding info on it. Everywhere is saying stevia is good for you. I'm gonna drop it and see what happens. And other weird sugars.

I bloated for most of my life, last year it got worst with gases included, then the doctor told me I was gluten and lactose intolerant. The diet didn’t fix it completely and then I realized that maybe it was the stress and anxiety we were exposed to because of the pandemic. I still watch my diet but the less I think or worry about it the better I feel !

I don’t care what the studies say, I’ve been shooting ACV after large meals and before bed for years and it has greatly improved my digestion speed and just digestion as a whole (it even helps my husbands heartburn!) you’ve got to chase it though!!!! 😝

I have IBS which means I am bloated very frequently, I have a super limited diet, and I’ve tried just about every bloating solution in existence. the literal ONLY thing that has ever given me results is drugstore charcoal tablets taken with cold water right after a meal, not after the symptoms have appeared. Also digestive enzymes help me with tough to digest foods like steak. Good luck bloated babies!!

Whenever I’m constipated, I go on my rebounder and jump up and down while I twist my body back and forth. After 10 min I’m running to the toilet 😀

I have had good experiences with ACV, but you really shouldn’t take something that acidic as a shot. It needs to be watered down in a drink or added to another drink, otherwise you’re probably going to get negative effects from all the acidity.

I don't know how true this is, but in a book I read called "Good gut healing" she states that it depends on whether you have too much acidity in your system or too little - and that both can cause digestion and have the same symptoms and problems. She says this is why some find ACV to help with things like acid reflux and bloating while it worsens it in others.

I find I've got an easier time losing weight when drinking apple cider vinegar... Never reflected on bloating though 🤔 However, the acv has to be diluted in half a litre of water not to burn your innards and I think whats causing the weight loss might as well be a lack of appetite from the sour taste and slight "catarrhic" feeling, so not something to promote perhaps 😅

Dairy typically makes you bloat - cheese, milk. Onions, garlic, veggies make you bloat once they digest. Carbonated beverages will make you bloat! Too much sugar in one sitting will make you bloat. Also, generally, if you do not eat when you get your hunger cues but you eat some time after, you will probably bloat because of the gas that formed when you were hungry & didn't eat on time. Feels like everything makes you bloat! But just try eat on time (aka when your body tells you you're hungry) and avoid eating anything in excess. Hope that helps! P.S. For those of you suffering with "real" digestive issues even in spite of changing up your diet, try to take a moderately paced 10 minute walk immediately after eating a meal. Just literally go outside and walk for 10 mins after you eat. That will help aid digestion.

Betaine HCL and ginger are great for bloat, but ginger stops it dead. Vinegar can help, but ginger is superior and tastes better. If you're retaining water increase and balance your sodium and potassium intake. If you're bloated after a meal it's a lack of sufficient stomach acid. Sodium and potassium will help that, too.

L-glutamine helps repair intestinal walls by giving intestinal and immune cells energy. It also helps stop cravings for sweets and alcohol. Julia Ross writes about it in her book called The Diet Cure.

i used to be a regular marijuana smoker and that made my digestion work splendidly. fast forward some years i developed panic disorder and now marijuana makes me paranoid plus it's prohibitively expensive these days so i don't do it (don't like being dependent anyway). i tried various cbd products but they didn't work straight up made no difference at all. since then i've tried everything under the sun to deal with bloating and sluggish digestion in addition to frequent heartburn and nothing makes any difference. my gut is ridiculously sensitive and seems to enjoy causing me grief. i also hold TONS of mental/emotional trauma in my gut area which must be a factor. this vid, however, def. gave me some new insights and a few ideas so thank you.

I love watching this while I’m about the same weeks pregnant now as you were at the time of posting this; meanwhile you didn’t know you were pregnant! Gas, bloating, nausea, fatigue - ALL of the things. Hormones are a b***h. Luckily diet and exercise are still helpful despite being pregnant or not.

Going clean keto cured my severe bloating. Basically just meat, cheese, and low carb vegetables, except tomatoes, which don't just bloat me but cause water retention. Before going keto I bloated so badly that I looked 9 months pregnant and would have pain in my back and shoulders and was basically too uncomfortable to even sit up. I tried everything, literally everything, and no luck. I went keto in October and I don't bloat like that other than the two days I allowed myself to eat high carb foods.

If you are sensitive to latex or bananas, I really do not recommend taking digestive enzymes or really doing your research. I have a latex allergy and banana intolerance and started taking digestive enzymes and slowly broke out into painful itchy hives all over my body that lasted for 2 months. Turns out the digestive enzymes had latex fruit derivatives in it! 😬

I think the main point why people say to take apple cider vinegar is its gut health/bacteria growth that supposed to help with mood and overall the benefit of fermented foods like yogurt, kimchi, apple cider is fermented apple. Which in turn helps food be "digested" or better digestion, the thing is people don't understand that a vitamin c pill can help to better absorb food after eating, or just the vitamins that best correlate with each other. For instance, alcoholics will have low levels of vitamin C due to the fact they urinate so much and let out vit C. Overall, vitamin C helps better absorb non heme iron which is greens.

Abby, I would love if you did more videos on gut health. I know how important science tells us it is for weightloss and just mental, physical health in general. I eat gut healthy foods everyday but I recently started taking Vital Proteins Collagen and it makes me run to the bathroom every morning. I'm clueless if this is a good or bad thing. Some "prebiotics" are fodmaps. Chicory root (or Jerusalem artichoke, inulin), FOS, GOS for example. I had huge issues with several probiotics only to find the included prebiotics were actually high fodmap.

I drink chamomile tea if a food upsets me. And it doesn't make me poo right away, lol. Can make you drowsy.... but not always... I'm sure the hot water helps, too. Very insightful video... you can even have chamomile during pregnancy as long as you only drink about a teaspoon in a cup of water... I'm a herbalist.... most of my health remedies are from herbs, but exercise is definitely a perfect way to get that gut moving. Walking saved me during my first trimester...

I'm only 2 minutes in but I hope she mentions abdominal massages for this (that you can do yourself at home). I learnt how to do these and they changed my life. No more pain :') Edit: 10 minutes in and YAY. Though I'm confused because that's the complete wrong way to do it from what my doctor friend taught me (anti-clockwise vs clockwise🤔?). Start at the right hip and go clockwise, going up to your ribs, across, down to your left hip and round that way. Rather than in fluid circles a more kneady approach (think bread) works, doing a spot, moving, doing a spot and so on. You can literally feel the gas that's causing the pressure shift to make its way out. The other way and I just guess you're pushing it further in or something? 😄

@@maja__5047 Not necessarily! Those who have IBS-C should be really careful of eating beans or fiberous veggies and we've been pushed fiber SO much more than we should. I didn't know until the last year that having many fruits and veggies are actually *terrible* for me when I'm in a flare and in a lot of pain.

Just tried the apple cider vinegar. I finally read to add it to water and not do shots as the acidity can cause damage to your esophagus. Did the shot yesterday and hated life. Tried 1 tbsp in a large shaker today and was tolerable. The belly massage is what you would do with infants to help get gas out. Also knees to chest. So if the bloat is from gas it could be helpful.

I am suffering so badly at the moment to the point where I am in constant pain. I can't eat anything without pain and have a distended stomach. This happens irrespective of what I eat and drinking water does nothing!

Whenever I eat unhealthy my belly is flat....veggies and fruits make me bloat. But I feel to unhealthy if i don't eat much fibre 😅

Love this so much! Love the research and scientific method of experimentation behind this so thank you for that 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 Also side note: have you considered if your digestion issues could be IBS? Because I’ve had much of the same issues you talked about with many of the same foods that I used to be able to eat. It started with development of lactose intolerance then progressed to more and more foods so I tried the low FODMAP diet and found that some of the low FODMAP foods triggered symptoms while some of the higher FODMAP foods were fine and I tried all the “digestion fixes” and stuff until I realized that, aside from dairy, most of my issues were more related to fiber content and I finally talked to my dr about it and he said it was likely IBS, especially since it runs in my family, and he put me on some IBS meds and that finally improved my symptoms tremendously. And while my IBS triggers were mostly high fiber healthy foods in addition to dairy, my mom has it and her triggers are more high fat, oily things, and other people’s are more of just the high FODMAP foods, so not everyone’s triggers are the same. But if there’s a somewhat wide range of foods that do trigger digestive issues, IBS could be a possible explanation. So it might be worth talking to your dr about if you haven’t already and it might mean you could be able to eat some of those trigger foods again without the discomfort. Just a thought based on my experience. But you do you. You know your body best

Have you looked into digestive enzymes with bile (since our GB stores and concentrates our bile from the liver, this can help you digest fats better)? NOW has one called Super enzymes that I love. I got my GB out when I was 17 and it took me 10 plus years to figure out how to eat/supplements/etc because nobody had answers for me. I hope you find some relief!

@@michellebeebelewisfrith1544 I use “Now Foods Super Enzymes”. Had my GB removed over 10 years ago and it has been a journey. Enzymes, really good probiotics, eating mostly fruits, cooked vegetables and protein, & also drinking tons of water has helped.

I see hack Magnesium glycinate hasn't made the list. this one is great as it fills the intestines with water and definitely gets things moving. The same goes for Peppermint Tea that softens the stools :) and relief the pressure inside the gut

I use to have extreme bloating, to the point that my skin was tight and gut felt like rock if you pushed on it, at least 90% of the time. Turns out I had SIBO. Doc says I was poster child for it, worst he ever saw. The bacteria was throughout small intestine and even into my stomach. The irony that for years I took enzymes, probiotics, and restricted my food, to learn it was actually antibiotics I needed.

I have constipation, sometimes diarrhea, irregular bowel movements, bloating, and the list of issues go on. And for 24/7 everyday since 2018-today. Caused by being malnourished and tons of stress before and after recovery of anorexia and binge eating. From 13-19years old. And root cause, family problems and focusing on how i look.

I don't know if this counts as a fix but I also like heating up a rice bag & putting it on my stomach! I'd assume the mechanism involves promoting blood flow to the gut which can help but I am not the scientist here. Thanks for another great video Abby!

I love more videos like this! I am on a hit health journey right now. Hard to explain in one comment lol. But I do take probiotics digestive enzymes fiber abs eat as much Whole Foods as possible. I have gluten and dairy sensitivity. I also have no gallbladder so I don’t grease foods and stay way from processed foods and sugar as much as possible!

Sounds like you may be gluten intolerant (who isn't in America with our contaminated GMO wheat crops) as well as sensitive to nightshades, tomatoes. I'll state the obvious and say maybe just avoid those so you don't have to go through the bloat? But I get it it's a video on what to do when you do get bloated. TBS of ground ginger mixed in a glass of water or activated charcoal are the only things that works for me. Overall, a very informative video, Abby! Thanks.

ur not supposed to take apple cider vinegar straight and it looks like u took too much all at once which is probably why u got that burning feeling. i take apple cider vinegar occasionally (like 1 tbsp) and if i don't dilute it in enough water yea it burns

I don't think it's a good idea to drink apple cider vinegar by itself. It would be better with water. If on an empty stomach then you add a table spoon of honey to the cup of water with apple cider vinegar. I personally think apple cider by itself may cause an ulcer after taking it for a long time. But, thank you for all of the information you shared, I did learn alot.

I love apple cider vinegar for my allergies. My allergies get so bad that I take so many allergy medications I'm surprised I still have a functioning liver or haven't died from an overdose. But in high school I heard acv could help. While it isn't a cure it cut my medication intake by half. And definitely need a chaser for acv.

Is it SIBO that's causing your bloat? Trying a FODMAP diet might help. I went the elemental diet for 18 days to deal with my SIBO. It reduced but did not eliminate symptoms. I am considering trying again as nothing else has made such a difference.
