Former Burger King "Team Member" here. Our district had franchises competing against each other to see which one could offer the fastest service possible. 90% of the food we made was botched on arrival simply because we had to move fast and throw them together; we usually forgot to even pick the shaker up to put seasoning on the burgers, it was that chaotic. Corporate was fucking useless, too - it nearly took them 3 weeks to acknowledge a pipe leak that threatened our dry storage, and another week to get it repaired. And yes, the Ch'King was our best menu item just by the grace of the chicken being freshly hand-breaded twice by an employee before deep-fried. The breading was the one thing not frozen.

I've recently learned just how spoiled the local Burger King made me. For many years, they would be my go-to for fast food, and I never understood the BK hate until I tried other places. It's WILD how different the same line of stuff can taste between different establishments. My place even seasons the fries right! It's almost as if they are forced to taste their own food lol.

My grandfather, who died at 96 years old, used to take my sister and I to burger king now and then. I was a small child at the time, but it's super memorable. Core memories. It was a treat for him more than us, but we got to hang out with our grandpa, get some fast food, and get a toy. Since those days I've had it once and it was fine. Not something I'm actively seeking out, but I wouldn't pass it up if someone put it in front of me at lunch time.

As someone who used to work at Burger King, I can explain why half or more of these food items are kinda shitty as best I can. It is because we have a hold time of 5 days instead of the usual standard of 1-3 days for literally anything. And we are also told that we have a drive through hold time of 3 minutes or less, which forces the managers and older cashiers like myself, I was 25, now I'm 26, to essentially do the work of 2 people, alongside kids that basically have the labor output of one whole worker for 2 people. These places also suffer from heavy mismanagement. When we were shortstaffed, instead of rewarding me or just... letting me stay a cashier there and hire more drive through and kitchen workers, they responded by hiring more children and defecting me to the drive-through to take orders, and then lessened the shifts from a whole week for me to like 3 days per week to compensate for the extra labor. This place was the final push I needed to use my 4-8 years of customer service experience to get a good work at home job and a nice apartment. I quit. P.S.: I will never eat the Impossible Whopper simply because from the back it smells like it came out of a garbage can.

I live in canada and the burger king near me has like the absolute best manager. He makes sure his staff cooks up the food properly while also making them look like gourmet burgers. Dude has like 5 restaurant awards on the wall and he deserves every single one of them 😁

I remember a brief period of loving BK because there was one inside the book store on the college campus I went to, and every time I went there the food was really fresh and made well. Then the second I went to a BK that wasnt that one it was awful. I realized that BK on campus was special because the food was actually good.

Burger King is really dependent on what location people are ordering from. The location I have is actually really good. The customer service is pretty good, with the staff members not always wanting to kill themselves. And the bacon/stacker king is my favorite thing to order from there.

Burger King is a HUGE hit or miss. The burger king by me has the original chicken sandwich and its one of my favorite fast food sandwiches especially since theres usually a coupon for 2 of them and 2 small fries for 4$. But then you go to the next one over and they serve an undercooked patty on a bun burnt so bad you wonder how it even ended up so burnt without the whole building burning down too.

The funniest shit when watching this video, for me, was getting a fucking Burger King midroll ad. Charlie finishes nearly vomiting a burger and the ad plays, made my day.

Also a former BK employee. I was one of the top line cooks...i am a firm believer and holder of this hot take. FRESH food from BK, Is tasty. The flame broiled beef patties are relatively good quality and the hand breaded chicken is a staple. The onion rings are almost instantly addicting as well. Those items, as well as the majority of the breakfast menu are tasty. I won't try to gas up nuggies, fries, jalapeno poppers or mozzarella sticks. Those are undeniably garbage. But hey, you won't be disappointed when you order a whopper and milkshake. The ice cream was good quality and the shake machine miraculously worked through the day 🤣 TLDR: certain aspects of BK are appealing, but if DQ is an option, it's obvious that the queen will take better care of you.

I stand by this: The Chking was one of the best chicken sandwiches (yes even compared to the Popeyes). Once BK noticed they had a good item they promptly discontinued it so as not to tarnish their sterling reputation as the shittiest fast food restaurant

What is so bizzare for me is the fact that fast food restaurants differ so much regarding what country it is in. Here where I live, in poland, every item in the fast food menu has so much flavour, not really restaurant level but still it is so much tastier compared to countries located more towards the west (like spain, portugal, france)

There are approximately 11 burger king location in my country, and I have the misfortune of eating at one of the locations because I was curious. I would much rather let the employees spit in my mouth to wash-out what I have subjected myself through that day.

Two of my cousins and a friend worked at McDonald's. I worked at Arctic Circle, Dairy Queen, and Burger King. They don't use the same food at all (Burger King and McDonald's), but a lot of places order their generic items (e.g., ice cream, soda, fries, etc.) from Sysco Foods. Also, everything is rock hard from Burger King because they cook it and then, after it's already done, nuke it in a super powerful microwave for ten seconds. Makes the buns turn rock-hard after they cool off.
