@@Jaxrayh Yeah I agree. I used to kind of like their chicken tenders until I got sick once shortly after eating them and now I don’t. But even when I did like them, I didn’t think they were anything special. Much better off ordering something else there
I worked at Arby’s 10 years ago and I’m glad to see they’ve done nothing to improve their rubber patties. I’ve had that chicken sandwich fresh out of the fryer and it was still borderline unchewable.
As it should ... No clue what they do to make it so good, the bread is good, the breading on the chicken is amazing, crispy and moist (pun intended), even the pickles are good (which is my major critique of Chick-fil-A).
This video made me immediately order a Popeye's chicken sandwich for the first time. Will let you know if it tastes as good as Charlie and Matt make it seem EDIT: 11/10. Absolutely delicious. Love the sauce in it. The breading is flaky, but not too crunchy, the chicken is moist, and nice and thick. Found my new favorite chicken sandwich!
I want to try it so bad, and there's a Popeyes like 10 minutes from me, but the customer service is so shit it's unbearable. I was in a line with 5 cars for an hour before I drove away. And according to reviews, even if you do order, they always have you pull up, take another half an hour, and half the time you have to go back in and ask about it, and they'll tell you they "forgot" your order.
I cannot stress enough how ADDICTED I am to the Popeyes sandwich. The employees know me well enough at this point that they often give me a little discount AND they give me the BIGGEST PATTIES in the sandwiches. The sandwich is just so good
@@ElectricSerenade I don’t think there’s a set number, I just have gone there enough for long enough that I have a good relationship with the employees
I love how Matt cuts the sandwiches. Puts the fork in it, completely ignores the fork, and holds the sandwich still with his bare hand while cutting with the other
@@sneaky3384 but normal mofos use the fork to hold it still then go in between the fork to cut. not use the fork then man handle the sandwich anyways, lol
The Ch'King sandwich was actually different than BK's normal chicken sandwich. I don't know if BK still makes them, but the Ch'King had no business being as good as it was from Burger King, of all places. That was an easy A-tier chicken sandwich.
They did sell the Ch’King in the states in fact I ate it multiple times. Although I am a Popeyes fanatic and nobody can topple Popeyes, the Ch’King from Burger King not only came in close second but it also rivaled the size of the chicken breast from Popeyes and the sauce that was placed on both sandwiches
The Ch'King was genuinely so good that the company that owns BK discontinued it because they didn't want to take the spotlight from Popeyes (a brand they also own), and because they thought that because it's called "Burger" King, they didn't want to overshadow the burgers. One time I went to a BK and they said they were out of Ch'Kings, so they gave me the Original Chicken sandwich for free and it was probably the most disgusting chicken sandwich I've ever had. I'm surprised it wasn't F tier for them. I think I might've preferred nothing, it reminded me of gross high school chicken sandwiches.
@UCAwxTMc9dhsv_Kq60MTUQnw It’s not losing money if more people want to keep killing each other for their other money making brand lol. To be more specific, they wanted to just keep pushing the Whopper instead. Also this is BK we're talking about. If they made good decisions, they'd make cheesy tots a mainstay instead of randomly cutting them from their menu.
When I first tried the chicken sandwich from Popeyes, the first thought that came to mind was "Damn, I see why people were killing eachother over this sandwich"
Working at arby's i can safely say just depends where you go. I always make sure to have everything extra fresh, everything thoroughly cooked and extra stuff. If you have people who actually care their chicken is some of the best i've ever tasted
As someone who works at PDQ, this was not our best showing and I deeply apologize for the underperformance from a restaurant and a people dedicated to quality. I will do everything in my power to make sure every PDQ in Florida knows what happened here and ensure it never happens again
The Burger King Chiking DID exist, and it was one of the best chicken sandwiches I ever had, although it still wasn’t as good as Popeyes. For some reason they stopped selling it
disagree but it was close imo i think the chking was the best ive ever ate for chicken sandwiches and ive had popeyes many times but id put popeyes at second but first now cuz the chking is gone sadly both are damn good tho and the best by far
As a former Chick-fil-A employee, I could not eat the chicken sandwiches everyday, and till this day I refuse to ever eat them again. But holy shit, the Popeyes chicken sandwich’s are so damn good, I’ve ordered from there even when I was working at Chick-fil-A, a place I could get free sandwich’s from. But I still went for Popeyes, it’s just an amazing cheap sandwich
I don't know man but the chick fil a sandvich here in Colorado is the God of all sandwiches. Popeyes over here is.. It's from Satan. The chicken sandwiches from Popeyes here have more grease than chicken for gods sake.
As a current Chick-fil-A employee, our chicken sandwich does get tiring after a while. I've never tried Popeyes' chicken sandwich, so maybe I need to try that.
Chick fil A is easily more consistent with better presentation and the waffle fries are great. Popeyes is too inconsistent to truly get an S tier. It goes from C to S easily just from location alone. And the employees at Popeyes can be insane in the head
I feel vindicated. I absolutely rolled my eyes when the Popeyes sandwich hype started but when I finally had one I was like, guys why did you let me go this long without eating one of these? They are life changing.
chickfila is better and here's why. If u order the spicy like I always do Popeyes uses a spicy mayo and chickfila has it in the breading, I dont like mayo and popeys has no excuse because the spicy tenders have the spicy in the breading. If popeys had spicy breading it would be a close competetion for chickfila if popeys resturant ran like the chickfila in my area.
my fav chicken sandwich is surprisingly where i work. Chilis crispy chicken sandwich, sub out crispy batter for original batter, add pickles. So in the end it’s a tempura like breading, sauce like chick-fil-a sauce, tomato, lettuce, pickles, on a brioche bun 🫶🫶🫶
when i saw the servpro pen, i got nostalgia from the moments when my father took me to mcdonalds but he had to do something at a place, but everyone he knew was asleep or busy. He took a quick drive to the workplace and let one of the front desk workers watch me for a couple minutes.
Literally got up from my chair, walked to my car, and drove to Popeyes right after the Popeyes review. Watching the rest of this on the way to Popeyes right now. Update: truly a blessing. My lips have never been more graced than by the touch of a perfect Popeyes crunch and the flavor made me punch my steering wheel so hard the airbag deployed, shoving the rest of the perfect cuisine right into my desperately waiting chew-hole. Pulled around and bought another. 10/10. No but actually it’s pretty good.
@@Izzy-lc9dg after eating their Asiago chicken sandwich for years, I thought the same until I had that Popeyes chicken sandwich. It's game changing and affordable lol
The Ch'King was a serious chicken sandwich. But they got rid of it because it was too time consuming for the cooks to make. They replaced it with the Royal Crispy Chicken sandwich which is not as good (but it's easier to make.) What they ate was the Original Chicken Sandwich, and I don't think it was fair to put it up against the others imo. It's a pretty different product, whereas the Ch'King/Royal were more in the same category as the other sandwiches.
I’m glad I’m not the only one. I never hand the chking, but the Royal is still a damn good sandwich. I was confused as hell when they pulled that thing out the bag
yes dude, I was wondering why it looked so different and why it was so bad to them, cause I remember about a year ago I would always get a ch'king deluxe before work and it was such a fucking good chicken sandwich that explains why
Exactly, the Ch'King was the biggest and crunchest chicken sandwich I've had in a long time. While the original chicken sandwich is just a big chicken nugget as a sandwich.
The Ch'King was a limited time sandwich. I can say after trying it that it is far better than the original chicken sandwich. The breading for the bun and the chicken is better and then chicken is also better because they use different chicken patties.
That’s interesting that Burger King now only offers the “original chicken sandwich” again. I swear I just went the other weekend and saw they were out of the Ch'king promo, but they had a different chicken sandwich available (albeit not as good) but it wasn’t the long shaped original either. // EDIT: Royal Chicken Sandwich // There’s no mistaking the original as it’s awful. The burger king Ch'king was actually pretty decent and meaty. Honestly a solid ‘A’ tier imo. (Sad they discontinued it.) You could even come close to S tier with the Ch'king, if you hacked it and went to McDonald’s before hand and asked them for a side of their spicy chipotle sauce, then brought it to top a Ch’king with it. It was as close to a Popeyes tier as I could find at that time. Can’t wait until they bring it back. You know they will.
All I gotta say is I'm from AZ and after going to Bojangle's three times on a trip to NC, that was easily the best fast food chicken I've ever had. I absolutely SIMP for Bojangle's
I've really been horschwackled by this video. You included Culvers in the tier list, but never discussed nor ranked the Culvers. I was blown away that there even WAS a Culvers in Florida. You built me up and you let me down, moist man.
We have a couple of em here on the southwestern coast of Florida and I can tell you, the crispy chicken sandwich slaps. They prolly would have dropped it in A. Definitely not Popeye's but totally worth it with an order of cheese curds!
They probably didn’t have one close by, but honestly KFC has been getting worse over the years, I’ve had their sandwich twice from two different locations and it was borderline inedible
@@venogreedo6103 I agree with KFC getting worse and worse every year it is like they are not even trying I had both popeyes and KFC. KFC started giving me hearth pains because of how much grease it had while after eating popeyes i felt fine because they did not go crazy on grease
For some reason I've had really bad luck with Popeyes every time I've gotten a chicken sandwich it's been dry as hell the one time it was tender it was way smaller than the bun
Ya Their highs are the best chicken sandwich I've had. But they had the worst fries I have ever ate. It might just be the chain I go too. Haven't been there in a while, fries hurt me
Now that Charlie has tried to Popeyes chicken sandwich, he needs to try the SPICY chicken sandwich because I’m sure it’s gonna be too hot for him, but so good that he’s not gonna be able to stop eating it.
worked in a popeyes the ONLY difference between a spicy sandwich and the regular one is that the spicy sandwich has spicy mayo on it which has some of the blackened seasoning in it
Rewatching this and honestly Bojangles would be a serious contender in my opinion. Had that not too long ago and I rated it above Popeye's in my mind but I haven't had Popeye's in a few years so it would be tough ranking them side by side
The first time I had a Popeye's chicken sandwich, I was thoroughly impressed. The sandwich itself looked simple enough, but one bite in, I was like..."holy shit".
It kind of depends on the location. I’ve had awful Popeyes chicken sandwiches. Even the Taco Bell by me has like a 1.7 star rating. Some areas fast food is just ass.
27:09 I will say in burger kings defense you got the "original chicken sandwich" and the one they made for the chicken kickin' competition was was dubbed the "ch'king" sandwich. That is most likely the one they are referring to on the survey as that sandwich actually rivals popeyes and chikfila for me and many others. It's pretty much a carbon copy of your generic chicken sandwich but they are very good.
Yeah I was thinking they got the wrong sandwich since I had the ch'king a few weeks ago and it did not look like the one they ate lol The spicy ch'king is actually really good.
Burger King used to have a really fire chicken sandwich. they had a hand breaded chicken sandwich and it had like double the meat most of these sandwiches had and it tasted amazing but it was super expensive to make so they removed it from their menu and swapped it for something easier to make and cheaper sad tbh
I always make my own chickie sammies. Ill just spice and season the breading and make my own tomato salsa (make bell peppers chunky). A couple spinach leaves and hollow out the bread. I always say if something’s this good no sauce’s needed. But the amount of meat itll use and bread makes noxious so I use a good about of vegetation to make the dish equitable.
15:00 One of the reasons why you guys are my fav youtuber is that all of your content feels like it was a home video. Basically, early youtube era where people are making videos out of passion with whatever that they got instead of a team full of corporate analysts that pump out content with a bunch of hired employees I love highly edited content but rarely the one made by a huge team of people
exactly, charlie and his friends are just humble guys whos are enjoyable to watch without all of the fast-paced and over the top editing. He's always kept it 100% real.
I’ve had that Burger King chicken sandwich one time. I was doing community service in middle school and the people that were also doing community service took me there for lunch. It’s awful. It has like a…sour taste? Thinking about the sodium gives me a migraine. I also felt sick for about 4 hours after eating it so you’re not crazy for feeling that way!
I have one big regret that came with moving out of Florida, I no longer have PDQ near me. The PDQ in Clearwater was the one I visited the most and it slapped.
@@EhtesamUddinPrince The KFC is at least an A. Not an S merely due to the fact that the Popeyes sandwich is the one that bangs your mom after she tells you to go play outside.
In my city, KFC is better than Popeyes, but they're both absolutely murdered by Lee's Famous Recipe. It feels like the Popeyes in my area cuts off all the good pieces of chicken, sends them to KFC, then exclusively cooks and serves the gristle.
Matt: ‘that’s horrendous, im going to be the first to say, that’s horrible.’ Charlie: ‘it’s not that bad.’ Matt: ‘it’s better than I thought it was going to be.’ Yes-man Matt
Lol. They both play it off of each other. It’s so cute. I guarantee everyone’s ears actually perk up once Danny chimes in. I feel like him and Charlie would make a better pairing for tiers. I feel like Dan is straight up honest. I also wish they’d do the whole thing blind, give ratings, and talk about it without seeing anything, then react at the very end.
So the thing is we only cook them from raw for 5 minutes in a vegetable oil fryer and it's supposed to get a 1 minute "dwell" time where it finishes cooking, but most employees are in a rush so they just pull up the chicken and put it on the Sammy, most people get fired for serving raw chicken but it does slip threw the cracks often
there shouldn’t be gristles in Chik Fil A, MC’ds, or Popeyes. never had that be present in theirs. but it’s a gristle, stop being picky it’s just a part of a chicken 😂
I worked at Checkers and the Chicken sandwich as well as the tenders both had the fry seasoning on them, as for the sauce it think it was call the Squawk sauce and it is amazing!!!
@@schmeat7609 lol not the case up here in Canada, if anything the KFC Famous chicken sandwich here is like in-between A tier and S tier it's fucking amazing
Ngl, when he scrapped that Popeye's chicken crust and it made that sound, I was instantly sold. You can only get those sounds when the crust is actually crispy/hard.
