I tried going sugar-free and it did NOT go as I expected

When deciding to go sugar-free, make sure you take into account how DIFFICULT IT IS TO EXERCISE SELF-CONTROL. Having tried and failed, I can safely say that either my body is absolutely addicted to sugar, or going sugar-free is just really bad for you. And I don't think it's the latter . . .

What I've learned from my years of testing different diets and x-frees is that really everything in moderation is the key. But getting to a point where I only eat one piece of chocolate and not the whole bar was a journey 😅 Just like this one, also the keto and any other strict diet has one crucial problem - eating on the go is really difficult and also social occasions are super difficult (birthdays, Christmas dinners...). At least I saw myself falling in a binge period after eating that "prohibited food" only once for a special occasion.

A lot of people may be recommending fad diets/elimination diets and I know they work for some people. I have always found that a balanced plate without added sugars or refined ingredients whenever possible really helps me:) My skin has cleared up a lot and I get less cravings for junk (it is good to give your body a snack when you crave things though!) denying yourself things is no way to live in the long term! Basically the less steps your food goes through to get to you, the better!

2 weeks is really close to the turn around point. After 30 days you would have noticed the difference. Feeling worse is expected during the detox period… but once you get over that you’d be amazed. It seems so daunting like you’ll have to use willpower forever, but you actually won’t! There’s a shift and you actually stop craving it like in the past and can easily pass it up! It blew my mind when I got to that state!… but that first 3-4 weeks is rough, I admit lol

Fun fact, your body turns carbs into glucose. The raisin toast, the garlic bread, the bananas, nearly every food I saw in this video will be quickly turned into glucose (sugar) by your body. Fruit also contains a ton of natural sugar and carbs. The sugar free diet didn't work, because it wasn't sugar free at all. You avoided obvious sugars, but not natural sugars, and not the carbs your body turns into sugars. Eating this many carbs was probably worse than what you were having before. A salad with some sugary dressing is going to equate to a lot less glucose than say a bowl of pasta or a grilled cheese sandwich. If you ever decide to give this another shot, I'd recommend some research into Keto. It's not an easy diet for a vegetarian though. It's entirely possible, but it's VERY restrictive, and requires eating a LOT of certain things to keep vitamins and minerals in balance. (particularly protein, that's a rough go without carbs or meat) Sugar free with all you can eat carbs is not sugar free, don't make yourself miserable for nothing lol

@@472_d3 clearly you can survive months only drinking oil, which contains 0% carbs and 0% glucose. It was proven many times that you can live off pure fat. Do a research before you make a false statement like this. You are incompetent, but you are the only one. There are about 6 billion people on the planet who are as incompetent as you, so no need to beat yourself up...

Keto is hard on the liver long term. I tried it and thought it was the holy grail till things took a turn for the worse. I thought about foods a lot, and realized that altor myself , processed foods are the foods to avoid. Period. Fruits are not bad. On fact, it's scary how something that has been with us for millennia is getting blamed for so many things. Incidentally the issues "sugar" creates have started since 40-50 years ago when we started developing our processed foods ( and processed carbs and sugars). I quit all my processed carbs , foods whatsoever and went full blown into eating as much fruit and veggies as I want. Have never felt better! Sometimes I eat some chicken if I wish, or some fish. I avoid eggs and dairy because they disgust me personally. So, in conclusion, sugar is not bad. Processed sugar IS bad. Fruit got lumped together with it as if it was the same thing. It is not.

@@472_d3 Hi 472_d, I need enough sugar (or glucose) to thrive -- my brain won't function as well if I try to cut out all sugar (including fruit).

2 weeks is to fast to expect any result and if you are addicted to sugar (I'm just assuming it because you said it), I think the reaction/result that you had would be expected. I don't think is bad to eat sugar what is bad is to exceed the quantity that is recommended and healthy for humans.

I agree that sugar is required. If you are someone who thinks a lot, like to read or is constantly creating your brain uses the sugar to process.

I don’t know about going sugar free. But I have been reducing added and unnecessary sugar. May be good way to go so fruit and bread aren’t eliminated from my diet. I feel the frustration you show in your video. Lol , cue pop up clip of the Incredible Hulk. “ hulk smash”

Ive been doing it for a month and a half and it will stay like that forever 😁 i guess you got pimples because your body is cleaning the toxins out. And two weeks its not enough to see the changes 🙂

@@MaryellenHacko sorry for the late response 🙈 completely forgot. Um it has been 2 months and a week now since the last time i ate sugar. And i dont crave it much because i mostly eat fruit. If you crave sweet do some raw dessert with nuts and dates for the crust and filling from fruits and coconut milk 😁🤤

My worst temptation: Bro I hate the way the world encourages u to eat McDonald’s. “Got no money get a Big Mac! Need delicious fast food that could possibly give u diabetes? Head to McDonalds! Apples have natural sugar, fructose, equivalent to a candy bar...most fruit has sugar in it, some more than others. Berries are lowest in sugar. 😉

Eating an apple is not the same as eating a candy, for goodness sake! The nonsense that has become accepted mainstream is insane and unhealthy! Everyone living under fruit fear as if fruit is the devil. I grew up eating fruits , lots of them and it never caused any issues. Issues started only when I started consuming more and more processed carbs. I can't believe the world has gone so insane that saying an apple does not equal a piece of candy is controversial. 🧐

If there is one thing that would make me quit this challenge that would be also be pizza haha 🍕😋 I don’t have the courage to seek the discomfort with no sugar challenge yet but I decided to finally try no poo after watching your video (have been wanting to do it for years and there is really no better time than now) soo wish me luck 😂

Hope for you that you live in an Area that has soft water because going no poo is way easier with soft water. Hard water will glog up your hair so it feels greasy on top and dry on the ends. I myself live in an area where the water is so hard that I even experience it while still using shampoo

Glucose is VITAL for our bodies, for our brains, for our BLOOD SUGAR lol. What is bad is the processed sigar, not the natural sugars. Since I quit all processed sugar and replaced it with clean carbs everything got so much better! Got no cravings whatsoever, I've never been so peaceful with food. It helps to reflect upon the fact that we ate fruit for centuries, sugar is not bad. The only bad sugar are the unnatural processed ones. When we go to the doctor, they test our blood sugar not our blood-fat or blood-protein. 😅 Please don't fall for the fruit fear propaganda! Next time try doing the challenge whilst eating fruits! It will actually be better as you'll be getting critical glucose but no processed inflammatory processed sugar. All the best to you!
