Make sure to double fry your fries! What you did is about the equivalent of blanching the fries. Frying it again at a higher temperature will be able to make it very crispy.
yes- this is bc after the first fry the potatoes are still releasing a lot of moisture through steam, which makes them get soggy quickly. frying them again recrisps them after the moisture has gone, so they wont get soggy again
And soaking the cut potatoes in cold water before hand helps as well! And if you want to take it a step further you could put them in the freezer for an hour or two as well.
@@gardenx5574 they said it was the equivalent of blanching, not that it was blanching. its adorable how you feel confident enough to be so condescending when you lack reading comprehension skills.
To make the fries crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside cut the potatoes and pour salted boiling water over them and let them sit for 5-7 minutes. After that let them cool a bit and fry on medium heat.
Hi Lisa! I work with kids and we made these during our summer cooking camp. The chef that day actually used seaweed to wrap the banana blossoms before battering/frying. It helps add flavor and keeps everything from falling apart!
"Eww my nasty hands! Ewww!!!!" 🤣 Also, I'm not vegan but this looks pretty good and the banana blossoms kind of looked like chicken so that was interesting lol.
Enoki mushrooms also work extremely well as a substitute for crab cakes when fried. I didn’t believe it myself until I tried it and ohhh my goodness the texture, the pull is exactly like crab. It may also work well for fish and chips since it provides a fishy flavor without the addition of the kelp!! Good luck Lisa and love your videos 💕🙌🏽🙌🏽
This is an old comment so I don't know if you'll reply but you basically said enoki mushrooms work good for crabcakes do you know how to actually make them taste like crab like what seasoning and stuff to use for them?
“Everything is fine remember” in your voice was genuinely such a calming moment (which I have little of lol) thank you for your simple but enjoyable content💜💜
Day 13 of asking Lisa to make indian style fried rice Recipe: take a pan add 3/4 tbsp oil then add 1 TSP cumin and mustard seeds then add 3/4 cloves garlic( you can add more if you like.)then add curry leaves roast a little bit for 15/20 sec add finely chopped half onion (for 1 plate or take 1 onion for more than 1 plate ) and 1 tomato wait for 2/3 minutes then add red chilli powder, turmeric powder, everest biryani masala (optional) then add rice and salt mix and add coriander cover for 1/2 minutes mix in between and fried rice or masala rice ready Pls try this 🙏😭 plssaa
So you make fried rice by steaming and covering it? And 3/4 tbsp oil. How is it fried rice anymore? Fried rice is made with super high heat and cooked super fast. You can't really cover it to steam it and call it fried rice, you gotta "fry" it. Although the recipe does sound pretty good though, I will try it next time I have left over rice.
@@miss42310 yes cooked rice. actually my mom uses biryani masala for more flavour cause biryani masala has different spices in it (eg. Pepper,Clove .ect ) but it's upto u the rice tastes nice without masala too
Try boiling your potatoes first for about 10 minutes before frying, Lisa! It helps release the starch from the potatoes, allowing them to be fluffy on the inside and crispy on the outside 😄
Why is everyone in the comments acting kind of sarcastic/mean it’s only a joke I know I m not funny at all 😐😐😭😭 I got no comment to type in my brain sorry if I disappointed anyone
I really love how much Lisa loves her niece. I also have nieces who live far away from me and it breaks my heart knowing that I can't watch them grow as closely as I would like to.
So if you boil the fire kinda like blanching for a few minutes before firing it really helps them crispy up so well. Recently learned this tip. I can tell you personal it's awesome
I will also say as a tip on the fries, I rinse then soak mine in a mix of a few cups water and a splash of vinegar. Double frying makes them super crispy and they don't go as dark brown as fast helping them keep from overcooking or being dark on the outside and raw in the center
Lisa, I don’t know if you tried this before but how about try using the instant kimichi bowl noodles, drain the water. Add the kimichi powder packet with some olive oil and soy sauce( if you want taste). It’s taste pretty good ! Love your videos !✨
Attention fellow ramen lovers: Here is a recipe for a bussin bussin meal. Make chicken Marichan ramen from the pack like normal and drain almost all the water and leave a little bit left. Add in packet of seasonings and mix. Next add a little bit of butter and some Chile red pepper flakes. I don’t like spicy stuff but this is bussin
Day 138 of asking Can you instead of just eating the level 7 spicy noodles right away do it step-by-step? so by the time you get to 7 you’ll be ready!!😁
@@santoshkumarmohanty1098 I’m sorry but you said,’That Vegan Teacher:Finally a worthy opponent’,and l said ‘That vegan teacher:Ah yes a worthy opponent, out battle will be legendary!’. I got inspired by the meme not copy yours!
Why do so many vegans try to simulate meat? There's many many delicious vegetable recipes where vegetables act like vegetables. It kinda seems like you're ignoring what your body wants. If you crave meat, you probably need some meat.
@@RandomVidsforthought you are mentally ill. There should be no moral objections to consuming animals, something humanoids we have been doing for millions of years.
@@bertalovejoy5877 Sure bertie, Whatever makes you feel good in life. I don't care if you want to call people crazy/mentally ill because they have different lifestyle choices than you. You do you Berta Lovejoy. Goodbye and have a good day
There's no such thing as a vegan fish. If you want to eat fish eat a fish for crying out loud. I've never seen a group of people who whine about eating meat and animal life who try so pathetically hard to make everything taste like meat and animal life.
I have watched this like 5000 times no kidding I love it and can you try roast potato crunch it’s like a potato veggie thing inside and crunchie batter on the outside
Looks sooo good, idek what banana blossoms are exactly but they look like they definitely replicate the TEXTURE of fish... did they do that well? Bc I think for me, the texture of fish is why I love it, and yes the saltiness too!
I recommend getting an air fryer it is easy to use and it much healthier. I have a mooso air fryer, it is so easy to use and it has a basket and chicken turner. I recommend getting one.
I've done the whole double-fry method for fries, and I'm no stranger to frying, so they turned out as they were supposed to. I highly recommend just roughly-cubing potatoes, tossing them in your spices and enough oil to coat them, and baking. The texture and taste are as good (if not better) as deep-fried fries, without the fuss and hassle of making sure they are thoroughly cooked, crispy, and not soggy through constantly checking the oil temp and double-frying them. Basically, baked "home-fries" are the best.
Bonus points for getting those crispy batter bits out of the oil. 👍 Edit: When making homemade french fries, aka chips, drop them in the oil twice. After you fried them the first time, you needed to do them again after letting them rest or to the point where you said "I thought they were done". Fry them again till they get even more golden. Then season.
Hi Lisa I love your content a lot♥️ I have a question, what is your go to spring roll? I really want to try to make spring rolls but I don’t know what one to make, I hope you have a lovely day thanks for doing what your doing♥️♥️
Me and my 4 kids love that yo made the decision to become a "foodie" as soon as we get a home 🏡 we can't wait to try the Ramen challenge and another of the other great dishes we already HAVE to have soft boiled eggs with all of our Ramen creations which is a lot when your number 1 cooking method is a microwave lol we love you God bless
Boil water and add your fries , salt and a very small amount of vinegar to the water for 4-8 min let stand and then fry. I think that might help. (Double frying is a trick some use to make them extra crispy)
i have the same problem i cant get my fries crispy all the videos on yt havent worked either you remind me of my sister lol she is also impatient while cooking, but in the end it all works out anyway love your vids! been watching you since you started making videos!
