The lemon trick actually works. You’re supposed to roll it on the counter a bit before. It’s an amazing trick, because you can use just a little and put the lemon back in the fridge and use it again when you need it 👌🏻🍋

English cucumbers are not bitter by nature. But here in India our local varieties come so bitter sometimes that you can go into coma if you do not remove the bitterness before you bite into it by using the same trick as shown in the video. We Indians do that every time before slicing our cucumbers....

Also, the lemon one actually does work but the lemons that you are buying have too much rine on the ends and that is why it is not working. It makes the ends squeeze together when you try to squeeze the lemon thus not creating a perfect stream of lemon juice. It is not the most efficient way to get all of the lemon juice but it is a quicker way.

In India, it's common to rub the cucumber that way to ensure that in case if it's bitter, it gets better in taste. Maybe the term that tik tok video used was milking, but this act is common in here and widely used

Why are so many people hating on him? I've been watching this channel for about 2 months and I always saw some hate on his channel in the comments. I am from India and Idk how many people in India do the cucumber thing...But in my state they do use that hack to remove the bitterness from cucumber and it works ❤

The thing about cucumber, they have a bad taste sometimes.( the good ones are kinda sweet), and when u do that it is said it takes that bad taste away. And it's working. We do this in Romania.

Point of cucumber is that when sometimes taste very bitter ( One of the reasons that makes a cucumber bitter is that it belongs to the cucurbitaceous family. These plants naturally produce chemicals known as cucurbitacins, which are the main cause of making the cucumber bitter. The presence of large amount of cucurbitacins can make a person sick) you 'milk' 'it and you voila got rid of bitterness(chemical whatever)..... its a real thing 😊

You can actually milk the cucumber but only the bitter ones.. Those that doesn't milk are not bitter... In India we milk it that way to lower the bitterness of the cucumber if it is bitter.

I'm Malaysian and we actually do that thing about cucumber 🥒🤔 we milk the cucumber to get rid of the bitter taste. That's what my grandma, mom, aunts and all my friends and relatives says and do.

Yep, the cucumber hack (it's actually useful) because cucumbers has "cucurbitacins" that gives the bitter taste, to most of the cucumbers but that depends on the type or even fertilization, and if you want to try it again, just cut the top (not to the part where the seeds are showing)

Milking the cucumber works for bitter cucumbers. It removes the bitterness of it. Cut the top for about 1 to 1,5 cm. Not too much. I've been doing this all my life.

Milking a cucumber is soooo legit! People here in India do it all the time! So you cut like half an inch of the edge and rub in circular motion. The white substance that come off helps remove bitterness and wierd flavor from the cucumber.

I'm from India and we remove the pith/ bitterness from a cucumber by doing that ☺️ except we cut it closer to the ends.. the middle part usually doesn't have any of the white stuff. But the ends do 😅

Hello the last hack actually works we do it in India so when you hack cut the cucumber sides you have to put salt on itand then rub it now what it actually does it that if a cucumber is bitter it removes the bitterness

It doesn’t remove dirt it removes bitterness from the taste especially if it’s not fully ripened. Also, you are using a long seedles variety, the cucumber she is using I believe is a burpless bush variety which is similar to cucumbers used for pickling but a little fatter and about 4-6 inches long
