RU-vid was REALLY bugging out today with this upload! Sorry its so late! If you guys could please show it some EXTRA LOVE I would REALLY, REALLY appreciate it!! Im hoping its reaching everyones sub boxes. Thank you!!
I use greece makeup all the time. It is a little weird till you get used to it, but it's super cheap and powders are the best thing to use while working with it. However i would be careful using it it stains like no tomarrow and the stains tend to look like bruses.
Hey, recent but firm subscriber here. I had a question, I'm planning on being Aang, from "Avatar the Last Airbender," for Halloween, how would you recommend going about the bald cap/arrow painting on it to get it to look realistic? And where to get a good bald cap?
You're the only one keeping yourself from doing this. She didn't start out great I'm sure. Please don't diminish her hard work by saying it's 'talent'.
Y'all I was just making a joke, I don't want anyone to think I'm saying that this is impossible if you aren't talented. Lex has worked hard to get to where she's at, skill-wise, but it does require talent as well. Acknowledging talent does not diminish hard work, the two go hand in hand.
@@AurosOrion I think it's because a talent is something that comes naturally. Whereas this skill didn't come naturally to her, it developed through hard work. I get what you mean, but I think that's where the other comments are coming from:)
I would ABSOLUTELY love to see more of this inexpensive type video. I kinda wanna see how you do with someone more evil and twisted. Like IT but maybe not a clown. Like unhinged jaw? I wanna start getting into this stuff and I wanna learn latex stuff too so this has been helping me alot
If you're a little hesitant about going straight into latex you can make scar wax with Vaseline and flour to get similar effects, you can also add a little foundation to it if you want it to be skin toned or add foundation after
i loved this so much!! it's especially great to see a youtuber using actually inexpensive products in one of these types of videos! so many times i've watched vids where the supposedly 'cheap' products are actually like hella expensive lol... i'd love to see if you could still do a more 'intricate' look (like a skull or something which involves a lot of fine detail work) with these types of products tbh!
That water activated palette was legit. I need to get a few of those for my kids! They love their face painted and those would be perfect to keep around.
@@Lemu_with_a_shirt did you fail math? The point they were trying to make is the title says under $10, in the vid she keeps saying under $15. $15 is more than $10. So basically she is not doing it for less than $10. Now that it's been explained do you get it now or is it just completely lost on you?
@@IndexError_ they were being rather nice and you went out of your way to demean them. there was literally no reason to act like that, it's not that deep.
My 9 year old daughter loves “face painting” (except she will decorate any skin she can get ahold of). We stock up on Wet n Wild Halloween releases because WnW is easy for her to work with. She loves your videos & will be excited to know we can try to find similar makeup at our Walmart.
I clicked when I saw the Walmart paints in the thumbnail! I bought those to do a facepainting booth at a fall festival and my only complaint is they aren't super pigmented and it was difficult to load my brushes versus a sponge but not bad for Walmart/party store stuff!
I would honestly love for you to do more like this. I tell my clients all the time: you can create amazing things with what you have around or can get things at Walmart as well. It doesn’t always have to be offline or super expensive. This would be a great way to get people on board with that !!!
You just got to get started and go with it!! No one is born knowing how to do stuff! Got to start somewhere. Snazaroo facepaints are really good and under $10 :) happy painting!
I would love to see another Walmart Halloween makeup tutorial!! Also, I think it would be fun to see you recreate this look using the makeup/paints you normally use ;)
Omg I love walking dead . Ps are you still turning people's drawings into body art if so I only have Pinterest is it ok to send one of my drawings through that
I'd love to see another one of these!! I'd love to see some character who's only black and white (with grays) or something with only eyeshadows. It'd be a good idea as well to do something with stuff people usually already have but maybe it would be harder because we're all different and have different products. Idk, these are just some ideas that came to my mind. You look awesome!!
Amazing look as always Lex. The glamour shot at the end where you suddenely look at the camera, your normal eye shadowed by the head gear was super effective at being evil/creepy to me. idk why. LOVED it.
Becca Hochanadel That’s a very good question. There are many places that can special order contacts like that as long as you have a prescription. I would not, however, recommend buying from any place that didn’t require a prescription. There are too many variables to take into account that could make it risky for the health of your eyes. I would suggest calling eye centers and see if they order specialty contacts. Hope that helps!
Well for one thing she was talking with the pallete facing away from her, and probably looking into a viewfinder that doesn't mirror her, but shows the true perspective, so that's a little disorientating. And also the green might be a slip of the tongue, but maybe she is colorblind? I can assure you she said it wrong (well spotted), you seem to know the difference between brown and green, and you would probably have figured out you were colorblind by now because you're pretty observant.
It would be super cool to see you recreate some of your older or more iconic looks with walmart/drugstore products. I've always wanted to try this kind of art, but I'm nervous to because I can't afford Mehron and I know that a lot of less expensive stuff just isn't as workable
Dead Head takes on new meaning. I adore that your narration explains why your shading an area (or hi-lite). I consider myself an artist, & I think the same things (at times). However, your reminders - why an area is contoured is crucial detail no matter how basic is may seem. You always share Great info, for all levels of experience. Your one sub, that survives my annual subscription scrubbings without a second thought. Eeek Halloween !
FWIW - if you need something to go over any greasepaint to set it, plain cornstarch works really well (it's also really good to matte down stage make-up) This helpful hint comes from the dodgy old goth who had to use kool-aid or jello powder to to streak her hair she's so old.... Happy Halloween!
Wow! Your talent never ceases to amaze me!!! No wonder I use your looks for most of my inspo! ❤️❤️ I have followed for over 8 years and so glad I have!!!
It is really cool seeing you use products that I started with. Before I even heard of you, I was using products from walmart and spirit halloween to do body painting and SFX. Because of you I now use graftobian and ben nye products. It is really cool to see that talent is not limited by cheap products!
It's best to order them directly from your eye doctor. Any legit shop will require a prescription to purchase, and they'll make sure you don't go blind. You can order almost anything directly from your doctor, and they often have sales around Halloween!
Love your tutorials! Between the cracked doll looks and the Strangers masks, I got my creepy doll look for Halloween this year. It was a big hit. Thanks for posting these!!
@@BeautyBabeldom OOOOO, okay, yeah I was going to bed while watching and fell asleep some time after the blue paint was added, but this what I get for commenting something without watching it all the way through thanks btw
Just discovered this women from an article and i gotta say this is far from anything that i'd normally watch but i found it surprisingly mesmarising and relaxing.
This was pretty cool. I'm going to be painting my kids faces this Halloween and was a bit skeptical and the Walmart makeup. But you've changed my mind. Can't wait to try them out. Please do one more look using inexpensive makeup before Halloween is over. Thank you 🤗
lex!!! it would be really cool if you used cheap eyeshadows that you said you started out with to recreate a look!! idk it seems like it would be a fun thing to try!
I have been binge watching all of your videos.. I genuinely love your personality.. You have been able to somehow get me out of my own head. And let me tell ya... its been while sense I’ve been out of there... please keep doing what you’re doing. I really enjoy learning all the techniques you tell🖤 thank you
I would love to see you do a gory/scary vampire :) All of your looks are so beautiful, I feel like a last super scary video would do the Halloween spirit justice!
I think it always shows just how much talent someone has if they can make something work with cheap products! This makes me feel like I could do this too!!
I really want to THANK YOU for this video. It was very informative, and fun! Economically for many that can't afford professional make up. Keep up the inspiration!
This turned out really good, Lex!! 😍 I've used Walmart & Spirit Halloween makeup and effects to make my own zombie bite from scratch that looked amazing!
You should do more of these types of videos buying stuff from Halloween stores and other stores like Kroger is Walmart and all the other ones. I think that this would be a great series on your channel. This was so good I love this video lex.
I love it! Thank you for mentioning the contact lens thing. You can do some damage to your eyes if you dont know what your doing and dont get contacts from a good source. I work at an optical store and people usually call around this time of year thinking they can just get Halloween contacts from us. I've seen a lot of websites that will require a prescription from a dr, even if you don't need them to have power in it.
