I have been planning an apex cosplay since I got back into playing it last month so these cosplay guides couldn't have come out at a more perfect time, hopefully they post Valkyrie soon! amazing job svetlana!!!
Oh god… a Book about 3d printing… mah wallet 😂 I need it.!! but honestly, I never regret buying kamui‘s books. They really are full of useful information ❤
Hello, I’m wondering why, if you have a 3D printer in your work, you used EVA foam, is it more profitable? I just want to buy a 3D printer myself and I think how beneficial it is for cosplay, I will be very grateful if someone answers
You guys should really look into better ways to split models up before printing. Especially if you're going to print the bottom half of the face right side up with supports(???) there's no reason you couldn't add some plugs to it in slicer when cutting. Then you don't have to carefully (mis) align the parts when glueing.
It's actually really cool to see your thought process about which corners you should cut when you don't have enough time to go all out. Because a lot of times, we get overly ambitious and we're scrambling at the last minute to throw something together. Knowing where to spend your time and which things you can half-ass to get the best result in the time you have remaining is a really valuable skill.
Very cool! I use the same printer. I found a faster trick for sanding & painting. Instead of sanding first, use automotive filler primer. I know your first instinct is to sand it, but if you use the filler primer first, it takes less sanding to get a smooth base. The filler primer fills out the tiny grooves between the layer lines. Instead of sanding those lines down so they are even, the filler adds material so when you do your first sanding, you knock back the paint and plastic until they are even (taking less sanding overall). Also, you've already applied your first layer of primer, so that speeds things up quite a bit. Hope this helps out in the future!
amazing work as always. I really liked that you actually didn't finish a whole costume this time, somehow it took a lot of unneeded pressure to always have perfectly finished costumes, you know? It's nice to see you having fun.
Just amazing and epic, as always. Love to see your passion for your art. Glad also to see Jakob is still helping you. He's like a cute smaller version of Benni. Love your work, guys. And thank you for sharing with us.
You do an absolutely awesome job at everything you do! However, I have to be totally honest, I was much more excited about seeing your videos when average crafters could learn something and the tools that you used to complete the project were accessible to average crafters/artists. Most people do not have access to all the high tech equipment and technology that you guys have available to you. Back in the day you would use heat guns, worbla, and other average priced materials, plus, you had to be creative to complete the projects with those tools! I loved it!!! I bought your books, I watched every video, and I learned so much from you! Most of us do not have access to expensive equipment, laser machines, and we don’t have an extra Benny laying around to make complicated 3D scans of our heads, etc. 😂 I would really love it if you completed a project now and then that any person at home would be capable of following along with it.
Thanks a lot for your feedback and I totally get you! Cosplay is an expensive hobby and not everyone can afford all those professional tools were are using these days. But I'm doing this now for 20 years and as an artist I surely want to improve my art with more efficient tools and quality materials. Just like I switched from paper mache to Worbla and then to EVA foam. However, it also sounds like you maybe missed my last few projects. The Necromancer was completely made with EVA foam and furniture leather and even the massive weapon was just foam and some PVC pipes. Same with the Gunslinger! We just mostly have only limited time for our projects and when it's up to Benni to help me, he prefers using the 3D printer as he doesn't have foam crafting skills. Nothing wrong with that! In addition, we need to speed things up buy cutting with the laser cutter instead of using a utility knife and scissors. Why shall I cut 1000 scales by hand if I can do this with a machine instead? At the end of the day I still hope that our videos are educational and helpful, even without having the same tools as we do! Also, I would actually say that a 3D printer is just as accessible as a sewing machine since these tools got really affordable these days! And if you really want, you can actually order laster cut materials online as well! We did the same before we got our own machine. 😊
While this is true I don’t think 3d printers are as unaccessible as your making them out to be you can buy a pretty good starter printer for just about $200
@@sirsudo0614 You are saying they aren’t as accessible as what I’m making it seem as if my message was misleading. Not everyone has the ability to make the patterns for the 3D printers. A 3D printer is totally useless if you want to make custom stuff and don’t have the skills to do so. Although I have tried, I’m totally unable to do that type of stuff and I’m pretty sure I’m not the only one. So that’s basically what I was referring to is that it’s difficult for average people to follow along. My point was that most crafter/creators don’t have all the special equipment and it’s a hobby so they use inexpensive materials and just make it happen without all the high tech bells and whistles. Although 200 dollars may not seem like allot to you, I know many people that would not be able to purchase that type of equipment especially when you consider also buying the materials for the 3D printer. Last time I checked which I fully admit has been awhile back, the materials to make the 3D printed items were expensive. Maybe now they aren’t. However, I still stand by my initial statement that tuning in became less exciting for that reason.
@@KamuiCosplay thank you for your response! I’ll will check out the past few videos. I’m just giving you my honest feedback, I’m not saying you have to hand cut 1000 scales, I’m just saying you guys have allot of high tech stuff and it went from being able to follow along with the same exact projects to mostly being done with equipment so I was not tuning in as often as I had in the past. What I always loved about your videos was that no matter what it was, you came up with some way to get the job done and you had some really creative ideas and materials to do so! However, I still think you guys are absolutely AMAZING as I said before and crazy talented! No one is denying that! I understand cutting corners for the time involved as well. What about maybe showing alternative ways to do different parts of the project so that everyone can make it? Then you can still primarily use your equipment which still saves you guys all the time? 😊
I'm so thankfull you did more than what you were asked for. But I'm even more thankfull you didn't sacrifice time on unnecesary screen accurate details. It's validating.
Hello, I am Vietnamese. I really like cosplay, like to simulate characters in movies and games. I really like your video, it's useful for me to learn, although I don't have the conditions or equipment like you, so I will consider you as my motivation to turn myself into any character by crafting. my burn
A fantastic combination of talent, art, skill, cooperation, technology and most importantly enthusiasm! Your presentations always put a smile on my face!
Funktioniert das mit dem gravieren der Augenplättchen auch mit nem Dioden Laser? zB dem XTool M1? Schneiden geht nicht, aber evtl oberflächliche Arbeiten evtl. Danke! :-)
Been binge watching this channel for about a month now with my gf. We absolutely love you guys!! Svetlana is adorable haha im not even into cosplay at all but y'all make me wanna get into it. Im a blacksmith/knifesmith, a wood carver and an oil/watercolor painter. So i feel like i could really dive deep into this sorts thing but i wouldnt even know where to get started? Anyways, much love from BC Canada ✌
Sieht hammermäßig aus. Also, euch würde ich sofort für eine Filmproduktion anheuern. So genial, was ihr da zaubert. Großartig. Und an das Idon Verso Costume kann ich mich noch gut erinnern. Das war auch der Knaller. Keep up the good work.
Wow really nice work. I love it. I have a question. What kind of sanding sponge do you use and have you tried sanding fleece yet? I'm not sure what I want to buy (primarily for 3d prints).
The parts you did were epic as usual. I confess I am somewhat disappointed because I really was curious how you were gonna deal with the robot bottom half. Ah well. I understand running out of time. Maybe you will get back to it and "finish" the job sometime.
I am new to the channel and am very impressed with your skills and planning. I do have a question about those eye pieces. I also wear glasses and have thought of doing certain characters that would need eye pieces like the ones you fashioned, but cannot figure out how to account for wearing my glasses without significantly altering the look of the piece. I cannot wear contacts so if, for example, I was to wear a helmet like the one you made, I would be at a great disadvantage for my vision. How do you manage your experience?
I was wondering how you would do the lower part before I realized you were just not going to make it 😂 but I guess if it's not necessary then why should you. For the clip in the end it works just fine the way it is and its still totally stunning. I like the acting in the movements (not sure if its really the movement or editing but it looks cool) Also thumps up to Benny and Jacob again for their amazing 3D modeling skills!!👍
In Apex legends, I played Revenant as my main character for a long time before he became popular in the meta. So glad to see you make this cosplay and great job with it.❤🎉
I followed along while you were making this a few months back. It was super helpful! I'm making the og Revenant design though. Would you consider ever making his heirloom in the future?
I love this!! the edit, effects, and ingenious framing let you do a relatively minimal build that has great impact. I also love that you show some ways for people to start slowly improving their patterning and modeling skills with everything you've learned in your crafting careers.
