The fact that you can admit your mistakes, shows that you are a good person and can realize when you are wrong
@everglowup

The fact that we have to explain that as ktubers we can be wrong or change our minds is a testament to how far gone our generation has gone. We are not fortune tellers, we are human, and it's okay that some of our takes won't age well. Our opinions are based on information available to us at that time, so it's not a crime to be wrong.

I think it really depends on the attitude of the person. If they're acting as though anyone who disagrees with their opinion is a moron, and then decide they were wrong; That is bad. Very bad.

It depends though. If they act like their opinions are facts or attack anyone who disagrees with them, then yeah that’s not good.
@-umi503

I'd say it depends on HOW these opinions are shared. Taejiu for his part shares his opinion like an opinion, without any apparent arrogance. You, on the other hand, speak like no greater truth has ever been spoken. And the arrogance and snobbery along with the sheer lack of tolerance for anyone who may disagree even if they may have some strong points is just not it. And most K-tubers believe they are the most intelligent people and everyone else is a total moron. Nobody is gonna go easy on you when such opinions shared in that manner don't age well.
@wonniesnarcissism

@@-umi503well, I see where you might have gotten this but that's just not the truth. She actually encourages others to share their opinions as long as they are not rude or harmful to anyone. The only times she has said moron in her videos is when it's the truth. You have to accept the fact that some people can be morons and she's one of the only people who is willing to call them out for it.

Personally, I think one of the hardest things in life is to admit to the mistakes that someone makes themselves. We as people pride ourselves on our successes and only want people to know about those instead of the mistakes we make in the past. I like how you did both here. You admitted that some of your takes aged like milk and you didn’t keep trying to fight that Aespa is still under terrible management or that Ive can’t make a full length album. But at the same time, you’re not embarrassed to show pride in those same videos whether they’re accurate or not to yourself. This is seriously why you’re my favorite K-tuber. Love you man, don’t let others get you down and keep your head high!

The Aespa take wasn’t completely unwarranted. Aespa was being terribly neglected because of the turmoil in the company. But once control of the company was sorted out they launched this like 2.0 version. And honestly I think a lot of the turmoil was due to the creative direction of Aespa and NCT.

One of the biggest things that K-pop Stan’s just DO NOT GET is that people are gonna screw up no matter what. Idk whats up with their fcked up mentality, but thinking that every single person who makes a mistake NEEEEEDS to be embarrassed by it for the rest of their waking moments is absolutely pathetic. Because EVERYONE MAKES MISTAKES, *_including_* those people who are soooo upset whenever someone they don’t personally know on the internet makes one. People will always do something wrong, and accidents are bound to happen. But regardless, I don’t think being haunted by those moments is the best way to deal with those mistakes. We should use it as a lesson or opportunity to show the better sides of ourselves, not let it be a shadow that constantly hangs over your head till the day you die. So Taejiu made a bad take, who tf cares???! It’s not smth that should be seen as a big deal, it’s incredibly minuscule and just doesn’t matter. He shouldn’t have to carry it over his head for the rest of his life just so yall Stan’s can feel some sense of accomplishment in tearing this man to shreads over nothing. Y’all need to learn something I like to call “Letting it fcking go.” ;-;

I think it’s good that you’re still keeping “outdated” videos up, I think it’s interesting to see how people thought about certain releases or groups in the past. For example almost all if not all reviews of ive’s debut eleven have been taken down so it’s almost impossible to see how people thought about the release if you weren’t there.

With how quickly and chaotically kpop, trends and the music industry moves as a whole, I don't think "bad"/mistake" takes really exist unless they're unnecessarily harsh or attack specific members/groups in ways that have nothing to do with the music. Your viewpoints were made in light of what was going on at the time and as we can see, things can change on a dime in drastic ways - I wish kpop fans understood this before making terrible comments on older videos. I appreciate that you don't scrub the takes that didn't actually go as predicted and you're able to reflect on your growth as a content creator. Keep up the great work!

You mean to tell me that KTubers aren’t psychic? *Gasps* It’s almost as if forming an opinion/prediction based on the information available at the time can be wrong if a group’s actions diverge from previously established patterns. Or even if they don’t, predicting how the general public will react is near impossible since there’s only one of you and 8 billion other people in the world. I made a video on NCT Hollywood and how I thought the demographics on the show would play out. How was I supposed to guess that SME would turn into a flaming dumpster fire and can the entire project? Lol This is why I have a rule of 6 months. People are capable of growing and evolving. But it takes time for that to happen. You’re not going to reform years of a mentality over night. Bur clinging on to something that happened a long time ago is bad because 1. It deprives the person from an opportunity to learn and grow from the situation and 2. Holding any sort of resentment or grudge just isn’t healthy. Anyways, great vid! It was nice being able to hear your thoughts on this issue. Hope school and any of your other endeavors are going well for ya! Keep working hard! ❤️

What you’re saying is true but not everyone has common sense. I’ve seen so many people on the internet judge someone about the smallest thing and will bring it up any time they have the chance as if it isn’t in the past or just to have an excuse to hate on that person. Plus, it’s actually good to document something that’s current and then later on in the future you come to realize that you were proven wrong because then you notice how much improvement there had been made from the last time you made your commentary.

You should do a video series at the end of the year, one where you do your victory lap about all the stuff you nailed and got right, and then the following week the video about everything you got wrong. It'd be funny to see the reactions to both.

I don’t even think these were bad takes. Just predictions based on previous patterns. The Aespa video for example… at the time there was an insane amount of chaos at SM and even at the best of times SM gets criticism for not juggling all their artists well. It was reasonable to worry that SM’s chaos and complacency might get the group lost in the shuffle. and it was so obviously not you bashing their talent or music or saying your faves were going to outsell Aespa or whatever. It would be like if you said … idk… you don’t think Apple knows how to advertise its products anymore and someone replied like “wow so you hate the new emojis???”

You are one of the few ktubers that I can relate to because I can see that you've done your research and truly appreciate Kpop. The world changes so fast and what appears to be solid facts at that time might become the opposite just a few minutes later. It is great to see that you are constantly working hard to put out quality content and that you also spend time to reflect on your past works. People make mistakes and content creators will have bad takes. The important thing is that you can admit and own up to those. Some people would just brush those aside or worse, continue defending their mistakes. The best thing to do is to use those bad takes and create an "I was wrong about... “ video to provide an update on the current status. It will generate more content, show your viewers that you are sincere and accountable, and let the fans know what happened next. For example, after your Aespa video, I thought they were done for and just didn't care about them anymore. I wouldn't have known that they had a successful tour if not for this video. Do your best on the things you can control. For those that you can't control, be kind to yourself and move on. I believe that you are on the right track in your Ktuber journey and I wish you all the best in your future projects 👍

👍on self-reviewing bad 'forecasting', A lot of people would never do that, and go down defending incorrect predictions to the bitter end. And to be fair, I've had a few botched predictions - mine aren't YT videos.... (Twice not re-signing with JYP was one).... So.... you do your best, look at the situation at time of your take, and make a call. If it's not 'on point' later, then do one of these time to time to clear them up. Truth is, you're a thoughtful K-pop essayist who helps educate me on how the business end of this all works. So thanks for what you do. Peace!

-Dude, at the time SM was going through the shitter. So it's understandable if you thought aespa was in trouble. -As for Fifty-Fifty, they were a group I wasn't into, but that was the extent of it. I didn't love or hate them. When all their company drama happened I stayed out of it because it seemed like every other day the story changed to the point that it's unclear what's going on and who's in the wrong. So I left that alone. It wasn't a LOONA situation where it was pretty black-and-white. -Your takes on IVE is a subjective thing so I don't know why you have to defend that. IVE does get dumped on constantly by another group's stans, so maybe their fans are defensive on ANY opinion because of that. So I think the pushback you got there is because of that.

@2FullMoons
@2FullMoons 9 месяцев назад
But were they really ‘bad takes’ or did you just work with the information available to you at that time? Idk... Also, yes, many group use tactics to promote their music such as Spotify playlisting & Tiktok ads, but that isn’t really illegal. Payola, from what I know, means illegally paying to promote the music. So idk if I’d call 50/50s or NewJeans’s or whoever’s music push ‘payola’ because they are not doing anything illegal from what I know. About IVE, trust that there were dives who also wondered if IVE can pull off an entire body of work. However, I think it’s just funny how IVE went from 4 songs last year to 20 songs this year, if we include their next EP that has 6 new tracks. The girls & their team worked hard to establish IVE as an album artist, not just a single one and I think they did an amazing job. And I think your worry at that time was somewhat reasonable. Anyways, as I said at the beginning, maybe some were less informed takes, but overall I simply think you expressed your opinion with the information you had available at that time, which that’s what we all do in life anyways, so don’t let those kpop fans bring you down.
