That's why musicians who are highly skilled, can do virtual acrobats with their instruments, revere the Beatles. Their songwriting is genius and most know they'll never be able to even approach it.
Yeah no kidding ! This was just one of scores of songs they wrote. Everyone I've ever heard stands the test of time. Definitely misses John's harmony, though.
I love 2:00 when he says "other girls were never quite like this" while looking at Linda. Even though Paul hadn't met her when he wrote this song, he certainly felt this way when he did meet her.
Indeed. I'm sure Linda was aware that this was written about someone else (presumably Jane), and Paul's nod to her is a gracious way of saying "That was then, and this is now."
It's a great song. Insanely melodic and fast-paced with superb vocals and lyrics. But Yesterday is a masterpiece. It provokes a sadness no other song is able to reproduce. It's the ballad everyone wishes they had written. There's just no comparison.
Joy (luv that name ) I’m 54 years old I wore the mullet(shag) back at the 80s I thought it was cool back then now I don’t think so much.Beatles my first band I listened and the number one on my list.
Paul could write so many great songs that he could throw them away, give them away, or never even record them. Other musicians would give their left arm to be able to write like he does.
I think one of the most fun things about being in a rock band would be making eye contact with the other band members during the show and just sort of smiling at each other like you can see them doing...the solo in this version is awesome too!
is there anything i can do to convince you that interpersonal celebrity smiles can be as dangerous as texting while driving? because i haven't convinced myself, so...
Sometimes a band mate will slightly change a single part of a single measure from the way you have heard so many times in practice or a gig. The change often is so subtle and quickly completed that the band members are the only people that catch it but...it sounded so good in that moment that you just look at each other with wide eyes and huge grins. Those are the moments that you realize all of the practice hours were worth it. Now it is fun time.
@@osamabinladen824 And they helpwd each other. In 1966, Bruce Johnston went to London to meet Lennon and MacCartney, and they helped him meet the bigwigs in showbusiness and music industry to promote their records in UK.
I'll bet that when Paul and Linda were home on the farm, with or without guests, songs like this one would be brought out quite often. Such a great down home feel.
had to come here to pay my respects - I loved the Moody Blues and rewatching this performance has helped me become such a huge fan of Paul, the Beatles, and rock music in general. Thank you for your wonderful gift to the world, Denny. We wish you all the best, and look forward to hearing you play once we join you again
@@1967PONTIACGTO The top is too short and blends to well with the sides to be a Shag. Paul was really the first rocker to wear a mullet. Him and David Bowie too.

What a genius and what a gorgeous man. Loved him when I was 10, love him now I'm 70! My generation has been has been so blessed with this wonderful music.

I heard someone do a rendition of this song lately. He said it was considered a bluegrass song. I thought wow. That maybe he’s right, he said blue grass bands were performing it afterwards. I love this little Diddy. Definitely a toe tapper. I like to sing the high alto on it.
Happy Birthday Paul you are best keep rocking and keep people happy you have been doing it for decades you are the lift and the cure for smiles gd feelings and being happy thanks you are the real deal
I was 15 when the Wings played this tour up in Tacoma Wa. It was huge! I wanted to go sooo bad! My older sister got to see the Beatles as a little girl in 1965. Things got messed up and no way to get way up there. Soooo a friend and I took my 1st car and yea I was just 15 and we attempted to drive ourselves with just my permit from Portland Or. We were scared and excited at the same time. We got pulled over and the Sheriff asked why we were driving and I was honest. He said I understand why you mustered up the nerve to do this but can tell you aren't ready to make this trip yet and he told us to head back and he was going to put a warning so other police would see us if we still tried. He laughed and said this will make a good story when your older and I would love to see Paul McCartney and Wings and that's why I'm letting you go home. So we did and it was a great experience and story.. Still pissed we missed this! lol Also this song and I'll follow the Sun are two of my favorite songs by Paul not just from the Beatles but of all Music.
Greatest pop/rock writer, performer of all time. The volume of songs written by Sir Paul is only exceeded millions and millions of times over by the fans he has brought joy, peace, and happiness to these last 55 years. He has no equal !
great musician and vocalist, but, he needed john to go deeper than cute...hands down, his best songs were with the beatles, while lennon's and harrison's were after they broke up..
@@michaeldonovan4793 nope Paul’s post Beatles work is better than John and George’s in my opinion. The fact that you don’t get his music means you’re the one that needs to dig deeper. Paul’s songs have lots of meaning but it’s sad you can’t understand it
The cool thing about the Beatles is the little gems in between the monuments of Rock. On this album there were songs like "Help!", "Ticket to Ride" and "Yesterday" - so a song like "ive just seen a face" simply went under, although today it would have made a veritable top ten hit out of it.
Told my husband when we were dating in 1985 that when Paul was on TV I didn't know anyone else was in the room. All of these years later , it's still true. I was 3 when I became a Beatles fan. Did get to see Paul and Linda in concert in 1993 what an AWESOME night !!!!!
this song completely matches the emotions you went through when you saw the love of your life for the first time and how you felt that entire day... And paul wrote this in the 60's. I've seen her for the first time just 7 years ago.
Heaps of charisma, ridiculous amounts of talent, a good head on his shoulders, charm and perfect looks... yeah, I don't know what he must have done in a past life to deserve so many gifts, but I am guessing he was a saint or something like that because he is fucking BLESSED!!!
It is THE go-to song when fondness takes hold. It's like butterflies in the stomach set to music. No big and bombastic, but a true masterpiece. Possibly my favorite McCartney song.
Yoko came out of a famous art movement called Fluxus. One has to accept that's the direction John wanted to go--and because of John, Yoko's work went in new directions too.
It’s actually nostalgic and cool, to add a few Beatles tunes to the Paul McCartney/Wings song lineup. This particular song and “Yesterday”. With hits like that, it takes me back to when people were over the moon, for those legendary four men of music. I can’t get enough of it. 🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶
Happy 80th Paul you wrote played lead rhythm bass piano and drummed you are the best in the music business and your voice till today is still there keep on rocking for us
WINGS OVER AMERICA TOUR 1976. A friend & I stood in line at Kemper Arena, Kansas City for 8 hours to get tickets. WORTH EVERY SECOND!! Jimmy M. was amazing; so young . . . so skilled. Miss you, Jimmy.
I came here from "Your Mother Should Know" and before that "Revolution. Now it's on to "Helter Skelter". What a talent McCartney has ! So many good songs to the world and so few yrs left. I hope he and Ringo both hit the century mark before leaving us.
@@fredperucki4851 well, i thought you were pointin' at the wrong album ....after all, this is a video of a HELP sessions track.....if i had written "how i love pink floyd" you might have replied like...'macartney wasn't a member of pink floyd, he was a beatle'......what a great album is rubber soul, indeed.....

This song always puts me in mind of Simon and Garfunkel, I can imagine those two doing a great rendition of it. And it seems casual and throwaway, but it's very catchy and well-crafted.
I've just seen a face, I can't forget the time or place Where we just met. She's just the girl for me And I want all the world to see We've met, mm-mm-mm-m'mm-mm Had it been another day I might have looked the other way And I'd have never been aware. But as it is I'll dream of her Tonight, di-di-di-di'n'di. Falling, yes I am falling, And she keeps calling Me back again. I have never known The like of this, I've been alone And I have missed things And kept out of sight But other girls were never quite Like this, di-di-di-di'n'di. Falling, yes I am falling, And she keeps calling Me back again. Yeah! Bup-a-lup-bup! Falling, yes I am falling, And she keeps calling Me back again. Im so happy they were a band at one point in time because they make me so happy, nd im more than sure they changed the world just a little with every song
Years back I remember hearing this song for first time in a long time and a day later I went to a bar with my boyfriend to watch him play pool and music was playing, then I remember asking him out of a blue if he remembered the Beetles song I've just seen a face, he said he did but that he hadn't heard it in ages. About 10 minutes later, this song started playing while they were playing pool. This was a great memory for me that I think of everytime I ever happen to hear this song and what's interesting is I can't remember many good memories with that person at all and that was over a period of 2 years. You just never know when you're gonna have moment in life right haha lol😂
Here's how oblivious I can be: I only just today realized that Paul went on to work with a guy named"Denny Laine". All this time it was in my ears and in my eyes!
I think that this is the best song by the album "Help!". I think that this is one of the best by The Beatles and the best country song written by The Beatles (this is by McCartney) too.
