I was a WWE wrestler from 2001-2005 and during that time I got on the juice. In this video, I explain how I was introduced to them if I was forced or pressured into doing it, and how exactly I used them.
I always wanted a channel like his, but his delivery is much better than I ever expected. He's a naturally gifted communicator. Wish he had practiced more so he could stay in the business for longer.
@@AnmolMishra946 It's because you've been led to believe that steroids are more dangerous than they actually are. They aren't heroin and can be used responsibly and with a docs supervision.
He's still lying tho so why? he said he only got doctor prescribed legal stuff and then immediately said he took Anavar and winny which aren't available in human grade or through a doc since they aren't even approved for human use.
@@AnmolMishra946because steroids when taken correctly with a doctor is the best way to do it. By no means is it “healthy” but it’s also not like doing crack lol
@@catchemcarlisle5655 You can stop alcohol anytime you want. However if you take steroids there's a high chance you will need them for the rest of your life. One is a short term problem, while the other is a permanent one. That alone makes them just as bad, if not worse than most drugs.
I don't get how ppl think this is some magic formula for quick muscle growth & power increase.. I mean you always pay the price for it sooner or later. Some men wlil have like roid rage or will get depressed when they stop taking it. Heart or back problems etc are common too. It's sad taht so many used it in WWE that other/new wrestlers probably felt like they had no other option than to take steroids themself.. So ye WWE was silently agreeing to this.
@@bekeneel back in the '70s-'80s, many athletes were taking straight high-grade steroids which led to a lot of heart issues & bone problems in the era...later on into the '90s & 2000s, most athletes were using "safer" things such as HGH or other things which didn't have sucha detrimental effect on the organs & bones...but there's still a price to pay. And of course WWE has always been aware
I'm not a Maven fan back in the day but now I see him in a new light. His contents are eye opening and entertaining as well. You will have an undestanding what these wrestlers are going through during their careers. Kudos to you Maven and more power.
I think we found the world’s most genuine person. I have never seen anyone be so kind yet brutally honest about every aspect of their life and career as Maven. From coworkers to bosses, pay stubs to doctor visits, Maven has laid it ALL on the table and I don’t think us as the audience can be thankful enough for it. Bro is a real one for sure.
A lot of wrestlers have podcasts or do youtube, but Maven's stuff is a lot more fun to watch. Entertaining, hits the questions fans actually are curious about, but doesn't take a huge amount of time to get to the meat and potatoes either. Plus the guy has charisma that is great for youtube.
I think it’s also because he’s relatable in the sense that you really feel like he’s one of us. A fan. Who accidentally became a wrestler and then came back to tell us all about it….
I agree with you, man. @@theridz1981 I also like Stevie Richards' channel because he talks about his thoughts on a superstar's signature move or a superstar's controversial move (like Nia Jax's unsafe move on Rhea Ripley).
Maven and Stevie Richards are both doing awesome stuff. Maven more on the entertainment/backstage side and Stevie's in ring breakdown of moments, matches, and incidents.
Not gna lie. Stumbled by his channel by accident and now I’m obsessed with his videos. I’m glad he is doing well for himself A+++ content. I did wonder where he left from wwe
Cool to see an ex wrestler just be so real, honest and really just humble. He’s not shitting on the business on any ex coworkers on the current product he’s just telling his stories while being super grateful and respectful. Maven seems like a pretty stand up dude
Killing it? The dude just taught a bunch of people (including kids) how to do drugs and steroids. This is the most dangerous content he could have created. Absolutely dumb shit!
I love this channel. Maven is out here putting out some good content. Whether it’s enlightening talking about old times in the ring or the harsh realities of pro wrestling, his content is fantastic.
it's really interesting the difference between the two photos before and after. It really doesn't look too incredibly different, I'm surprised Maven got that jacked naturally. The enhanced look isn't monstrously bigger, but it is 100% the difference that makes the WWE look. The traps, the abs, it fills everything out to where it's larger than life, a muscular caricature, and just puts it over the top, beyond reproach is a good term for it
yeah because most other wrestlers have more respect for the business, they don't expose things like this for attention and views because they know it reflects poorly on the WWE.
It's ridiculous for athletes to pretend nobody is on PEDs. Maven is simply showing us what we all already know. Thank you Maven for not lying about it.
Maven this content is amazing I am 42 years old and I remember watching u put on the muscle from seeing u on t.v. and never once thought it was out of control. Or any kind of issue thanks for being so transparent with everyone.
Mave honestly the most impressive thing about your videos is how mentally healthy, sharp and objective you are. Thanks for keeping it 100% real and somehow avoiding turning this into a steroid advertisement, or a list of excuses, or a moral high horse monologue. You are a legit inspiration for how to approach content in a relatable, informative and respectful way.
@@MavenKHuffman I agree too, also regarding what you said in your earlier video that you wont see 64? You will be fine! Arnie and Hogan blasted insane levels of gear and they are still going strong. Wrestlers with monster physiques like Ultimate Warrior died young partly due to blasting gear(think he was one of the first to use GH in wrestling as he was a amateur bodybuilder before entering the business') but his dad also died of an heart attack at a young age so it was partly genetic as well.
Maven can simultaneously reveal the truth behind WWE AND still talk nicely about it as to not destroy the nostalgia and magic of what we grew up with. Great move starting a RU-vid channel, all the best Maven!
Now this is the stuff I appreciate, the honesty about round use, celebritys and wrestlers should take note. It's not as taboo as it used to be. Love this vid Maven.
I love how accountable he is. He always takes responsibility for his own actions and doesn't blame anyone for his choices. Maven seems like a really good guy and friend to have.
I’m 29 years old and this is probably the most honest and informal video on the subject of PED’s I’ve ever seen since I’ve been on the internet. Props man thanks
I’ll be 29 in a week and I’ve done a few cycles from 21-24 and just committed fully to trt now for the rest of my life and I’ll never look back. The higher the dose doesn’t always mean the better results just remember that if you ever get on. Just do it right, get your blood work done and see a doctor
@@Bundy663You mean people with a big career in their hand are less likely to whistleblow than those that long concluded their career? Unless you work at Mcdonalds, you would not whistlw blow anyway. I surely would not whistleblow unnecessarily for internet cred. Unless it was for a serious matter.
ikr? makes no sense that retired talent deny taking gear and refuse to talk about it like its a huge taboo. It would be good for Scott Steiner to disclose his insane stack and the synthol injections into his arms too.
@@Adlata how would it "be good"? it would reflect poorly on the wrestling industry, the wrestlers, the locker room, bodybuilding, and it will encourage more people to embrace the Kevin Owens and CM punk mentality of looking like **** and not lifting weights at all
@@animal1nstinct394 I rather the talent be honest than gaslight fans into thinking their superman physiques was natural. Punk and owens are the opposite, owens isnt as bad because he covers up but CM punk with his high body fat % and gut hanging over his trunks just exposes the business. You don't need to take gear BUT you shouldn't look like a dad bod indy slob who puts not effort in the gym either.
It's so refreshing to hear someone take responsibility for the choices they make. Accountability is Rare these days. We all know the risk and we still make these types of choices. Maven your videos are awesome and I enjoy them. Enjoy your honesty and hearing your story 👍
I’ve gained so much respect for Maven after watching this video. The level of honestly, and accountability has really show how much he has grown. I look forward to seeing more content!
I've been binging his videos and how humble he is really impresses me. Never puts anyone down to make himself seem better and always is honest with admitting his shortcomings.
Maven I will be honest, I didn't follow much of your career because I wasn't watching wrestling at the time due to a crazy school/work schedule...but you have quickly became one of my favorite wrestling youtubers. Putting out some great content!
Still binge watching you Maven - we think you're brilliant, so honest, so entertaining and please keep giving us these great insights into being a WWE wrestler!!! 💜
Maven i remember watching you as kid thank you for the memories you might not of been the most popular but you mattered in my childhood, awesome you are open about it.
You sound like a mark. The reason there's so many people saying the WWE and their cronies screwed them over is because that place is a toxic, adult middle school, where everyone is literally screwing each other over, burying, sabotaging careers, etc...
Damn. It's so refreshing to have someone who went through it all sit down and just lay out the facts as bluntly as possible in a professional way without burying anyone or putting blame on others. Had no idea Maven was so well spoken and forward thinking!
fantastic content man, youve found a great thing here. you already used to be a schoolteacher, so youre already great at talking to an audience. great content man, youre one of the good guys ! we all remember you living your dream in front of the whole world, god bless
I love your videos and how you say the true. Im 27 now and i was a big fan of WWE in the first 10 years of 2000. Please don't stop with this amazing video. Greetings from Italy.
If it has any value it’s good for checking Rec drugs not hormones. Extremely hard to navigate with all the opiates needed to go from show to show to show. They need a 3rd party that acts on the athletes interests when it comes to responsible drug use. Steroids are the absolute least of their worried if anything they EXTEND the careers.
This channel is unbelievable. I had a 10 Hour Dr. ahead of me, and I filled it with watching these videos. I’m most definitely amazed at the transparency, honesty, and accountability for everything. But most of all, the gratitude. So many of these guys have a career in the WWE and talk about it like it was the birth right.. or crush the company, etc. You are very grounded and admittedly had a dream job for which you were very grateful, and even admitted that you could have or should have worked harder at perfecting or mastering your craft within in ring work. Personally, I enjoyed watching your career because I watched tough enough and then I of course watched You on the big stage. This was well done, this video, particularly because you touched on a subject that people constantly avoid. It undermines and insults everyone’s intelligence by acting like it’s not part of the life. Guys that are twice your size claiming to be natural is a complete joke. So it’s rather refreshing to see someone not talking to us like we are idiots. It’s educating everyone on the options. It’s OK I don’t believe you should do this, but if you are going to, let me inform you of what it’s all about. Well done.
I can't thank Maven enough for this informative video. Such an attractive way of educating people. If this same content was printed in an academics journal, then very few would have read it. But your presentation skills have made this technical information accessible to everybody.... Lots of love from Delhi, India.
@@jd9119 maybe his intent was to entertain and not to educate. But still, newbies will be able to derive valuable lessons from his personal experiences with droids
I have never seen an athlete be this transparent and honest before. My new favorite channel because I love getting information that’s OUTSIDE the ring🙏🏾
Great videos. It's refreshing to see a former wrestler that has moved on with their life, and isn't bitter about the way it ended. Best of luck to you, Maven!
Maven is such a likable guy. The more I watch his videos, the more I find myself thinking this guy is really freaking cool. I would love to see him back on one of the big shows.
I had always been a WCW/TNA fan, so some of the talent in WWE during those years, I just don’t have any exposure to. That being said, I love your channel and videos and it’s made me go back and watch some awesome career moments. Thanks for the great content!
WWE should bring this guy back as an interviewer or to be on the ppv preshow panels. He’s a great talker, it’s a shame he never got to get on the mic and show us what he could do as a competitor.
Great video man, it's rare to see some wrestler not only admitting that they use the roids they got the extra mile and explaining the process behind it.
man I have no interest in wrestling nor did I ever watch it growing up but man Mave I respect your honesty and respect and how transparent you are with your audience. nothing but respect for you. keep up the great content I hope everything goes well for you.
Phenomenal video Maven, venturing where few others would dare to go and we thank you for it! Such deep and clear insight into the TRUE world of professional wrestling, no bs, no gimmicks. Wishing you all the best!
Maven, you are an EXTRAORDINARY communicator! How has someone NOT thrown boatloads of cash your way to do commentary or play-by-play! Great job, as usual!👍
Maven I came across your channel recently, and I subscribed I am enjoying your stories and insight into the business you and I both love I watched in my teenage years I am now 33 years old thank you for sharing your experiences with all of us. God bless you.
Hey Maven! I met you once when I was about 10 years old, I was with my dad and uncle and you were super nice and down to earth. This was after your time in WWE, but I thought you were super cool and I've been a fan of yours ever since. Spending 2 minutes talking to a fan can leave an impression that lasts a lifetime. So I guess I wanted to say thank you for being so nice to me when I was a young wrestling fan! 😁 It was the first time I met a wrestler. I'm glad to see you're doing well, and I love your RU-vid channel! Discovered it today, watched everything on it, and will keep coming back! 😁
Hey Maven, so glad you’re doing RU-vid and educating us with these stories. I’ve binged watched them all and can’t wait to hear more stories. (Side note) I voted for you during tough enough days, my dad and I was in the WWF New York restaurant when you won. Awesome memories man. Keep doing a wonderful Job on RU-vid!
Thank you for being honest and transparent. It's tiring to see guys like The Rock and Cena outright deny that they're on steroids, even though it completely defies logic. It's similar to actors over 40 who deny plastic surgery. It sets people up for false expectations. It's a good thing that current wrestlers don't feel as much of that pressure to take them today compared to wrestlers in the pre-2010s.
They might deny it yeah it but they must know people aren't stupid they'll be lucky to hit 60 when you're using as much as they are you don't really get away with it even maven on steroids is no where near as big as they are
@@brianshields7485 when some of your body proportions are far larger than your head its a pretty clear indicator of steroid usage... ive done them in the past and im not bashing anyone who does them, the feeling of raw power and endurance flowing through your body is something that cannot be explained... when i did them it felt like captain america serum, your strength, endurance and muscle recovery triples ... Cena and the Rock are walking pharmacies its obvious that they arent natural especially when hes 50 lol, even if he was a genetic freak it wouldnt be possible to have that body, those proportions are simply impossible to attain naturally regardless on how genetically gifted you are
I'm an IT engineer and I would say any labor sucks when you are not 100%. Just last month I had an episode of bacterial throat infection. And I was dealing with painful throat for couple of weeks due to that. I could not put in 2 weeks of sick leave, so few days I was sitting there with an aching throat and mind in half-crazy state. Well, no work got done of course.
This is some A-Grade Content Maven! You educate youth through your honesty. Your first video just auto-played when I was watching something else linked to WWE. But from there on, I have checked out at least 10 of your videos. You deserve a Sub. And would love to know more about your personal life after WWE.
Maven has elite content. He's such a good speaker and honest about his time in the WWE. He doesnt throw anyone under the bus and tells us his experience to the exact detail. Keep the videos coming, bro. Youre gonna blow up on RU-vid.
These videos are addicting. I stopped watching wrestling right around the time Maven started in WWE. I need to go back and watch some stuff. Really cool guy and very fun to listen to
Awesome content! This is so real, most body builders, gym goers, and heck, even some of your fellow superstars past and present probably wouldn't have the bravery to visit this topic! Subscribed!
I've never understood that if it doesn't involve getting fired from a job, why not admit it? I'm a gym rat at 47 and haven't used anything yet but I probably will eventually and I'll be honest about it
I think Maven and Stevie Richards have become my two favorite wrestlers on this platform. They both provide such a cool, insightful look into the career of a professional wrestler.
We always knew this . Pot was bad but steroids was always a closed curtain type of drug because Vince always wanted the best physiques possible . Pot didn’t help the wrestlers , steroids did. It’s not a “joke” company because these huge wrestlers like Batista and triple H skyrocketed the company . It was a business move in my opinion
Also you may wanna remember that pot possession is a federal felony Billy Bitchcakes 🤣🤣🤣🤣 of course they were gonna ban pot - you're no use anywhere if you get arrested
Maven!!! Avg. Joe here. Love the channel. I was a fan when I saw watched you on Tough Enough. I stopped watching shortly after and wondered what ever happened to you. Glad to hear you have a good 5-6 year career. Your stories are highly entertaining and fully transparent. Appreciate the honesty man. I watch every video so keep up the good work man!
Bro…. The wrong people are gonna hate him so much for this but the right people gonna love him so much for this. The channel we didn’t know we needed. You’re a great man!
This was a great quality video of someone speaking openly about their steroid use, including his regimen, so people understand more about what everything does/entails
