@@stevengoldstein114 I'm glad most people don't have to live like that in Canada. When you force the majority of people to do what you want against their will eventually your cause will lose. Not only will it fail but it will reverse the progress the LGB communities hard won respect over the past 3 decades. And as a brother of a gay man I hate what the LGBTQ++++ activists have done that will in all likelihood help keep the stigma he's had to face alive longer than it should. I'm done with the wider LGBTQ++++ community. I love my brother and his boyfriend but I'm done with the censorship and punishment mentality. Fyi he and a lot of people in the community don't support that either.

I was the first in my family to attend university and get a post graduate degree. My children have graduated from university with B.A., B.Ed, M.A. and Ph.D degrees. I felt that this was the best investment of the family resources. As a teacher, I taught critical thinking skills and encouraged creative thought in my students and was a firm believer in institutions of higher education. Academia has become so corrupted so quickly that I now don’t want my grandchildren even to go to university. They are bright, curious and questioning, attributes that are actively discouraged by schools infected with ideological nonsense. I would prefer that they travel, pursue their own interests and grow into well rounded individuals who can investigate and evaluate situations to come to their own conclusions.

Couldn’t agree more. My wife is a vet (bark not bang) and I’m an engineer. I’m encouraging my son toward the trades. I’m teaching him wiring and woodworking. He helps me with projects around the house. He can’t sweat copper that well yet, but we’ll get there. My daughter thinks welding is the coolest thing ever. 10 years old, so it may change, but she’s been quite keen for a while and a woman welder…any outfit would jump through their own butts to hire a female welder just for the DEI points.

I believe Dr Peterson is setting up a university course. As a business owner, I would much rather employ someone with a degree from this establishment, as I feel I would get someone with the ability to defer gratification and conduct themselves respectfully, rather than a lazy grifter who’d rather complain about what they were being taught than do any work

Good for you! Everyone should boycott them. As a humble grad (long ago) of U of T I have stopped sending funds to them. I think the straw that broke the camel's back was an article in the University Mag inviting students to some club (I think for engineering students) but to my horror I learned White students were not allowed! I feel so sad and want NOTHING MORE to do with that traitorous establishment.

Not really mate... this has been going on since the 60s.. is absolutely zero news in anything that is shown or discussed here and Peterson was only one person of many who managed to get popular in the media and therefore this was exposed better in social media to people like you, people that never had any issues at all with authorities like universities boards kicking out students and cancel their academic work .... this happened to me as well and to many, mostly men, but also women that stood up for facts and honesty, and it happened long before you were mostly even around... but the institutions are still standing and they are all still thriving, they are on their peak of populatiry even if you in person do not go there or invest in them, they have not bee affected a cent due to their constant opression of intellectual professors and students, rather showing off WOKE and in action why they are. a Rainbow certified college they have increased in populatity and even more so in getting more money from both governmental bureuaas and privaet investors... you know, Hitler's bunch of thugs in academia did not loose popularity due to them killing Jews, they thrived on top of there viewpoints of why certain people should not be let to join the higher education!

Dr Peterson, you should consider developing a private prestigious College/ University that promotes critical thinking, scrutiny and debate in various subjects! Develop a new generation of politicians, doctors, scientists that are active critical thinkers and problem solvers! A College/University, that encourages challenging mainstream narratives! You are very well connected to find capable instructors and professors. Start small, and build up, with private and company donations! NO Government Funding with NO Government narratives!

It was said that Socrates had cried after his sentencing. Not because he was sentenced to death, but because of the intellectual hypocrisy that threatened the Athenian Council and the Greeks of the time. Now we face a similar "intellectual upheaval" and of course the condemnation of a single man, a "scapegoat" if you will. And that is Jordan Peterson. Because he stands for an institution that has stood the test of time for millenia. It's truly saddening when a man like Jordan Peterson cries. Not for the successes of those whon he has tried to help, but the failures of academia to truly understand that all he wanted to do is help. All he wanted to do is find sanity in an otherwise insane world. And what is his thanks? Being the "offering" to the tin gods of academia who bow their knee to a pathetic few, while the many sit in despair as the world we once knew plunges deeper into depravity and utter confusion. For what it's worth? Thank you Jordan, even if all you end up is with an academia full of deafness and defeat, we know you tried.

In the US, many states have Civil Rights laws protecting employees against discrimination based on "Creed" or Philosophical Beliefs. Those employers telling employees what pronouns to use that contradict employees' philosophical beliefs may just be illegally abusing their employees civil rights opening employers up to massive law suits.

As a Canadian I refuse to use pronouns. I refer to people by saying the person who is Michael or the person who is Julia or this person or that person, and that way I don't have to use "they them" or any other jargon. It might be more cumbersome verbally but that way I get to stand with Jordan and my own opinions as well.

Why not just...I don't know...NOT refer to them at all? Maybe I'm crazy, but collectively ignoring their weakness seems like a good way to go, rather than getting caught up in their delusions and making it our problem. I understand the need to debate insanity, but at this point, is it even worth it? I guess I can't speak for professors of higher education establishments, but idk...I'd give it a try.

also, there’s this insanity: When I was in midwifery school, some outspoken opinionated people MADE the laurentian university midwifery curriculum change all of their courses to read "pregnant person" instead of pregnant woman. Or woman at all. And remove all mention of mom or mother. It almost drove me insane. Until I realized what a small percentage of the population this actually was and what a LOUD voice they had.
