It’s crazy how many high quality Chinese games have been coming out or started getting traction in the past 2 years Chinese developers really been steppin’ it up.... I mean we got where the winds meet, black myth wukomh, genshin impact, lost soul aside and so many others!

I don't know much about the game but what I get from it is it's going for the "Wuxia" style of story from Chinese media, particularly stories and poems. Stories of martial heroes using the power of martial arts and Qi-gong to save the day with mystical fights against monsters and man. These usually take place in ancient China (like this game) or some other old time setting. It's a rather popular genre and has made it's way to film as well.
@@dag7308 it's Wuxia. Since it's still take place in China, modified maybe, but it's still earth. Xianxia in other hand is Multiverse of Madness kind of crazy
Wuxia is mostly kungfu based world where they mainly use physical techniques with minimal qi usage Xianxia is wuxia on steroid where it focuses more on qi training and their usual goal is to become a god/immortal(wuxia is still mortal) Xuanhuan is the general fantasy genre and is usually geared more towards the usual west fantasy stuff
it’s awesome to see game devs start to take more of an interest into chinese history & folklore, glad we’re getting something new that isn’t based in the world of samurai or ninja. 2023 is gonna be a fun year with Wo Long & Wukong coming out and hopefully this one at the end of the year.
Yeah, a wuxia game. A genre in Chinese literature that was MADE to be in a game, like seriously the whole thing about wuxia are people with super powered martial arts and riding on swords, why the hell did it took this long.

It's about cultivation, which is the chinese fantasy art of progressive strength gain. It's all about building a foundation and gathering qi in order to make your character near super human. I actually make a video game in this genre.
This seems like ghost of tsushima but instead of being inspired by old samurai movies it's inpsired by chinese cinema (wuxia movies?) which alrady makes a big difference. Definitively looking forward to this, especially if the combat is good

Strangely this is the first time I've seen this game. I follow games and leaks pretty closely and it's interesting to me the way the Chinese market is burgeoning with AAA material completely out of nowhere, from studios without prior history. And they're making these games so quickly that it's honestly astonishing. Just a few months ago Black Myth Wu Kong appeared to be in development trouble for an indeterminate about of time, now it's out with an 8 minute gameplay trailer with a potential 2023 release date, it's crazy. I hope this and Black Myth set a good pace for the global Chinese AAA market, because it looks promising.
