@@digdrivediy He seemed chill, even though you were so unsure about the colorchoice, and he NAILED it. Try the silver black theme. Paint your rims black and use the chrome caps with it. uuuuuuuuuh i am excited!!!
You did a great job, Neil! Without irrigation to keep new seed moist at ALL times, germination will be hindered. Dropping the seed in January or February, called frost seeding, is a way to capitalize on late winter early spring freezing and thawing which opens up the ground for the seed to fall in and germinate as the spring rains naturally occur. That’s how weed seeds do it. Unless you want to be the groundskeeper, at this point I’d say you can clock out on this job. Again, from an uber-picky lawn guy, well done, Neil!
The truck looks great in silver. Can’t wait to see the next steps! The 6 acre lawn will be wonderful in the spring. Gotta have faith! Thanks for sharing your experience.
Boy the silver looks amazing. I would take that over black or red any day. They did a fantastic job and 2 dump trucks for 6 acres of grading and seeding! I think you may have came out on top on that deal but super impressed with the silver on the 750. These guys did a great job
Truck looks great, can't wait to see the final touches. The grass looks like it's coming along to, I also heard that straw also helps hold heat to help the seed germinate. We used to do that all the time in Northeast Ohio in the fall seedings.
Gm Neil! Wow! There is so much to unpack in this one. The 6 acre property looks amazing! You have your imprint and influence all thru the project. It was good to see you use your pull type grade box and just the walk around, it looks so good. Your story telling is simply the best..Your truck looks AMAZING! Absolutely love the silver, I appreciated your ability to organize the shop to prepare for storage, making things more efficient! You are the BEST! I need some of your merch too, love the sweatshirt! Just amazing video and content. Preaching this morning at church, This was a good way to start the day! Talk with you this week!
Excellent color choice, always been my own personal color choice, I believe you will be very happy with it. They did a beautiful job on the truck and even went beyond the call of duty from what I can see. Thanks for the update, the grass will pop next spring, the yard will look as awesome as the 750 does now, enjoyed watching that ear to ear smile when you saw the finish truck.😊😊😊
With that silver; a bold, black (bottom) fade up to the silver (top) would be sweet and you could have that as a vinyl wrap for easy installation and easy to replicate across the three vehicles!
Great looking truck Neil. Love the color. And excited to see the Tri axle truck get painted as well. I had no idea that the cost of the lawn planting was equal to two paint jobs. But good for you.
Yeah Leo is a much different place than when I lived there in the 80’s and 90’s. The fields I grew up riding dirt bikes and go karts on are now subdivisions. I spent a good bit of time at my best friend’s house in Harlan growing up they live on Darling Rd.
Yes! Slightly hungover from a wonderful Moonjam koncert last night. Sunday has become self-pity/couch day. And here comes Niel. Being productive when others fail to be. Cheers mate, for easing out my Sunday.
The silver was my color suggestion & I’m glad you went with it - it’s the cat’s pajamas!! I can’t wait to see Louie get the same treatment! I think you’ll find silver to be the color that will hold up once you start using the trucks again…whether it be the showing up of dirt or even light scratches & dents…it hides well & reveals little as compared to other colors! Great choice!
Man it is all looking so good Sir. Very cool. It never fails to impress how a plan and some hard work can really make thinks happen. Stay safe. Speaking of how is you leg doing? Did that nasty bruise heal up?
I like the silver. Just roll with it. 47 years working in a body shop, believe me 2 trucks is a good trade for a 6 acre yard. That shade of silver will look great on Bronco.
Silver looks good. Great color to hide the dirt. My suggestion would be to paint the Cab center section black like the Broncos center section. And then in the lower door, just behind the wheel arch, put you D D D logo in your channel colors
glad you showed the grass, all we need is rain.and straw is the way to go.he did an amazing job on the truck, color is good.a little black will make that color pop.the little things he did are what makes the truck better to use.nice job by both you guys.
Neil, i am an optician and i see your skin seems red at the cheeks. at 7:17. It might be, that you are allergic to the plastic of your frame in combination to sweat and skin fat. If its not bothering you just put some lotion on, but otherwise chose a titanium frame next time. Sometimes to irritation affects the eyes and they are itchy all the time. No other major sideeffects. Greetings from germany
Thanks I sure appreciate that info. I always have wondered why I get that redness sometimes. It happens regardless of wearing my glasses though so it might be something else causing it. I’m not sure why some days it’s there and other days it isn’t. Doesn’t bother me at all though and often times I don’t even know it’s red unless someone tells me in which I did have a friend mention it that very day.
@@digdrivediy I have the same redness actually thats why i was refering to it. I have an allergy for pork, paprika and everything spicy. You might give it a try and eat all of these in a chinese dish or so and see if the face gets red as the sun, or it doesnt affect you. Anyways. I LOVE the color if the truck. I have a mercedes w108 in silver metallic and i adore silver paints. they are just different to colors like blue or green. They just suit every secondary color.
Congratulations on getting your dump truck back. You read my comment from before 😂. The silver is nice on the cab, I think I would have kept the dump bed a color you could easily touch up with a rattle can. Great creativity on the shelving units to make a longer run by ditching the bottom shelf, I never would have thought of that.
It looks great! I'd commented back then about the color... a shade of silver or charcoal gray and using your DDD colors for the stripe... That's your brand... He did a really nice job!!! The tank and the step... Wow!!! Shiny!!! Oh... nice drivers seat...😂😂😂 A milk create and cushion... must've been a comfy ride home... My only "criticism" is that the dents/dings in the dump body are really visible with that color... but it's an old truck and it gives it character!!! Can't wait to see what gets chosen for the stripe colors!!! The 6 acre property is looking good too!!! You can really tell where the straw was laid... big difference!!!
I Have to say it looks Awesome driving down the road turning into your driveway I can see the potential .Stick with the silver and black theme ! FYI I'm a retired automotive paint rep/instructor of 28yrs worked for all major paint companies and even painted a famous paint companies Nascar ..
FINALLY!!!! The F750 looking great! The silver streak. Glad you’re doing the Louie to. Even swap. Looking forward to that paint job & the restoration of your truck.
Silver is the best choice! That was a long journey for you & your F750. So glad you are on the brink. F750/Louie/ Bronco all lined up can’t wait to see that. You might have to sell your black truck 🙃. Neil I am so glad I found your channel. Between what you do, your huge family & friends soooo EPIC. Thanks for what you do . Love every minute of it. PS need to see your dad more.
The truck looks awesome and when you start putting your decals and stripes on it will change as well. So really think through that part of it. Always top notch, Koch!😳😂
Silver and black was a perfect choice for a working vehicle that will be around dust, dirt, and mud. It won't show the dirt as readily as black would have and white hides nothing and can look trashy at the first sign of rust. The folks giving John a hard time probably have little idea how expensive major body work and a full paint job can get. I grant that you worked hard for your side of this bargain Neil but I gotta give John his due. Nice work gentlemen!
I bought my first brand new truck in 2023 after driving my father's 1997 green Chev pick-up since my father passed in 2008. (All my friends said "Well at least you didn't rush into buying a new truck...") And it was a F150 Crew cab with that same color. I also had a tough time choosing between Black or the Grey. I am so glad I chose the Grey. It looks great. So very good choice.
Love the colour, you can really bring in any colour on the grey and it will still looks great. Do the Bronco and convert it in a tiny motorhome when you one day on pension you and the wife can tour the world.👍💯
OMG!!! looks great, not a bad trade - new lawn for essentially an outside refurb. You and John look like kids in a candy shop looking over the truck, thats what its all about.
The dump truck looks great! I really like the silver, but I agree it needs an accent color. I highly recommend a foam cannon for a pressure washer. Admittedly, it won’t do as good of a job as a hand wash, but it’s great for quick maintenance cleanings between hand washes.
Hi Neil, great job on the 6 acre job. And the truck looks great. You definitely need a drivers side seat!! A suggestion if you are still going with that 2 tone stripe idea you. Think about keeping it withing the same colors as the new paint job. Like have them a shade of black to darker/lighter grey silver to accent the rest of the paint job. 🙂
My first car was a Ford Maverick that I painted black with the over lapping yellow orange and red stripes, my first truck 1979 F250 I painted black with grey sides two tone, I got a lot of compliments on both of them, that dump truck looks good with that modern silver it looks 20 years newer
Thanks Steve! It took me nearly a month to wash my black pickup truck so I knew I wasn’t cut out to keep two black dumps clean. Now I need to find a different pickup… :)
