Well to be fair adamancipator didn't really have any real competiton for most if it's lifrspan, and even then didn't synchro eldlich win like all the online events? While not directly comparable to the tcg, after seeing some play, adamancipator quickly fell out of favour in master duel tournaments, a format with actually good decks at the top

​@@andrejv.2834 Adamancipator quickly loses relevance as soon as the pile era of DPE/Adventure starts. They can't fit in external engines (or any non-rocks) without hurting their consistency, and don't contend well with the hand traps that become more popular at that point in the meta, like Ogre, Imperm and Lancea.

@@milesandrews6711 Well you can't spam Dilinquent duo in every deck under the sun either, for the same reason why you can't spam Raigeki, Harpie's Feather Duster, Change of Heart, and a bunch of other power 1 ofs/3 ofs that reduce the overall consistency of your deck. The difference with duo is that it can be used going first, but the actual payoff of the card isn't even that much. It's a +1 that doesn't help to extend your combo and can only slightly weaken your opponent's board. And if your opponent spends there entire hand turn 1, then it has the reverse problem of board breakers, where it can't even be activated going second. It would be an option in some highly consistent decks and probably exclusively boarder in from the side for when you know you're going first.

That was with it's first wave of support tho. People where saying it was tier -1 when it first released and then procceded to get 0 tops at any event. After it's second wave of support he agreed it was tier 1 tho

And he was right. Floo didn't become meta until it got Advent of Adventure to help them dodge hand traps and increase their overall consistency. The only reason it's dominating Master Duel is because you can't board into Artifact Lancea or Droll & Lock Bird.

Well the deck is very inconsistent without advent adventure and some simorgh cards, not to mention droll and lancea on side deck just staright up kill the deck, but if youre talking about master duel sure floow is strong there, but i dont see it wins any tournament in there.

It's funny, aside from Widow Anchor, the best part of Striker is the monsters, all of which have "proper" restrictions that limit you to a summon a turn. Most modern lists don't even play most of the other Striker spells at more than 1, making their lack of usage restrictions irrelevant. But with a dump & pickup option that sidesteps Ash Blossom they don't need most of them at more than one anyway, the extras just serve to brick the deck. 3 Engage was nutty less for the "it might be Pot of Greed!" aspect than it was for getting more spells in grave to actually make the other spells worth playing and Red and Blue harder to out. People were even willing to try playing the deck without it despite being much worse off, which didn't work out too well, but it says a lot that people were actually willing to try. Even if it were a HOPT it would still be worth playing, but as long as Ash Blossom is a staple there's few searchers I think that should be hard once per turns(even though many are), too many decks just fall flat as soon as ONE search is interrupted. This is a deck that can get away with it being a HOPT though. And while some can argue Drones is also broken, that's mainly as an engine splash for Link climbing that has little do do with making the actual deck good, if that thing had a proper xenolock the deck wouldn't have to wait for Linkage to fix its consistency issues(but is still going to want it for its utility in breaking boards and closing out games) because it would have probably slipped under the rader if it wasn't being abused by every single deck under MR4 that needed a generic Link 2 option to set up their plays. Which was nearly all of them, including one of the other top decks of the time. Still doesn't change how I feel that spot removal options having HOPT restrictions is holding tons of Control decks back. Labrynth sorta works because it can just run old generic traps without those restrictions and Trap Trick can help search those. Mysterune can hide its spells in its hand so they might have been afraid of that being TOO powerful, but they already lock themselves out of battle to try for a deckout so I dunno. Eldlich has a LOT of easily searchable things, but still relies on Lord of the Heavenly Prison to make sure it can get to all the non-lingering ones, or that it's in a positon to send away the ones that would for more searches. Speaking of searchables, Generic Continuous stuff always feels sacky since Konami refuses to print good ways to search the things. That hasn't stopped floodgates from being the most common sidedeck options in the game though, with people often killing deck consistency to run a bunch of them to steal the siding games. I mean, you don't really need a full end board if 1 negate and a targeted floodgate is enough to make even the best decks unplayable. If Control decks could search those things without combo players easily getting their mitts on them then they'd have a lot more to work with than digging with Prosperity into Skill Drain or Search Mine Pass Turn.
