Preserve Tradition looks super sweet in Zen! Tuck a combo card back into the deck, and then pitch to the Chi effect, get a crouching tiger in hand, AND get that same combo card back? Qi Unleashed especially seems great, either all in the same turn, or just picking up one you've played in a previous turn!!

I'm simply looking forward to seeing everyone's deckbuild with these cards, putting too many cards that see chi can be bad because they depend on something happening and that can slow you down, but putting too few can make you never get to them when you need them, besides transforming the card into chi at the end of the game can kill you due to the lack of blocking and having it go to the cemetery would help you not to buy it in a turn that you need to block and not transforming makes you lose a "value" in the future, I'll love it see the second cycles being decided by the decision-making of the first cycle with them

5:41 Well, assuming it’s only 12 cards that CAN transcend, we know that any given deck can only run a total of 10 (the secret arts of the other two classes would be excluded). Odds of drawing 1+ transcend cards is ~53%, but that doesn’t account for the other blue card you would need to trigger the ascension.

Max 10. Could be more class specifics. Or it could go the opposite the legendary are a few stronger ones. Then there could be a three of that is like transcend nothing else.

I gotta say if all the instants dont block thatll suck for assassin, illusionist has ward and 40 health so theyre fine, ninja doesnt block much anyways so theyll be fine too. Assassins entire cardpool is defensive and kind of clashes with a deck of non blocks, and there isnt enough set slots to guarantee an assassin that needs no existing staples so itll be stuck

my take on is that Fang Strike and Slither are either Reactions or Action cards assisting in pushing dmg if stealth atk are still capped to 3. Or avoid dmg by slithering your way out.

The put to your hand mechanic seems very relevant to combo like Preserve with the domain cards. Play a zero blue then preserve gets you 3 use that to pay for like jade domain. That turns into chi cards still in hand. I still feel like the non legendary just says 0 instant transcend no hoops but no bonus effect.

My guess is that pure Mystic cards will only be blue, similar to how pure draconic cards were only red. Or the ones that transcend will only be blue. Though a transcend for 1-2 resources would be interesting. Not sure how I feel on the transcend mechanic yet as this is a draft set, but maybe there'll be a token similar to the dragons in UPR.

Also has anyone else noticed the last talented Ninja was Zuko from ATLA, and this one is just Aang wearing blue? I love it, Im here for it, but why is no one talking about it?

Eh, zen doesn't really look like Aang tbh. They have somewhat similar aesthetics, but that's expected as they are both drawing from the same general source material.

Yea I didn’t realize fai was zuko until I watched the live action and was like “haha ozai kinda looks like the emperor…and fai has a scar on the left side of his face…and his sister opposes him and sides with the emperor…” which means Aang is actually arakni 😂

I heard a Theorie that Enigma will have a Demi Hero transformation like Levia or Teklovossen. (when you read from her description, you could reach such a theory) Maybe is a card that costs 9 Chi and you need two cycles to be able to activate it. It would be very very cool

If we look to the marvel counts for hints: 18 total 6 are heroes 3 are mystic and class locked 9 would be these mystic talented? So a mystic hero could run 10 since 2 others are locked out to other classes? Assuming all are legendary

This seems like a clunky mechanic. You would be flipping a lot of cards and then pitching no blocks back into your deck. Or do you flip them back before you pitch stack them?

Im excited for this set to come out but I feel like Nuu will not stack up well enough against the other characters. She seems too dependent on Chi. Hopefully, her instant effect is more of a cherry on top rather than her necessary game plan. I sure hope Nuu also has good weapons.

Literally had to open up my computer after watching this on my projector to comment... This is not ideally suited for the market it's debuting in lol. There are like 2 Japanese themed arts (so far) and the rest including heros are all Chinese. If it was suited for the market debut (that being Japanese language in Japan), then it would have been Japanese themed heros. The fact that they chose a wholistically Chinese theme (heros and Chi mechanic) is a pretty wild cultural slap to the face for a Japanese language and country debut. Whoever got this THAT wrong at LSS... big yikes to be that unaware. But we'll see how it goes. They aren't as sensitive as American's are, but still feels like a oh crap moment to me. Also... the fact that every set is coming out with a new mechanic/keyword function is getting into Yugioh territory where you'll take 15 minutes on one turn to do some weird shenanigans and the whole game is uneventful. I'd love to start seeing them widen the existing mechanics and keywords instead of adding onto the madness. But that's just me as a casual enjoyer of the game and having fun.

Alright. I think there may be too many marvels. Having them for the heroes and these other cards seems a little much. I think it’ll make the marvels a lot less valuable when there are so many. Dragons are a good example of this
