The very first Holden car rolled off the production line at Fishermans Bend in Melbourne, not in Adelaide. How do I know this? Because my Father worked there and made the pistons and conrods for the FX 48/215! Holden in Adelaide made wooden coaches pulled by horses, not motor vehicles.

The one thing I noticed going around Adelaide was the housing being all brick without weatherboard housing. A local pointed out that they don’t have the forestry for so much timber construction as other states, but lots of stone masonry.

As a born and bred Adelaidian who has lived interstate for a few years… I disagree! Adelaide is actually a lot better in the past few years and I’ve moved back because there’s so much more happening. It’s getting old perpetuating the same old lies about Adelaide… it used to be like this but it’s changed so much in the last 5 years! Also… you forgot our petrol stations… we have the best petrol stations in Aus 😂

@Feline Therapy What I love🍷about Adelaidians is most are REALLY comfortable talking about wine. Nearly every family seems to have someone working vintage, studying oenology, supplying machinery of packaging to vineyards, holiday job at the cellar door etc etc No airs or graces on show (unlike ahemm other states). Your Jim's Mowing guy, your fisherman, your taxi driver, your hairdresser or nail technician - they can all have a chat about wine styles, grapes, favourite regions and producers 👏

@@LoneWolf-sh1ph yeah, my mother passed away middle of last year. I came over to adelaide to be close to her in 2015, she was in her 90s. She loved it here. I missed my mates and water skiing, camping, going to the footy, cycling, missed the cooler weather too. And my regular grapefruit breakfasts which I can't get here. I think where you grow up you always have a bond to it. I'm going to the Fringe festival next week with my cousin, its a highlight of being in adelaide. Hopefully we're done with the hot weather? 😉

Only 80 cents in Melbourne. I hate hot weather, your t shirt sticks to the seat in your car. You need to take 4 cold showers a day to keep cool. Sunburn, no fun. I was up in the snow at Mt Hotham and Sassafras Gap in Vic in November, no overheating cooling system of my car, ran well. I have a couple of local mates on the UHF CB radio here that hate hot weather. 28°C is about my limit. Ok enjoy your weekend under the rock! 🍻

Only went to Adelaide once and to the movies in the city and had to stack one seat on top of another to be able to sit down. Then tried to buy grapes hahahaha eventually got some off the back of a truck...literally, they were hanging off a truck.

@@gregors00 yeah everybody has different needs. The Mount Gambier stone houses look good especially with the nice corrugated roofs. I love near Norwood and the surrounding areas are really good. The thing that ruins it for me is living in joined units with noisy dosrespectful Indians next door.
