Of all the parodies this is the most accurate, I used to work in a bar in the ACT and the whole department of various offices spent their whole day at that bar, I viewed them as furniture with names.
I’m not a Canberran but I feel there’s just this one something missing… Q: What’s the name of the road that you take to get from Civic to Parliament House? A: LANE ONE FORM! Q: Correct!
Omg 😂 When I first moved to canberra I was 7 and we drove past the owl, my 4 older siblings and parents couldn't stop laughing and I cried because I didn't get it
OH MY GOODNESS!! I did not realise you’re the Giggle and Hoot guy!! I watched you a bunch in the Children’s hospital growing up, so glad to see you now 💕💕
I live in canberra and I'm so glad someone is finally acknowledging how ridiculous of a place this is 😂 I love your videos and I grew up watching "giggle and hoot" so never stop being such a hilarious guy for me to grow up with!!
I lived there for 4 years recently. Worked in Manuka. Had to remember to pronounce it as 'my-new-car' so as to not upset the locals. If the weather doesn't kill you the drivers will. Roundabouts = psycho circles. Weird place. Never again. You nailed it.
LOL, I've worked in Canberra for over 10 years did not live there. The place is bizarre to say the least. I you're going to work there don't tell anyone you're not from there, it's a ghost town most of the time then the weekend comes and the shit hits the fan, you can't even get out of Ikea from that roundabout. Civic is like groundhog day ,you see the same people buying coffee everyday whilst you try to navigate between the pedestrians and road obstacles and cars and bikes while you watch the homeless sleeping around the place. Too many odd things to list here , you have to be there to believe it. Queanbeyan is actually a nice place with real people, canberrians mostly drive through it to get to spotlight or Batemans bay.
@@dosomething7930 you must be a political staffer if you worked in Canberra a decade but never lived there. Thats a weird life. The disconnect they have from the community in Canberra is unbelievable. If you think people buying coffee, road obstacles, cars, bikes and homeless people in any city are weird things to see.... Maybe it's not Canberra that's weird.
As an employee at canberra airport. I can confirm that we do infact secretly store the moon in our foyer, as it is the only place big enough to hold it.
More truth came out of that 3 min 52 sec seconds, than has come out of Canberra since federation. Don't get me started on the stenographers, that are MSM. 🤣🤣
That so funny i laughed so much, i live in Canberra and theres very little to laugh about but one adapts as long as u dont loose your sence of humour going round another round about- thanks for the cheering me up- hilarious!
We went on camp to Canberra from Melbourne and we actually flew there in a small plane (this was in the 1970's and I'm actually blown away by that fact as I type! It was a bog standard state run high school) and the only thing I recall is two of the students threw up as soon as we got off the plane.
The bike paths in Canberra are great for e scooters, ebikes, walking , running, pramming and a paved area to put your chair or car parking spot on if the there is no more space to be found.
Bahahaha!!!! Spot on perfect!!!! Had to watch it twice because I was laughing so hard through the first time!!! Thank you, Jimmy!!!! P.S. Canberra is certainly known for its pot(holes)!
100% well said!! How did you know I was a primary school student who frequented Canberra on many excursions? 😂 I didn't know it was a common thing? Can't wait for an adult holiday there soon though
I prefer to run around the lake than do my work in the public sector. Then eat lunch, catch up on the news, wander around the office, get a coffee etc etc
Fuck man, slow down. You will make everyone else who is sleeping off the Liquid Lunch from PJ Orielly's look bad! Instead of wandering, staggering might help out also.
Funny thing is a lot of that was true. but now we mostly go to Capital Brewery or Bentspoke, no-one goes to the Mooses Head anymore... well unless you're under 20.
I love Canberra, but only as I went there alot as a child & haven't been back there as an adult yet 😂 Good place for a holiday I think since exploring it as a young 1 & found memories.
oh my god. I already lost it at the Costco comment, but having grown up in Tuggeranong + gone to pine island a bunch as a kid...this hits way, way too close to home LMFAO
Actually Canberra’s biggest export might just be working from home jobs. My husband isn’t the only person employed by a govt-associated entity who is now working interstate!
As a Canberran the only I have to say for people that want to live here: 1. Don't 2. If you did come LEAVE No this isn't racist it's just Canberra isn't worth your time :)
Having lived in Canberra that is so true. Except the bit where people leaving, unless you are public servant or work for the government, you'd stay lol
After the Manuka pronuciation I was laughing for the rest of the video. Was a student and was living out by Manuka and I was producing properly and people were getting confused about where I lived until they realised what I was talking about told me I was saying it wrong ITS MANAka not Manooka eventually I adopted it because student and having mates over eventually I was like we'll stop in Manaka for grog on the way to mine or we can drink there and go to the movies. I think that cinema finally shut up shop actually due to covid. But I was a student as soon as I finished I left :P
