I WASN'T PREPARED for what I SAW! - Mizuno Pro 243 Irons Review 

I just picked up the Mizuno Pro Fli-Hi 4 iron and I am so impressed with the distance and accuracy. I'm 67 and was looking for a fairway iron, this really fits the bill! Mizuno is really making some nice clubs right now!

Another enjoyable video, Gabe. Thank you. How would you compare the 243s and 245s with the more affordable forged Maltby irons you reviewed recently, assuming equivalent shafts? It seems the 245s have more similar design characteristics, but the lofts are closer to the 243s.

I remember hitting both the 223 and 225, I felt like the 223 was every bit as good as 225s, but was worried if I bought the 223s and I had a bad ball striking day I would be unhappy. Bought the 225s and they were ok, but not quite as good on the course for me. I ended up in the Srixon ZX5 MK iis with graphite shafts to ease some elbow pain I was having and I am still happy with these irons. In the hitting bay, the 223s and 225 both felt very soft.

Just ordered a custom set of 243s yesterday! Can't wait to get out on the course with them!

I have the JPX HM Pro irons now but i stopped in to hit the new Pro 245's and liked them but not as much as I thought I would. Then just for fun I hit the 243 and WOW! they feel so incredible. I am a 9 handicap and I did not think the 243's would be for me but I couldn't have been more wrong. They are beautiful and feel amazing. Those will be my next irons for sure.

I hit the 245s and the Ping Blueprint S yesterday just for fun... I may end up gaming the Pings... they are definitely about as far into the players category as I would venture, but dang they are nice, and surprisingly about as long as my P770s, with amazing feel and better spin/launch. Also surprisingly more forgiving than I would have thought. Hope to see you get your hands on some Blueprint S's! This was a great review as always, Gabe!

Got in 9 holes Sunday. I played with my 10 year old grandson. It was raining, so we played fast. I pulled two clubs out of my bag and left my putter in my bag and played his putter. I picked a 5 wood and 7 iron. I shot a 42 on the same 9 on Friday. Had a double bogey on 7 and 9. That’s one less than I had playing with all my clubs on Friday. Take away: going to play 9 with a half set this week. Not keep score. Have fun.

There are irons out there, new or old, that just feel so right at impact, great trajectory, turf interaction is spot on, And are complete eye candy in the bag. Can't hit them enough. I'd say Mizuno has made quite a lot of irons as described! Nice irons there!

So if you were to combo set these. What long irons would you choose for both distance and forgiveness. The 245s or 923HM pros.

Just was fit for 243’s with nippon 120s shafts. Going to the 7 at 33 degrees instead of 32 and following the 1 degree back for each club. Was using 20 year old MP 60’s so I am pumped to get them.

So would you buy these over the 223s, or save the money and buy the previous model? How about the real difference between these and say the JPX 923 Forged (or even the 245/225 vs the Hot Metal Pro)? I am decent iron player, but would probably be better served with sticking with a stock shot and don't really need to do a lot of shaping (or maybe it is I just don't really have the ability to!). So I'm probably going to look at the other options. I want the most forgiving iron that I can stand to look at, and with Mizunos you can pretty much stand to look at all of them!

I hit the 7i a few weeks ago and love the feel. I like the forgiveness and want to try the 245 as well. My issue is I don’t want 245 distance but want the forgiveness in 6,5,4 irons. My 34° 7i is my 175 club. I don’t want 190! 243 is already going to push to about 180-185 ish. I guess my question is, if I am a decent ball striker but want more forgiveness in my long irons, coming from 921 tours, is the 243 enough forgiveness? On the other side, does the 245 have enough stopping power especially when I flight my shots? The big box fitters never have a whole set for demo, and outside fitters simply don’t exist where I am. I hate doing it only on a sim because I look like a 5 handicapper whereas I want to see what the real turf interaction is like. How do you pick the right club in that case? Ideally, I’d want the 245 in long irons with standard loft WITH the updated bounce, not just bent to 34° for the 7. Curious how they were built for Luke Donald because I know he likes the forgiveness, but what other modifications did they do for him to not have his ball rolling 20 ft after landing with lower spin?

At $200 a club with MMT 105s no upcharge the 243 is the best deal going right now.

In another video, you were looking for videographers, but something unique about you is the point of view you talk to us, which is pretty cool. Whispering, leaning into the camera. No one else does that, and I like it. I imagine it is because your camera is placed in your bag, and you get close to talking. Would you lose that if you got a videographer?

I love my 923 hot metals. Mizuno is by favorite irons.

Are they better then your edels

I'm still playing with my 921 hot metal irons and they're easily the best irons I've used.

I hit those and the 245s during my fitting. They are too heavy and don't like how they hit.

The 243 is EVEN BETTER and easier to hit than the 223's.

Can we get a review of the ball you are playing and what it is. For me the ball is more important than the clubs. Only thing you use on every shot.

Mizuno are just to high. Yiu can get a number of clubs from Pxg cheaper. Forged, custom fit , shafts etc Pxg is hard to beat now as far as golf equipment. Really is if you get the heroes pricing also

Every year i get new irons. You would be stupid not to, the new technology will make you shoot lower scores, hitting straighter and further.

You play a super stiff shaft. You have to swing that shaft hard to get it optimal.
