Watching every Yoshi commercial we could find!
You thought Yoshi was just a Super Mario sidekick? NO, forget Mario - who needs him. Yoshi is his own star! There's some genuinely distsurbing, funny and weird commercials like the older Nintendo, Super Nintendo, and N64 commercials, there's some cute Nintendo 3DS and Wii U games like Yoshi's Wooly World, Yoshi's Island, and everywhere in between. Reacting to Nintendo commercials is always weird. You never know what kind of nintendo video game commercial you're about to get into. There's Yoshi commercials for Nintendo NES, Super Nintendo SNES, Nintendo 64 N64, Nintendo Gamecube, Nintendo Wii, Nintendo Wii U, Nintendo DS, Nintendo 3DS, and Nintendo Switch!

I was just as mouth agaped at the fat guy commercial as well. That was seriously straight out of Monty Python, maybe even more graphic.

The Yoshi cookie ad he called "children of the corn" is a depiction of Japanese folk dance. A time-keeping call in those songs is "yoshi, yoshi" which basically means well done keep going . Yoshi's name is spelled Yosshi in Japanese, but that's pretty close to the word, which I believe is why this commercial has the folk dancing in it.

7:09 These videos are always so fascinating because it just goes to show how different countries were compelled to market the same video game, especially in the 90s and early 2000s. In Japan, male Japanese audiences aren't turned off by cute things, so the Yoshi games were marketed as sweet, little wholesome experiences that they were. Meanwhile, in America, they felt like they had to edgify the product they were selling to appeal to gamer-bros, so they would market the exact same game as a rebellious, bad boy experience. Complete with "when mom comes home, you guys are going to be in big trouble!" (Was that really necessary?) 😆 It's hilariously fascinating to see such wildly different advertising between cultures!

3:23 Bon Dance at an Obon Festival. Very fun, I go almost every weekend during the season. The circles do spin around a central tower, but the dances are usually pretty slow.

Peeb's reaction on that very last one was PURE GOLD. I remember seeing it for the first time over on one of Chadtronic's Cursed Commercial videos and being absolutely HORRIFIED by it.
