I Watched *HUNGER GAMES MOCKINGJAY PT 2* For The FIRST TIME And It Was... 

We finally concluding The Hunger Games Series.. Which one is your favorite? Did i still have David misunderstood? Lmao. #Bingers Don't forget to hit the like for me!

Peeta in the books (in the movies a little less): the loveliest and kindest being even after being through torture and brainwashing. Billy in all 4 movies: "No, he's bad, I don't trust him." hahahahhah

I’ll leave this quote from the book where Katniss explains why she chose Peeta over Gale. “But his arms are there to comfort me, and eventually his lips. On the night I feel that thing again, the hunger that overtook me on the beach, I know this would have happened anyway. That what I need to survive is not Gale's fire, kindled with rage and hatred. I have plenty of fire myself. What I need is the dandelion in the spring. The bright yellow that means rebirth instead of destruction. The promise that life can go on, no matter how bad our losses. That it can be good again. And only Peeta can give me that. So after, when he whispers, "You love me. Real or not real?" I tell him "Real.”

Nothing more satisfying then watching Billy root for Peeta to die since the first movie, and knowing damn well Peeta gonna make it to the end lmao

“why won’t david (peeta) just die?” -gale the entire series

This is the end of the hunger games, but a new book came out last year called The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes which is about how Snow became evil, it’s very interesting. It’s a bummer that the movies didn’t get across how truly good and warm Peeta (David😜) is. Katniss literally sees him as the sun. But that being said, this is my favorite movie adaptation of any book series. They did a very good job overall. Loved the rewatch!

She picked Peeta because in the books after he gave her the bread, she saw a dandelion growing after a long winter symbolizing growth after a hard time (her basically almost starving to death). She gave up on Gale because the war wasn't personal to him like I was to her and it cost the life of Prim which he promised to look after when she was in the games and ultimately let her down in the end.

Snow reminding Katniss of the agreement not to lie is NOT him saying “I’m telling the truth. Believe it.” It’s him saying “I know you’re lying to me right now.” She said “I don’t believe you.” Except she DOES believe him. She just doesn’t want to believe him. She’s in denial and he KNOWS it.

Fun fact! Katniss and Peeta's kids are played by Jennifer Lawrence's nephews. (Even though the baby was supposed to be a girl lol) Apparently to her, the older kid loved Josh and got along greatly.

Fun fact: The book is way more extreme than the movie, the hounds in the first hunger games and then those mutated humanlike creatures in mockingjay part 2 are actually mutation experiments done on the bodies of dead tributes that the capitol uses in order to traumatize the victors even more

Always liked the ending, showing their future together. In the books, Katniss talks about how long it took for her to find any kind of peace after all they went through; how long she put off having children due to the trauma and fear that they could be taken/ killed/ used against her somehow. It was so sad, but so beautiful that she and peeta found a way through it together in the end. She talks about how it was always peeta, he gave her hope and comfort.

Everyone in Katniss’ (Catalina’s) life hurt her in some way or form (physically, mentally, emotionally) but Gale’s involvement in making those parachute bombs made Prim die, that had to hurt the most bc she literally volunteered in the games for her. Peeta (David)was tortured in his brainwashing so his actions weren’t like Gales knowing his own actions without influence. Deep down Peeta was the opposite of her and needed to be to help her in the end. Feel bad for her the most. Sorry for rambling, your reactions for all the films was great! Can’t wait for more! #bingers Harry Potter and anything Disney 💕😁

When Prim died I threw my book 😂 Also my step dad (I have older parents btw) related to David because of his PTSD. My step dad was drafted into the Vietnam War at 18 and to this day he still has moments where he struggles with the things he had to go through. When David said he wasn't in control of himself the look on my dads face just said it all for me. This series, both movie and books, were so well done from start to finish. Generations of people can find something in this to relate to and I always thought that was neat.

I love that Peeta is actually the purest soul throughout the whole series and Billy still waiting for him to die 😭🤣

As a point of interest, during this series the character of Katniss was aged 15, 16, then 17. Peeta was the same age. Gale was one or two years older than Katniss and Peeta. Prim was 12, 13, then 14 when she died. This entire series was fought by children (with, of course, some adults who'd already fought, as children, in previous Games).

Fans really want prequel books about characters like Haymitch, Johanna, and Finick💕💕💕

I always agreed that Katniss should've ended up with Peeta. I never really liked Gale because he wasn't good for Katniss and he had some red flags. Gale made those smart but cruel traps that caused maximum death and devastation because he saw good and evil people as black and white, i.e. all capital people are evil and anyone who helps them is evil. He wanted to bury and entire mountain of people despite having the experience of his and Katniss' father being buried in a collapsed mine. He held onto and nurtured his anger and hatred to the point that people were no longer living beings and simply pawns, a means to an end. He let the capital get to him and make him into someone who wouldn't hesitate to commit heinous acts so long as he could get a leg up on the capitol. And the symbolism of their names tells me all i need to know. Gale means a strong wind and Katniss was the 'girl on fire'. It they had gotten together, he would've intensified her pain and hatred, her ptsd, until there was nothing left of her. Peeta was there when she needed him to be and he was the one to give her comfort when she would have nightmares. He was mentally strong, until the torture, and was her rock when she couldn't handle her flashbacks. Once he recovered some from his torture, he stayed true to his beliefs, not wanting the capital children to go through their own Games because he had empathy for them. Peeta is like pita, a type of bread. In the book, the burnt bread that he gave Katniss gave her energy and hope. It helped motivate her to continue to fight to live. And it gave her the determination to learn to hunt. He is sustanance, healing, and hope.

What I love about this series is it shows us war and revolution through Katniss' eyes who gives us the innocent victim perspective. By this film most of the people have chosen war, Gale is willing to kill and dehumanise his opponents to defeat them, the cause is more valuable that life for him. But from the beginning Katniss has been the person who didn't want to change the system just survive it, she never chose war or revolution she just wanted her loved ones to live but she was pulled into the violence anyway. She killed people she knew were innocent victim like her, she knew before the revolution exactly the value of every life and what it felt like to be on the other end of a spear thrown by someone who is willing to overlook your humanity for their purpose. So Katniss can never be okay with the mentality Gale has, and she cannot give up on Peeta- because she identifies with every death and every time someone abandons a victim as a lost cause. Her final act was to kill Coin because she knew what she would become- and Katniss did not expect to survive that. But once again her choice over her own life is denied and she does survive. In the books it takes her a very long time to be okay having children because I don't think she ever feels safe or like a victor- she's just another casualty of war.

My favorite part of this whole series that it isn’t a perfect, happy, clean ending. It’s messy and sad and almost anticlimactic. It makes it feel more real

I don’t know how well it was translated in the movie, but the ending in the book leaves you feeling so… empty. Like, yeah, they got their freedom, got a family now and building a new country full of hope… but at what cost? They had to sacrifice so much. In a way, it is a happy ending, but not a joyous happy ending. It’s still kinda sad. Like melancholic. It’s a rare ending, you don’t usually see those types of endings anywhere. But it was good. It really reflects how many people with PTSD, depression, anxiety, etc live like. I think it was a great and very realistic ending. I guess that’s what makes it feel so right. If everyone had lived and it was all happily ever after, it would all have seem like just another fantasy story. But this is more than that. Hunger Games is a reflection of our current world and government, just taken to the extreme. And that somber happy-ish ending, is the most realistic ending I’ve seen in any of these types of stories.

Duuuude after Harry Potter, this series is one of my favorite book adaptations. I am sooo happy you reacted to these!! And even though I'm Team David, I never minded you roasting the hell out of him for 4 movies straight 😂😂 but the ending to this series is one of favorite endings ever. I loved this movie as well. Jennifer Lawrence was wearing a wig in this movie. Because her blonde hair was damaged from having to repeatedly dye her hair for these movies. And the baby that she is holding at the end is her nephew.

Here we are at the end of the "Hunger Games" series! Definitely been looking forward to watching this commentary reaction. I think out of the 4 movies, this one was the most stressful to the first time around. Because I knew what deaths were going to happen. The scene that got me the most emotional was after Katniss returned to District 12 towards the end, and she broke down over her sister Prim's death when she sees Prim's cat. Fun Fact: The kiss between Haymitch and Effie when he was leaving the Capital with Katniss was improvised by Woody Harrelson who plays Haymitch. And Peeta(David) and Katniss(Katalina) got their happy ending after Peeta recovers from his brainwashing. Another Fun Fact: The kids who play Peeta and Katniss' children are the niece and nephew of actress Jennifer Lawrence, who plays Katniss. Definitely looking forward to Billy's reaction to Finnick and Prim's deaths. Two of the three deaths that I still can't watch. I highly recommend the 1996 movie "Twister". #Bingers

The Maze Runner series. Not because I like the series but because Barry Pepper is in it and I support my fellow left handed community. It's just an added bonus he's an incredible actor who happens to be a blacksmith so he makes the weapons his character uses. #bingers

So billy fyi, the fandom disowned Gale (Thor’s) little brother years ago, but he has my deepest empathy. He’s right about how ugly and necessary war is - “ideals are peaceful, history is violent”. Brad Pitt said that. Plus despite what happened at the end - he actually SAVED Katniss’ family when he got them out of District 12 before it was destroyed. So he’s also the reason Katniss has any family left at all.

She was explaining how each of their districts are against each other because of the capitol. They want them divided to distract them from the true enemy. I love Hunger Games reactions... and yet for some weird reason RU-vid never recommended to me that I watch your Hunger Games reactions. I hadn't seen anything from you in a while so I thought, "I wonder what Billy's been up to..." and I went to your channel to see--it turned out you'd been watching one of my favorite reaction series and I didn't know about it! I thought it was super weird that RU-vid hadn't recommended it to me. I guess it makes sense now. That's super messed up!

There are always differences or little things left out in book to movie translations, but I honestly think this is one of the best I’ve seen. There were some details in the books that were cut but I think they were a really good decision and make sense for the movie. There’s a really long drawn out part in the first book where Peeta (David) hurts his leg and it always annoyed me to read but they skimmed past it in the movie which I appreciated. Also, there’s an additional character of the mayor’s daughter who gives her the Mockingjay pin, but it made sense to cut her and just have Prim do it. This is one case where I think you can still get most of the details and impact from the movies without needing to read the books.

It’s already the end of the series, watching it again there is definitely stress watching the scenes knowing what happens, and the names are iconic now I only them by that, the smiles from you and the commentary is just iconic. Nostalgia watching it even more fun watching it with ur reactions

As many have said the book is definitely better but this is the best book to film adaptation I have seen. In the books Peeta is a lot more loveable and caring. There is also more of her PTSD after Prim’s death than what is shown in the movie. It hits her very hard especially since the whole thing starts because of her trying to protect her sister but in the end she is still killed. I love that her and Peeta end up together, in the books the love triangle is not as strong - (at least from what I can remember) Katniss never really thought of Gale in any type of way but just kinda assumed they might get married more out of convenience not love, while Gale hardcore loved her. Personally I didn’t think they meshed well because of how much she was affected by the games - he almost brushed it off in a sense.

I think this movie was the first (and only) midnight movie premiere I went to, the deaths in this one were hard 😩 #bingers Train to Busan

I Love this series because the consequences are real. Gale used to care about people but hate overwhelmed him and he became just like the Capitol (but in reverse). The bomb he created killed Prim and that ruined any relationship him and Katniss could ever have. The movie doesnt show it enough but Peeta was so good and kind. Even after getting tortured he still stuck to his morals and didnt want another Hunger Games. His worst nightmare was that the Capitol would change him and although he is still good, he will never truly be the same guy again. He will always have to question what is real or not. Prim was sadly always meant to die. Her getting picked in the 1st movie and Katniss volunteering is the entire catalyst for this uprising and eventual rebellion. But in the end, only delayed her eventual death. But her death (amongst so many others) meant freedom for those who remaines. Just tragic but beautiful.

Yeppp, drink tea without sugar- it’s a thing that caught on from my dad, we’re russian and I tell you we drink more tea than the brits. It’s usually because there’s some sort of pastry or savory food with the tea though. Never alone. But what’s weird is if you’re having like a Russian sandwich with tea instead of a pastry, it’s more known that the tea should be sweet in that instance (for example bread butter and caviar, immediate sugar in tea, it’s weird I know but I promise it WORKS)

In the book after talking to snow for the last time Katniss begins to question why her 14 year old in training sister was chosen to come as medical aid and that's when she realizes Coin was behind it.

Of any book in the series, I think they fucked up Mockingjay the most. I remember fuming leaving the theater of part 2 because of stuff they got wrong. Like how are they gonna set snow's execution at the tribute center when the book literally says "this was not the stage in front of the tribute center." Not to mention they kind of butchered katniss and her mental state. At least the first movie kept the right tone when making changes. Mockingjay just didn't feel like Mockingjay

look I'mma let you know when I read Mockingjay for the first time, I was feverish and on cold medicine (I specifically had gotten the trilogy to keep myself occupied in my waking hours since I had to take time off for being so sick that week) and when Katniss was married to her Dandelion...I just swooned lol

the creatures in the sewer are muttations created by the capitol, called "mutts" for short. The big ugly dogs at the end of the first movie are also mutts. The creepiest thing about the wolf mutts in the books is that each one resembles a fallen tribute, almost like they've come back to life and then been made into a monster. And I just read that the lizard mutts in this movie are apparently made using human DNA? yuck.
