The original Munsters is timeless. If someone edited multiple moments from several episodes into a movie and showed it in a theater to a modern audience, they would love it.

Word of advice to anyone that has yet to see this movie: convert the film to black & white if possible. Trust me, it makes the stylistic choices pop and land much better. The writing, pacing and acting are still inconsistent, but the directing feels a lot more inspired instead of distracting.

I enjoyed it I don't get all the hate yes it's low budget and campy but that's the point he made it to be like the show and to me the humor and all the Easter eggs and call backs and everything felt like The Munsters to me.

The costume & sets in 1000 Corpses, Devils Rejects, Halloween & 31 are fantastic, he is great for aesthetics, doesn't seem to be the case with Munsters.

Every year, during October, two comedies that I always watch are Little Shop of Horrors and Serial Mom. I also frequently watch either Beetlejuice or Mars Attacks, but I usually limit myself to one or the other of these Tim Burton films.

Thank you for mentioning that this movie lacks charm. I used to watch the original in late nite re-runs too...it was cozy and creepy and fun. I loved that they didn't act like they were weird, right? They were just a family being themselves.

Knew this would be bad. Watch episodes occasionally with my father. I thought the Mockingbird Lane reboot was something that could have been pretty interesting, if it had been green-lit beyond its pilot. It actually was updated with a modern perspective on the Munsters story, and I liked it.

The funny thing is NBC a few years ago remade the show and it was called mockingbird lane and I love it. But unfortunately they never made more episodes pass the pilot smh. It was so much better like a updating version of the original

It's a difficult puzzle to make a successful update to a lovable 60s sitcom like The Munsters. The times and attitudes were so different then. Television was still fairly new. The humor was innocent, fresh, goofy, weird, and contagious. Plus, the studio making The Munsters hired great comedic character actors to play as foils to Herman Munster. Stars like Paul Lynde, Harvey Korman, and John Fiedler. I suspect today's audiences are perhaps too jaded to appreciate anything like this, even if the producers had followed the formula exactly.

I think there was a failed TV pilot for a Munsters reboot years ago. It ended up playing on TV as a TV movie. It had Jerry O'Connell as herman

7:53 Eddie Munster was the little wolf boy son, and Marilyn Munster, was Lillie's gorgeous niece, who the family took in out of pity because she was born "ugly". Rob Zombie left a lot of great jokes on the table by exluding them from the film.

Yeah I'm pretty sure Universal sold this off to Netflix after that trailer dropped with a resounding thud. I highly doubt Rob Zombie would have agreed to do a $40 million dollar movie that he's been trying to get off the ground for years if he knew it was going to be sent off to streaming without a theatrical release. RZ defenders keep saying the movie was always intended for streaming but the evidence says otherwise. Maybe I'll catch this for bad movie night.

the whole movie was a love-letter to the tv show. The jokes, the structure, everything. The humor is meant to be old-fashioned & innocent, and the 3-part structure feels like 3 different episodes of the show. The people who don't get this movie seem to be the younger people who didn't watch this show too much

I love the show, I watched every episode. This is still a bad movie, this is basically rob zombie and his wife inserting themselves into the Munsters. They get tattoos, he sings in a rockband... If you're a fan of rob zombie you can see that's what he did. Lilly isn't even wholesome in this movie like she was in the show, yes herman was stupid, and tone deaf, but the new guy portrays him like he has mental disability. It's just not a good movie, and an insult to the original show

It's the same visual beats, rob zombie a rock singer, with weird horror tattoos. Herman Munster in this is a Goofy rock singer, who gets a tombstone Lilly tattoo. Hell even look at the album herman has in his dressing room, it looks like rob zombie's last cd cover lol as a rob zombie fan, this is a joke of a movie.

I think people are missing the tone it's supposed to be cheesy and campy and that sometimes comes across awkward or bad to people. I wholeheartedly agree with the notion that this should've been made in the style of the modern Addams Family movies. But then again I don't know if even that would save this movie. It's just bad. Personally the only Rob Zombie movie I actually like was his first Halloween remake, but that being said this is a new low even for Rob Zombie. Dude needs a new job because this one ain't working.

I was SO bored after 10 minutes. It had one good laugh from me and it was in the scene where herman meets the Count for the first time and he keeps yelling. That was kind of funny. I found myself picking my phone up, checking twitter and checking the time. 40 minutes in I was like, the hell why isn't this over already!

Eddie was a Werewolf but I loved the Munsters and was excited when I heard they were doing a movie but when the preview came out I felt like they were making fun of The Munster’s but I’m hoping someone else will do a movie of them and make it more like The Addams Family movies instead of doing it like they did cause this could have been an awesome movie so I’m really disappointed
