Temple of Doom is my personal favorite. I can’t help but find it to be the most rewatchable 🫀

Last Crusade for me, saw it in the theaters back in the 90's and the action in that movie was amazing

I have the same thoughts, it's a 3/5 for me. Kind of scared to see where they go from that ending.

Why do I feel like John’s opinion on this is going to change very quickly over the next two days probably, and no this is not better than crystal skull, I dare people to actually watch that movie again rather than just listen to everyone saying it’s complete crap and then actually see which ones better, and it’s not dial destiny I can guarantee it. An no I’m not saying crystal skull is a phenomenal film, but it is better than this, felt more like Indians jones than this one. Also there was 3 action scenes in this movie lol, and they were all in the first hour.

My initial reaction to the film was “well they didn’t totally f it up.” It wasn’t a Rise of Skywallker lol.

The discussion should be focused on which of the 2 latest Indy films is the better? The original trilogy is on a completely different level to the last 2 films. To me Crystal Skull might be better as it has that Spielberg aura and vibe which this film is missing.

It's amazing how good our brains are at proccessing faces so well that even almost perfect de-aging looks off.

I haven’t seen the film so nobody spoil anything for me. But from what I’m hearing it seems like instead of introducing the new character which is supposed to be Indy’s god daughter, they should have brought back short round as his companion for the film. Just a thought

I saw this Film Two Days ago and the thing I love about this film is that Helena Sounds and Acts so much like the Doctor in BBC Doctor who. Her Acting in this film is the closest to getting another Female Doctor unless RTD does cast Another Female for the role Someday?

I enjoy Kingdom of the Crystal Skull minus the tree swinging part. It is better than Temple of Doom.

I usually agree with a lot of your reviews but for this one i think maybe over time something for your thoughts could change and maybe youll like it even more. I dont know if this comment will ever be read but i wanted to share. I'm 28, I love indiana jones. Have lots of merchandise for it in my home. Saw and loved dial of destiny with a friend of mine. It was a great film and i enjoyed it immensely. It saddens me to see this new movie not get the success it deserves and see videos with critiques of people who clearly haven't seen the movie yet. I saw a tweet and a video where a guy Said how he hated that Helena Shaw killed indy in the film. Yea, no that didn't happen. I think lots of idiots just hate Disney because of Kathleen Kennedy or some how they treated star wars. Fair enough, I'm not a fan of Disney at all but I don't feel like they interfered with Dial of Destiny. Their live action remakes are scum aside from a few ideas in theory (bill murray as baloo for example, in theory was good casting-movie still sucked). And star wars I do believe they absolutely screwed up. That being said I liked force awakens until it's last act. And I liked last jedi until about the half way point. So Disney does deserve a lot of its criticism. But Helena Shaw is a way better character than Rey for example. I do think it was unwise to spend a marvel budget on the film, but on the other side of the coin I'm sure some would criticize Disney for not caring enough if they found a way to make it on a 30 million budget or something. Anyway, I loved dial of destiny, I think it leaves the character in a much better place than last crusade or skull. At the end of dial he's rekindled his marriage, taken his hat off the rack to me saying he's never giving up on his life being an adventure. And he's got his friends nearby and he has the artifact of his dream as he said he'd been after it all his life. At end of skull he's married, good enough but that's it. Last crusade he rides off which sure Is a good ending but it leaves the character wide open as to what happens to him because the war and a lot of his enemies so to speak are still in large aspects, around. End of dial he's won the Day. He's free to be with Marion, who he did not have at end of last crusade, and he feels like a completed story with yes maybe some adventures in him yet but it feels like a great ending. Yes, Shaw isn't the greatest character but she's clearly a top student in indy's class and given who her father is and how much she read and learned it's not too hard to believe how knowledgeable she is. Her and indy have a chemistry even though it's also tension and friction. And by the end of the film she changes and evolved as a result of indy. She has a complete story arc. I'm grateful this film was made, and I enjoyed it immensely. Your videos are funny and I enjoy your thoughts, I just felt to share that for me yea this film wasn't perfect, but I did really enjoy it and i hope eventually you find some more enjoyment in it too. Really enjoy your videos, have for years, just felt to share some thoughts with you 😊

Indian Jones is one one of my favorite movies franchises and I actually really liked this movie. Not a fan of Helena at all but I’m still happy that we got another Indy movie. I was really afraid how this movie is going to turn out since it’s made in 2023 and by disney but it turned out so much better than i expected.

The last Crusade was the perfect ending everything else i´ll consider it high budgeted fan fiction 😅

I usually agree with you, John. I don't usually comment but I've been watching you for like a decade. But I don't think Crystal Skull is that bad. I did enjoy the cast, there was interesting action, and it really did feel like Indy to me. Unpopular opinion, I know. But I think people were disappointed because it was a step down. It's certainly not great. But I don't think it's "take a crap in a hat" bad by any means

I think Raiders is my favourite one. Since I never jumped on the hate train for Crystal Skull, I've a feeling DoD will be my least favourite one, but we'll see ...

I don’t think it’s better than Crystal Skull. That one isn’t good, but at least that one had some sort of Spielberg charm. This was devoid of all of that and lacked excitement and fun. It was a movie on autopilot.

The last 30 min were so unbelievable bad, it was even worst as Crystal Skull. I felt so sorry fir Harrison Ford/Indy the whole Time. Lucasfilm has destroyed another male Hero from our Childhood, but it remains to be the best Trilogy in Movie-History.

Just saw this film with my father who showed me the originals as a kid. While I didn’t like it as I did Raiders and Last Crusade. I didn’t hate it. It was rather meh. Lol

The first is my favorite. The second as the iconic and perfect bridge action. The third has the master tank vs horse action, better than in Rambo3😂

I liked kingdom of the Crystal skull of course I'm into conspiracy theories and elongated heads and aliens so it was at my alley maybe it wasn't the best idea for an indie movie but at least in that movie it was all practical and indy was reunited with an old flame. I just don't really want to see old broken down Indy like every childhood hero that Disney gets their hands on but maybe eventually I'll watch this...

I watched about half of it last night and walked out of the theater.. didn’t hate it, just didn’t feel like sitting all the way through.. it has cool moments, but just felt like an ok movie.. the goddaughter character is annoying.. first 20 min are cool.. Madds Mikelson was a solid villain, but how the hell did he survive what happened in the first act ? lol I’ll finish it on streaming 😷

This was better then the new scream movie and better then Beau is Afriad & the new spiderman to much arguing with parents 1/3 of the film. I thought the villain Mads Mikkelsen stole the show and reminded of how Whicked he was in "Casino Royal" two thumbs for The Dial of destiny! 😊

Thought the movie was bland and nonsensical. I was pretty bored and felt like nothing outside of the opening scene was worth it

Raiders is the best period

SPOILER ALERT - don't read on if you haven't seen the flick. For me, what the Dial of Destiny did to the happy ending of Crystal Skull is just as bad as what Fincher did in Aliens 3 when he decided to kill off Newt and Hicks right at the start. It spoils the good feeling you get from the climax of the previous movie!

Honestly of all the 'supernatural bends' in this series, this one was my favorite. I get the nostalgia of the original movies but this was easier to stomach for me than the 'melting faces' element of the first and way better done than the alien nonsense in the 4th. Also it makes sense the screenwriters would go this route after seeing what Marvel and DC have done with their recent films.

When the black female CIA agent came on screen I thought "oh no this is a fun charismatic character that respects Indy she's probably going to die so we have more time for fleabag Karen"

I thought the movie was fantastic! I had no complaints. Very entertaining and Harrison Ford was great as one pst ride!

Overall quality aside, the one thing I don't understand is how people who hated the concept of aliens being in Indy 4, don't have a problem with TIME TRAVEL in this. 🤔

This film could have been made whole with 3 masterstrokes: 1) In the opening titles have a 1960s style credits, thus excusing the 1960s cold war drama pacing of the film, drawing on "Helena's theme". 2) Trim the middle of the film thus reducing aforementioned pacing issues. 3) Before incapacitating Indy in the 3rd act, give him a final combat scene as strong and viscerally satisfying as the subway scene (which this RU-vidr skips in his list of declining quality action scenes). Re Helena's timeline. Indy hasn't seen "Wombat" for 18 years when she was 12. It's implied she's about 30 so a mature student, ex thief. This is semi-confirmed again When Indy says he's twice her age (actually more).

I actually enjoyed the movie. Yeah I want Kennedy gone too, but I'm not going to hate on something just because she produced it. That is what a LOT of the hate is about. How's this for you people, I actually think this one will age MUCH better than Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. People are just so caught up in Disney and Kennedy hatred right now, they can't see the true good and bad. They WANT to hate this film. Me I'm giving it 4 out of 5 and Harrison has never been better. When I love a character I want to see him young and old. Don't bother issuing the usual "woke" insults whatever, I won't be checking back.

Apart from the first 15 minutes this movie broke my soul!!!! My wife really enjoyed it, but I left the movie soulless from watching this movie. And how in gods name did this movie cost 300 million dollars!!!! Easily the worst one, crystal skull is not a good a movie but it’s 100 x better than this and it’s a guilty pleasure of mine I have to be honest!!!!! This movie, with exception to the opening 15-20 minutes this movie sucks and I won’t be seeing it again!!

Are you kidding??? It ain't better than Kingdom of the Crystal Skull by any stretch of the widest imagination. The length of the film and truly the worst character on film since Rey Palpatine in Phoebe Poop Bridge sinks this crap film utterly. Skull you can re-watch for the most part and skip a few scenes - Dial of Dumpster you just can't re-watch this past the 20min mark because of Poop Bridge.
