I went on a £9.50 SUN Holiday... (UK's WORST RATED) 

Just to clarify, I did not purchase the sun paper, I found the codes online and do not support that newspaper in anyway 👍🏼

If you mixed a prison, a school and an old people’s home together, this is exactly what you’d get.

Unfortunately the reality is, this is where some people can only afford to go, I remember these style of holidays as a kid.

Actually a bit sad, there's probably poor families who have legitimately gone to this place for a holiday because its the best they can do for their kids. Imagine being that parent knowing your walking into a run down place but trying to make it seem great for your kids

This place looks depressing and we've stayed in some horrible places!

The bingo prize was a stay in a Britannia hotel 😂 the worst hotel chain in the UK. They really love making people suffer don’t they.

I went on tons of these £9.50 Sun holidays as a kid, every year to the same place - Butlins which later turned into Haven in Ayrshire in Scotland. It would always be the same weekend, first Thursday-Monday of July. I have some of my fondest memories as a kid there, with my grandparents at the arcades, go-karting and playing mini golf. The accommodation was shockingly similar to this, clearly nothing has changed in 15 years. But when you're 9 years old you don't notice that, you love the crap entertainment they put on and all the lights of the arcades. I'm really glad in retrospect I went every year from I was maybe 6 right until I was about 14 and got too old for it. That time spent with my grandparents was magical, and it was all captured on a camcorder my by granddad which was later converted to VHS. My grandparents have now all passed on, and I pop the videos on every now and again to relive a time in my life I was probably the happiest. I don't really have a point to make here, just that when you're a child and your parents can't afford to go abroad, you look forward to holidays like this every year more than Christmas. And not to sound like a complete boomer aged 26, but maybe that feeling is missing now as places like this become a thing of the past

I actually worked there in 2019, I left just before the ceiling accident, safe to say it was absolutely horrible I worked in the fish and chip shop and do many other cooking jobs around the site, everything was unhygienic and out of place, I lived on site due to living 2 hours away and even then it was just not okay, luckily as staff I could take cleaning equipment and clean my self which gave me piece of mind

I think the problem is is that the place is literally the same as it was when it opened. There is a reason I feel for why Pontins is struggling. It's because they're simply not moving with the times and they're also not trying anymore. The stuff just looks so dated now. Stayed at this resort a few years ago and can confirm, it's really not pretty. Great video btw and loved watching you guys play bingo 😂

I remember staying at somewhere similar to this when I was a kid and there was....dog poop.... on the carpet in our chalet so they upgraded us to a caravan 🤭

Remember guys, this is what some of the UK population have to do in order to get away from day to day life. Eye opener for many people, but this is a reality & some people’s yearly holiday.

As someone that grew up in a seaside area in the 80's it is good to see Britain is still the world leader when it comes to crap seaside holidays!

You joke about the electric being included, but I remember the days of topping up the meter at Butlins in the 80s.

If I won the euromillions I’d love to buy this place and do it up so that children who’s parents can only afford to go here at least have somewhere clean and safe to stay.

Looks like a ghost town it is such a shame, I bet people had a great time there (many years ago) Reminds me of Hemsby in Norfolk

I fought on the front lines in Afghanistan and the accommodation was better than Pontins. 😉

Like any holiday it doesn’t really matter where you go. It’s the people you go with that make it a fun holiday! 👍

I used this scheme to go on holiday a few years back, ended up being £33 but it was actually a really nice resort in the south of France, a bargain in the end !

You know what? I’m actually glad that Pontins would discriminate against me for my Irish name after seeing the state of the place!!

Okay but we grew up reaaly poor and this was the only way we could go on holiday. now, we would go to haven not Pontins. but it was the best part of the year. it's fun when you make it fun!!

I used to work for a well known British holiday company in the call centre hated sun holiday times coz they didn't tell the poor people that it isn't actually 9.50 and you have to buy,the bedding and the entertainment prices and the 9.50 is a guide price

I went to Butlins in Minehead once. Opened the door to the chalet and there were 2 inch mushrooms growing out of the carpet. Asked to be changed to another chalet, which they did. Only to find the previous guest had left their sex toys on top of the wardrobe. They were massive too.

I love how empty it is. If it were full it would be hell on earth.

Used to go on these holidays all the time as a kid and have some really fond memories, you don't notice the disrepair when you're young, the shiny arcade lights and flashy shows were enough to keep me & my siblings entertained haha. I do remember more of the attractions, golf, go karting etc, being open. so it's pretty sad to see the state a lot of these holiday parks are in these days but i'll always have the memories.

I used to holiday here all the time growing up, we had little money so this was an obvious choice for my family. Frankly, I've only got good memories from that place.

I went to Pontins every year as a kid (Camber Sands) and I remember it being epic. Looking back I do now realise it wasn’t that great but as a kid I did love it

I used to be a bluecoat, when I was 20 (I'm turning 40 in 4 weeks), down in Wall Park, Brixham, Devon. This is absolutely cringe worthy to see how grim they have turned out. I can hand on heart say that it wasn't like this sh*t show 20 years ago 🎉

I used to be a doorman at a bar close to this pontins and the riff raff that used to be there on sun holidays was shocking. Spend pennies on the family holiday but hundreds on booze. Mum n dad in the bar from 8am till 2am 5nights a week while the kids look after themselves type of people

When I was a kid back in the late 60s early 70s. These places were good then. Not run down and lots of fun.

I used to go to Brean Sands and Prestatyn every year I loved it as a kid and well worth the money in my opinion 🤣

I remember going to Butlins Barry Island as a kid which was amazing, a real shame how these places have become so unpopular and left to fall into disrepair.

The only good thing about the Camber Sands Pontins is the beach over the road, but working there back in the day was an absolute blast.

Just back from brean pontins the shed you had was luxury to the one I was in it was the dirtiest place I have ever stayed in .we had to disinfect every thing the smell was stuffy and damp plus a health hazard. That's all I can say at the moment. Still in shock.

Used to be a contractor for pontins, went for a week every 3 months to clean out the ventilation systems used to stay on site seen some hilarious things there would deffo go again for a laugh 😆

Classic pontius. The reaction when you walked into the apartment. I stayed at pontins in camber sands. The area was lovely. The holiday park was a shithole. The best part of the holiday park was when we left.

You know this is a good as it will get for some families who arent able to afford much else so please try and be respectful. :)
