Come join me as I sell one of my Chanel bags to a second hand consignment store, I ended-up swapping the bag for items they had :)

As someone who works in the luxury industry, vintage bags are better made and are a great deal. Everyone wants the bags that Karl did.

I agree, the quality of vintage is far superior to what is being put out today. Plus you benefit by not carrying the same bag as everyone else.

@@katemiller7874 I feel you but for the bags that are produced for years and years there is a difference in quality. I can tell by the bags that were sent in for repairs were rarely from the 1980s and earlier, it was mainly bags made in the late 90s and 2000s. Also people decide to invest in one designer bag and use it as an everyday bag but purchase the cheapest material like canvas, coated canvas and wonder why its damaged?

@@katemiller7874 Regardless, the quality of new bags is inferior to the older ones. Chanel and Gucci have been famously reducing their quality every year

The fabric bag was stunning! 😍I was even considering that if you didn't buy that one, I would have called them to purchase it. 🤣You have great taste! The quality of vintage bags seems to really hold up more than modern bags.

I own a vintage jersey Chanel bag in black matelas stitching and silver hardware. The quality is incredible. I don't know how old it is but there no wear visible at all and I use it often, even to carry a tablet. It's also heavy by itself with a chunky chain, like Sophie said. I love that bag.

Vintage Chanel is the best Chanel. By Karl. ❤️ New is so uninspired. Plus the quality is so much better with older bags. They had such a great selection!!

I adore how black the fabric bag is - it makes the logo really stand out and I'm really pleasantly surprised at the prices. The staff seem really nice too - not pushy at all x

This was so lovely... I am always glad when you manage to let us take a peek into a Chanel store but I feel nervous and unconfortable the whole time because I'm scared they're going to see you and be rude to you. But second-hand small boutiques are just so nice to experience. I was just hoping you'd get the fabric one in the end, I love the chunky CC on the front and the chain, it's truly beautiful, and I'm actually impressed with you use of the microbag as belt, I honestly can't wait to see you style it for an everyday look. Thank you for this video, you made me dream today.

The way you styled that tiny Chanel made it adorable to cool on the belt. The whole time you were in the store I was rooting for that fabric one to be your choice. That is a killer 90’s bag that looks amazing today. Nice choices.

That tiny bag 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾. It was so expensive but now that you own that beauty ~ I feel like you could keep the bag and chain intact and attach it to a chain belt and let the Chanel strap hang in the fashion that older belts did. I honestly can’t wait to see what you come up with. I just know it will be great. You have done excellent jewelry and purse handles and such. Can you tell I’m excited 😂

Luxury Promise has INSANE premiums on their bags. They’re certainly covering all bases w RU-vidrs. Sophie, get a free bag. Claire, Je Suis Lou, In The Frow, etc all have.

The Jersey jumbo is gorgeous ! One of my favorite bags ever ! The chains are just perfect and shiny, the single flap allows us to put more stuff in the bag and the CC logo is to die for! Congrats Sophie 🔥😍

I'm all for the vintage bags, got a camera bag that I'm going to sell because I don't use it. Also got a Chanel maxi from 91-94 that are in such good condition and I use it all the time love it. The big black you choose is gorgeous, I was sitting her saying: take that not the other one lol and the small one was so nice with that little extra bling on it. Sending congratulations from Sweden

@@SophieShohetOfficial you know over the years I've bought what I could afford and it was just recently I found out that the camera bags are several different styles are classed like collectors pieces. I'm loving my vintage Chanels but aren't using my camera bag I bought it for about £150 and now they are about £1500-1800 . Do you know anything about Chanel repair service, I need to go and find out but haven't been yet. Love from Sweden

OMG I saw a vintage pink caviar chanel classic flap bag on the rack and quickly went to Luxury Promise website and bought that exact one!! I was really looking for that light sakura pink pastel colour for quite sometimes and a lot of other stores are selling that vintage for 8K USD!! Got it for 5K USD on Luxury Promise

Loved what you got!!! I feel like you can be more carefree with those 2 bags rather than sticking with the mauve that you will always have anxiety over where to place it, what to wear with it and other factors like that. And a vintage chanel jersey bag is always gorgeous. I have a small reissue in jersey from the 80s that i love and i have owned it for 8 years now. The coloring is still so rich and gorgeous. Congrats on your new bag!

@@em84c nope. I haven't had a problem with mine. I don't baby my bags but im not too carefree with them either. And since it's a darker color, i just wipe it with a baby wipe and its ok

Definitly the fabric, cuz patent marks teribbly!! I had a smaller version of the fabric, and had a boucle one which i thought was black, so i gave the jersey one to charity (it hurt like mad, but wanted to do a good deed) thinking the boucle tweed 2.55 one was another black bag, but it was only when i lent it to a friend, did i realise it was actually a very dark navy (she showed me it was a very dark navy)!!! Shock horror!! The jersey fabric 2.55 was so so beautiful!! So now i think i will go and visit the shop and hopefully find a pre-loved one!

Also it’s I believe from the spring summer 2004 collection. Mine did not wear well better luck with yours. Jersey wears always quickly at the corners. Interesting to see the shop I have at least 6 of the bags there. Great video as always xx

Sophie...you're a terrible influence on me. I had the Chanel XL in vertical stripes and sold it because I'm silly. Then I had it in classic quilted and sold it because I didn't like it as much as the vertical stripes. Then I saw you in that shop looking at XLs and suddenly I had to have one again...this time in patent. Because it looked so shiny and nice and suddenly it was a desparate need!!! So now I have one on its way. Just remind me not to sell this one...because it's an expensive mistake to make. Each time I buy one it's twice as much as the one I sold.

You just need a little carabiner so you can hook the chain to your pants belt loop! Obviously not the ones we use for rock climbing 😂 but I’m sure there’s a similar clip that doesn’t look weird!
