I have to say that I was expecting the experience to be relatively normal when I went to Kichi kichi. However, Chef Motokichi is just like he is in the videos. He's high energy fun and positive. He literally gives everyone in the shop a personal show. Literally. When you visit his restaurant, you'll understand. :D It was great food and fun. I can't wait to go back.

You can say we're nerding out about food or cooking too much if you really want, but a pro move like that is pretty much the opposite of the definition of "scrub" to me, which generally means "unskilled" or "low class."

Not saying that it couldn't be self-promotion, but its unlikely due to the fact that they already have a 1-2 month waiting period for reservations iirc. Plus he already has instructional videos on his youtube channel (motokchi), where hes been posting cooking videos for 10+ years. He's done "private lessons" with random people before too. Dude is just genuinely nice imo

Chef seems like such a great teacher! He's paralleling it next to Andrew while Andrew does it for real, and it's such a smart and insightful (and helpful) way of teaching someone how to do something without doing it for them! He doesn't take control until Andrew asks for assistance, but instead parallels the movements besides Andrew as a guided visual. Ugh, I'm in love with this person!
