I think the visa process is much longer if they were not married in the US, not living in US, and apply for a spousal visa/work visa/family visa while living in their own country. I have a friend who married an Indian guy in the US and he got a 2 year greencard pretty fast, he was already working in the US as well so it depends.

Annual income over $160,000 isn't taxed with FICA - that limit could be removed while limiting the maximum benefit - that will lead to lawsuits.
