seems to be nice. ive trained for 8 years shotokan and switched over to classic taekwondo... there is a "classic" workout witht kata or hyong (basicly the same) do the first kata one time, the second kate 2 times, the third kata 3 times. and when u done the last kata, say u run 7 katas, on the the end on the 7th u run all katas in one form without a break full speed, again as hard as u can and third as fast and hard as u can. this will burn a lot of kalories and train the whole body. when u have enough time, do this every day. u are welcome :)

My karate sensei wasn't really nice. He called me stupid and other crap because of my lack of confidence and dumb mistakes. I thought it was just displinary thing they do but it started to get really bad. My motivation really became low and can't do anything right. I quit the dojo because of this. Is this a right decision?

Of course. It has to feel right, be supportive and you actually want to train. That’s just abuse

Yes, that sounds like a bad training environment, a good Karate instructor will encourage and inspire you, not make you feel bad. Keep in mind that many martial arts instructors do not have much background in education. I used to be a teacher and had to go to university to study education, there is so much to teaching. Take some time to find the right instructor. Best of luck, keep looking.

interesting difference between JKA and SKA/Mumon style shotokan. JKA, step then punch, Mumon, Step and punch simultaneously
@PhinTheShoto

SKIF also does the step and punch simultaneously too.

@PhinTheShoto
@PhinTheShoto Год назад
@@jubjubbird56 it's a Shotokan based organisation by Hirokazu Kanazawa, branched off from the JKA, our founder is one of Gichin Funakoshi's last students. SKIF is "Shotokan Karate International Federation". As the name implies, it's recognised worldwide and has several branches.

I used to take shotokan as a child so I have a background in that style. I guess what I find odd is during a fight whether in the streets or in the ring, most of this training goes out the window. Now MMA fighters stick to their training but martial artists seem to always resort back to street style fighting. No definitive blocks like the ones demonstrated in this video. Same for punches. Why is that?

Modern day karate isn’t meant to be used in exact way it’s shown the stance have a different meaning to it everyone say karate is useless and stuff I just ask them can you fight with experienced black belt most of them change the topic once the guy started fighting I almost killed him . We shouldn’t use karate to kill , attack
@KarateDojowaKu
@KarateDojowaKu Год назад
I think basic karate techniques teach you the principles of how to move your body. It's the foundation to all your "street fight" movements.

In karate…. A block is not truly a block. A demonstrated block is actually a strike, usually to a nerve or pressure point. Karate is not fighting…..Karate is self defense, don’t learn karate to learn to fight. Karateka are not usually fighters, they prefer to end a confrontation in one or two strikes

Hello Karate Dojo waku!!! I want to start learning Karate at home, since I don't have transportation, and can't get to a school, however, I don't know how to start karate practice. Any ideas?
@avakinzerochill
@avakinzerochill 6 месяцев назад
Wait until you can get to a school. Learning online can help if you already have a base in martial arts. It is a good training aid. However, if you are brand new to martial arts with no formal training, you will only teach yourself mistakes and bad habits that you will have to unlearn if you ever begin training at a school.

Hello Senpai Nagano, I'm a Brazilian karateka and here we have a lot of questions about how to start and end a training session (Shomen ni, Sensei Ni, Mokuso etc). Would you be able to record a video about it? Thank you very much. どうもありがとうございます Oss.

@@KarateDojowaKu Thank you for your consideration. However, in reality, the doubt would be about the ceremonial of beginning and end of training. Here in Brazil, in most of the Dojos/academy, students and Sensei stand in seiza facing the place where Funakoshi Sensei's photo is and after Mokuso they greet Shomen in silence, right after Sensei turns around and the students greet him saying Oss , after Senpai they greet Otogai ni and everyone greets each other. Is it like that in the Dojos of Japan?

Hey I have a question does traditional karate has uppercut and hook punches or just straight punches like jab and cross?
@migliorboccalonedelsigmang1443
Yes it has uppercut (ura zuki) and the hook (kagi zuki)
