I had to have a lung biopsy done this past June. When I was wheeled into the OR, the nurse asked me what I liked for music. I told her good ole Rock n Roll! Then I said I'd love to hear some Tom Petty. She said "You got it!" Next thing I knew this song was playing, my hands and feet start tapping and I just broke into singing. I could hear the nurse say "Listen to her belt that out!" I kept singing away, they put the mask over my face and I was still singing! I don't remember finishing the song. I do know it gave me peace though and I thank you for that Tom! Thank you for all of the wonderful music and memories you gave us. RIP. You were loved by so many, myself included.
Oh my Gosh!! You couldn't be more correct! Stand at a UF game and hear 90k fans belt this out!! It's an experience that should be the 8th wonder of the world. So..if you've not been there you have zero comment? Sorry if you have missed it.
OK lung biopsy done. I hope whatever your outcome good or needing more help was positive. And even in 2022 we are still trying our best to not back down. So the roof right now in America is coming off and not positively..So I am hoping that we come out of this OK and that you are doing much much better. Thanks.
I'm in my 60s and only a year ago, started diving into TP and the Heartbreakers catalog. I will not lament all the years I missed of being a fan. I'll just be grateful for the legacy of joy he left behind. Well done, Mr. Petty.❤
Your millions of fans will miss you, Tom Petty. I am in tears, after meeting you in 1990. You were such a nice sincere man, and a rock Legend. Fly High Tom.
I'm 66 now. Every time when I hit hard times, I would listen and sing this ultimate song... Some of my exs who tried to control me didn't like it very much.health scares. Bad bosses. Obstacles in life. Believing I was right... But I pulled thro everything. Thankyou Tom. ❤️👌
Grew up with my dad always listening to bands like Tom Petty, The Stones,Bruce Springsteen. Tom Petty always stuck with me more than most. Now almost 40 yrs later I'm still listening and loving.
eddie bhoy , well Eddie bhoy , I am just like your dad , I have two bhoys who are probably similar age to you I’m guessing and they could have just written the same as you have , cos they are like you and I am a bhoy just like your dad , I had them listening to the same artists you mentioned, same as you , and Tom Petty, I miss like hell , a true legend and genius, thanks for posting ☘️☘️
Charles Doherty Unfortunately (musically anyway) i have two girls , so the chances of passing these greats onto them are very slim. There's still time but it doesn't look good
TP was authentic. He was devoted to his fans. He had a tough life and struggled a lot. His beauty, kindness and soulfulness came through in his music. He was a prolific songwriter. So missed.
Tom Petty.....there are literally no words to describe him. I guess his music does that for he and I (Everyone). Getting and continuing to gain the RESPECT THAT HE DESERVES! HE WAS WAY TO HUMBLE TO ACCEPT HIS OWN GREATNESS!! US GATORS LOVE THIS MAN.
This is mind and oldest grandson Tommy❤️l sure miss him😢 he is still here it is a family thing it has been 2 years since our fallen out it is all over the person he is with she has put a broken us apart this precious my heart because I can’t see my great grandchildren either😢😢😢 but I won’t back down from her😡
Damir Žeravica yeah, and TP could have employed any number of fine drummers to play with him and he chose this gentleman-because it's "very simple" to play TP&tH's extensive catalog. Smh. Oh, and the "drummer guy" Steve Ferrone learned to keep time by training as a tap dancer, not a musician.
This is my favorite live concert. I listen these Songs nearly every day since years. Thank you Tom, thank you Heartbreakers for giving me so much. All the best from Bavaria.
Ephesians 6:13 KJV [13] Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
Wat een geweldenaar. Tom Petty, één van de beste artiesten ooit die deze wereld heeft voortgebracht. Begeleid door een fantastische drummer Steve Farrone
