Amazing! Thank you Dr. Max, teary eyed and burst of emotion during the visualization. Remember my mother who recently passed away. Missing her so much. Thank you for the opportunity to thank her and tell her how much I love her and how grateful I am to my lovely, bloving and kind mother. As I write my comment tears continue to fall. What a relief.

Dear Max, big tears with the visualization. I remember when I had one of your classes I had tears too when we did this visualization. But now it was so much needed. "gratitude and anger can not be in the same place at the same time" thanks you.

I absolutely love Storm's great awareness and quietness of his teachings and would like to use them for my clients, they are absolutly great. But I have been studying and practicing functional breathing with the Buteyko Method (and I also do WimHofBreathing) and wonder about the Mouth-Breathing in this sequence??!!! Aware about different Yogi breathing but even they rarely use it for both in and out! I would love to learn the reason behind this for my studies on Breath! Thank you!

If I were to feel gratitude without processing my trauma/grief/anger would that be bypassing those feelings and not processing them? OR can processing and gratitude co exist simultaneously? That sounds like a weird question- because I"m sure they can co-exist. But it's a question that pops up in my mind occasionally.
@robertgemeinbock5795
@robertgemeinbock5795 3 года назад
Super late answer here, and I trust that you found your own truth to your question already. Still I feel like sharing my perspective. By cultivating gratitude, the 'muscle' you exercise is your capacity for self-love. Remaining in this state of gratefulness WHILE you experience your mentioned processes simply makes it a whole lot easier and smoother to feel all those emotions coming up. It helps in opening up to your Self, which ultimately is love, without clinging to the processes which come up or spiralling into self-judgment whilst doing so. Gratitude is not so much a way to bypass but more so a tool to aid you on your healing path.

Should one do this program right before bed, or should it be done earlier in the day? Thank you Max for posting this. I am doing it intermittently during the day and it is helpful, but would like to know if it is effective to do at night time just before bed.

I have never imagined 3 breaths could bring me in tears…. Thanks so much, Max. Just one question: are these breaths better doing through mouth all the time?
@MaxStromOfficial
@MaxStromOfficial 2 года назад
Good morning, thank you for your question and I'm glad the breathing has already impacted your emotions. The answer to your question is that you can breathe through the mouth or the nose as you prefer. But remember to expand the chest out to the sides like you did at the beginning with the hands on the side ribs. This is significant to help alleviate stagnant emotions warm regards, Max

Thank you Max Strom. I feel so relaxed just imaging your voice. Is your ocean breathing in and out always through the mouth?
@MaxStromOfficial
@MaxStromOfficial 6 лет назад
Hello Heidi, sorry it has taken me 5 months to answer this: No, we learn ocean breathing through the mouth and then once competent, we breathe both in and out through the nose, while continuing to use the back of the throat to regulate the air flow.
@MaxStromOfficial
@MaxStromOfficial 5 лет назад
Hello Dearest Heidi - It is good to hear from you. No, not always through the mouth. At first I teach it this way so people learn to control their breath in their throat. Once, learned we continue to control their breath in their throat but with the mouth closed. Warm regards ~ Max

Max Strom I was wondering about mouth vs nose breathing, since mouth breathing triggers the sympathetic system. You’re the expert, not me. But it was confusing how this is possible to relax without the nitric oxide from nasal breathing.

Can this be done to cure insomnia
@MaxStromOfficial
@MaxStromOfficial 3 года назад
Good morning, it can help insomnia very much but you also have to do some other things like slowly cut yourself off of caffeine and not drink alcohol at night. Also some exercise is important in case this is not part of your life currently. The combination of these things with the breathing generally cures Insomnia. best wishes, Max

this work is safe to do if you are pregnant and I particularly advised of your brief through the mouth while pregnant as it is more cooling. Just be careful not overdoing the side stretch and the forward bends. Warm regards, Max

Thank you Max ~ I tried this breathing exercise for the first time this morning. I really liked it. I'm trying to calm down my nervous system from several months of anxiety and panic attacks. Going to practice this daily and see how I feel. 🙏🪴 do you have a beginning class to teach me how to correctly do all the different breathing positions? Thank you. ❤️🥰 I started a different breathing exercises last week and it has you breathing fast and through the nose. I found that this was making my anxiety worse. Why is that? I mentioned it to the instructor and they told me not to worry about it. So this morning I tried this as I just happened upon it looking for a meditation. I feel better after your breathing lesson. 😊
@MaxStromOfficial
@MaxStromOfficial 3 года назад
Dear Eva, I'm sorry I missed this question somehow. I'm glad that this video has helped you. I do have an online video course called, Breathe to Heal, which you can find on my website: maxstrom.com/breathe-to-heal/online-course/ To answer your second question, breathing fast when you are not used to breathing exercises can trigger more anxiety. So I recommend slow and steady breathing for now. In the future would likely to be able to do the exercise this person showed you, but right now it is suboptimal apparently. This is normal. Kind regards, Max
