Since 2004 Beale had a lot of personal shit to deal with but Garry on the other hand dropped Phil with a punch and had a happy ending with dawn and summer.
Everyone in the comments section keeps saying Gary had a lucky escape, but have you ever thought had Bobby been bought up by Gary he may have turned out different
"I've told Peter and Lucy that they've got another brother" Well, that worked out great! Maybe Bobby would've been less of a psycho if Gary raised him...
I felt so sorry for Garry throughout this scene, for him to just give up the little boy he had been bringing up must have been so hard, would be hard for anyone if they found out a child they had been bringing up wasn't theirs, Eastenders did this scene wonders.
I'm a huge EastEnders fan, I've been watch watching it since 2010 and I've become a huge fan since. But by watching these old clips I'm understanding so much more
Gary leaving was a blessing in disguise. Can you imagine how he would have deatl with The Slater Drama. Big Mo with The Catfish, Stacey in Prison, Jean's Co-Dependency, not to mention Haley getting pregnant for Alfie Moon, and God knows what else.
There was more dialogue in this scene if I recall correctly when Ian speaking from experience after Stephen disowned him upon learning that he was Simon Wicks son tearfully tells him that nothing will hurt him more than the day that Bobby whilst older learns who his real father and then turns his back on Gary forever
Again they missed out more of this Im sure watching it over again. Like just after Gary walked in and confronted about he took pleasure in watching Bobby & Laura struggle looking at Bobby as though he was "vermin" then he disgustedly asks Ian that shouldn't Gary now be looking at him as though he's vermin
At the Slaters, Ian was worried sick because he was looking for his son. Although he’s gonna phone the police to report a kidnap. Then seconds later, Garry and baby Bobby came into the kitchen and Ian knew that’s his son because although he didn’t know that he was the father. But it turned out that he is the father because Bobby is his son. Garry told Ian about his late wife Laura Beale because he hated her and he couldn’t bother to come to the funeral. So he didn’t turn up. Ian took his son home and that made Garry and Lynne felt absolutely devastated. Garry wanted to be the father of Bobby because he wanted to have a future with him but it turned out that he can’t.
Because lynne was his wife and they knew it upset her. Like I can see their point, would you want your husbands love child he had from a 1 night stand in your house?
Eh, if Bobby didn't do it, SOMEBODY would have. That girl made too many enemies and had enough people knocking her on the head the day she died that SOMEONE would have done it eventually.
I Absolutely Love Lynn Gary Hugging When He Began Emotional Upset He Was Adored Bobby Gary Had Say Goodbye To Bobby When Ian Take His Son Bobby He Wants Peter Lucy See New Brother They're Young Gary Become Upset Tears His Eyes He Come Over Lynne They Both Hugged Lynn Tried Make He is Okay She How Much Love Gary They are Married She Hates Seeing Gary Get Upset
Ah I miss the old soaps! It's not the same now. All the family used to watch the soaps every night whilst eating tea. You could connect with the characters and you looked forward to seeing what happened next. Not these days, it's all so cheesy and corny. Bad acting, same storyline we've seen done a million times. Not many stable/long standing characters anymore, they get brought in and switched out within a few months, you don't get to build that connection with them
Gary gets the opportunity to get rid of a brat that cries really loudly, shits itself and costs thousands of pounds a year and he's upset? he should be jumping for joy
***** He was unbelievably cruel. He wasn't always faithful and Laura went through a lot to keep him in business and she took care of Stephen, Peter and Lucy and he treated her like trash.
Both Ian and Laura believed that Gary was the father. This WAS Ian being there from "day one". Ian had secretly had a vasectomy around the time that Bobby was conceived, which he confronted Laura with and she admitted her one-night-stand with Gary. Laura herself only found out that Ian actually was the father after all on the day that she died, and she never had a chance to tell Ian (she fell down the stairs while rushing to answer the door to him). It's hardly "one just plain selfish" (whatever that means) for not knowing something he had no way of knowing.
@@jacetadams9461If I remember rightly, Laura found out Ian was Bobby's father when he was born, a year before she died. Bobby needed a blood transfusion, and Gary's blood group meant he couldn't be the father, but Laura strangley kept this a secret the whole time until she died the year after.
It's issues like these that men need protecting from. A woman who sleeps with two men at roughly the same time without either of them knowing and then going along with a guy who "might be the father because he's the best choice" when biologically he isn't and then devastates him. Felt sorry for both Ian and Garry as it was entirely down to Laura.
Laura actually thought Gary was the father though. She only found out before her death ian was the real dad and she tried to tell him but died before she could.
Gary actually wasn't a bad actor and he had decent story lines in his 1st four years in the show. After lynne left though, they didn’t know what to do with him and turned him into a comical side character. Shame really.
I feel Sorry for Ian,Fighting for a child that murder his half sister later(Bobby) also taking care of another boy that isn't even his(Steven). At least Peter is the only son that has not been involved with something that hurts or let down Ian.
And now this story line has been recycled (Jack giving Matthew to his biological father, Charlie ). I think Eastenders need to either change or stop completely. It's official: they've run out of fresh ideas.
Hide Barnes at first Gary and Laura thought Bobby was his because Laura had a fling with Gary when her and Ian were having problems. Ian had a vasectomy so it was assumed Gary was the father. Until a paternity test said otherwise. After Laura died, Gary continued to be a dad to Bobby, he loved him. But eventually had to give him back to Ian.
monalisasmile was there a paternity test? I thought it was because Laura put down Ian’s name as father on the birth certificate as that what she wanted.
@@PjD0150 My memory is hazy but I think it was because bobby had some check at the hospital and they needed a blood type match and discovered Gary wasn't a match or something? A lot of the 2004 era stuff was crap.
@@dwdawgx7640 no it was 2004, the baby was born around July/August 2003 so Bobby would have being about 9 months old here as this was around May/June 2004.
