I bought this album when it was new and Burn is such a kick ass track.I love seeing young talent like this and the smile on her face says it all too.She's great while having a great time doing it makes it even better.This young lady must be on cloud 9 after receiving major props from the master.Accolades to Ian Paice also for taking time to do this when most of his stature couldn't be bothered.I always respected him as a drummer and now even more as a person.Well done,both of you!!
It’s actually quite emotional watching a 72-year-old genius commenting on a super-talented young player’s brilliant effort to recreate one of his greatest musical creations from 46 years ago. He’s so patient and kind, but occasionally spots an error that he quietly enjoys pointing out - as he deservedly can. He’s a truly gifted craftsman. She gets fantastically close to replicating his brilliance.
I'm a guitar player and watching this brought me to tears. Great music is so hard to come by any more. But Ian being the amazing person and musician he is pointing out what she does right as much as where she could improve. He is such an unsung hero of rock drumming!

Hello Ladies, (Sina,Yoyoka) I hope you are both safe and well. While we are in this “lockdown” situation and not able to play our music in the normal way,I thought you might like to have a bit of drumming fun. Obviously we can,t meet personally at this time,(apart from the Covid situation we are in different parts of the world!). I was thinking of creating something between the 3 of us . Nothing serious or demanding,and definitely “not” a drum “battle”. More like an orchestral percussion section,working with,and for each other. As we all know, the technology available to us today allows us to do this as if we were in the same room. I have thought no further than this at the moment,but as we have all had positive responses to our clips on You Tube,it could be fun to do something together. I'd be interested to know what Ian could play when he was Sina's age; this sort of stuff wasn't around then. From watching and listening to Ian and Sina play this track I get the impression it's not the easiest drum part to play.

I agree, wild praise when he says "at that age I couldn't have done this..." from a truly honest artist. I can't predict the future so I don't know if Sina will grow to be an independent, original artist at the level of Mr. Paice, but if she doesn't do that, I can't imagine what other 17-year old drummer could.
Mr Paice, If you only knew how many drummers ( on all levels) are influenced by your drumming. You made us grab the sticks, buzz the rolls and choke the cymbals. yes there has been a lot of puzzling a lot of mistakes and a lot of frustrations but it never outweighs the fun we all had. You Sir, should be KNIGHTED for this. Thank you.
It's awesome Ian, that you took the time to listen to Sina. She is truly an amazing young lady and a fantastic drummer. I can only see her getting better as time goes on. I'm sure your wonderful comments will be a great inspiration to her.
I've been one of Sina's patreans for several yrs and she never disappoints. She is a graduate of the drum institute in germany and works very hard at her craft.
I wish that more of you masters would do just this with her covers. She has god given talent and deserves to hear from more of her idols. Been a Purple fan since the 70's and a Sina fan for a a few years now. The young lady has groove......no doubt.

Ian Paice has been my favorite rock drummer since 1972. I discovered Sina's RU-vid channel a few years back. I'm one of the people who suggested to her to cover Burn. When she did it, my immediate thought was wow. I wonder what Ian would think? Now I know!

Ian...I have been listening to Deep Purple for 50 years now. First, I want to thank you and the boys for the great music. As for Sina, I have been watching her play for a couple of years now and I too am amazed at the brilliance of this young lady. Thank you for sharing your thoughts. Like you, anyone who watches Sina play knows she is something special.

What a rich inspirational life you are living when the 11 year Japanese torpedo YOYOKA is covering your song. Sina did a great tribute and a few weeks ago she knocked Elvis out of the park (he had a great drummer in his band), but what Yoyoka has given us as a christmas present, really deserves your reaction. I hope you will be strict because that is the only way she can grow even more. To you I say THANK YOU for so much you have given to everybody who loves music ans nice humans beings. From the first moment I heard you drumming I loved it and your compositions are so rich and timeless which this beautiful young girls proves.

As a long time Deep Purple fan - I often have a look on Sina's YT-Channel. She does not only play drums, but almost all isntruments and singing, too, This beautiful girl from Germany is amazing. Not sure if you'll ever read through all these comments, Mr. Paice (I didn't), but it might interest you to know that out of all the drum covers she's done (well over 100 in the seven years she's been making them), Sina consistently points to this one as the most difficult of all. That's a real tribute to you, as well as an insight into the experience of a young musician who has studied many of the greatest drummers of the rock era. Like other Sina fans have done here, I thank you for making this video and shining a well-deserved light on this fine young performer. (By the way, she makes original music too!)
Not to be critical but the only video I felt wasn't spot on was 'Won't Get Fooled Again' and I was thinking maybe this is down to Keith Moon being self taught and so unorthodox in style.
@@gdail Most likely impossible for just about any drummer to replicate Keith Moons style, even the band themselves said that as good as the likes of Kenney Jones and Zak Starkey are, as well as other drummers they've played with after Moons death it just never was quite the same feel to the songs once he was gone.
I've been subscribed to Sina's channel for a good while now and saw this cover when she released it. So happy that you've seen it Ian. The BOSS was at its peak in his "first drumming era" (more funkier stuff is his second one). The energy, speed and SWING Ian gets in this studio take is unparallel, even for him live! hahaha. Another gem from that album is "Lay Down, Stay Down", one of his best studio tracks ever. Sina´s work is up to the task, which is quite a lot to say.
Seeing Sinas cover of burn, I thought - So brilliant, Ian MUST see this. Today it becomes true. My old time and nearly lifelong drum hero presents my new time drum hero on his channel. I'm simply lucky. The heroine received the accolade from the King. I am just happy that I can still experience this in my old days.

I started watching Sina's videos about a year ago. Like Sina, I started very young playing music but i certainly wasn't nearly as polished as she was when she recorded Burn at 17 years old! She comes from a musical family, he father was in a Beatles cover band for many years. I do know that she got the opportunity to attend Drum School not too long ago. That is exactly what she needed to blossom from a good drummer into a "Great" drummer, which she definitely is now. I can't wait to see where she is in 10 years. Very bright future in my opinion. Anyway, Ian, you have been the reason Countless people have picked up drums. You are and have been one of the greats for a very long time. And you are STILL going? You are like the Energizer Bunny! I hope you live to 200 years old and play the ehtire time!
Sir, This is an amazing point in time that I know Sina will remember for the rest of her life. You Sir, have been such an inspiration for her as she has mentioned and she's done at least 4 other covers of Deep Purple as well. Your words will resonate with those who have a hard time believing that Sina was that good at 19 and continues to grow and learn. It has now been 50 years since IN ROCK was released. I was just shy of 10 years old when I found it in amongst my brothers records. It is heartening to see Ian Paice here on Ytube and only just found this. I subscribed immediately. This all put a big smile on my dial but I'm sure Sina's will be even bigger. Peace from Aotearoa

Dear Mr. Paice, I feel compelled to write you, wishing to thank you for the years of enjoyment you and your music has given me and countless of others. I have seen Deep Purple twice. Both were in the same year of 1985 in February and March (Philadelphia Spectrum, Perfect Strangers tour). I have seen quite a few bands from the 60's, 70's and 80's. I can honestly say, Deep Purple on both occasions, was the best band I have EVER seen live. While many elements made this happen, it was that Deep Purple has the uncanny ability to sound (the quality of sound) as though we, in the audience, were hearing the music as if it were being played in the studio. That is, the undeniable, unadulterated, not hiding behind any clever studio tricks or other nuances. 35 years later, I still cherish having seen Deep Purple live and I listen to your music to this day. God bless you and your loved ones and again, a genuine thank you for the good times!

Wow, what a special event. Sina is going to be on cloud 9 after hearing your evaluation of her study and performance of one of her all time fav drummers. She has come a long way since she started her video productions at age 14. She is on the road to a great career in music, real music, not the engineered sounds that are flooding the industry lately. Sina is a great drummer and youtuber, what an honor you have reacted to her cover. Greetings Ian from Mexico, I have loved Deep Purple since I was a child and I have grown up with their music, they are the best band in history.
I'd say the way more important thing than her drumming abilities (amazing btw) is the fact that young people still listen to that kind of music and try to get into it. That gives me hope for future generations of musicians!

Deep Purple was my favourite band for a long time, I have already seen you live in 1970. And I have always found your drum playing awesome. I came across Sina's YT-Channel through another Deep Purple song, "Smoke on the Water". But the drum part of "Burn" is of course even more impressive. I'm very happy that you got to know Sina and that you like her drum cover of your masterpiece so much. Thanks a lot for everything!
Woow Sina! He's Ian Paice! I was born in 1959 and my favorite Rock band was and are the Deep Purple! I have all Vinil disco ! I have seen many concert of this band around the world, when i was 16 - 17- 18 years ! Woooow !

In my opinion, Sina's a drum Prodigy. I could be wrong but it sure seems like she can learn these drum parts in a week. I don't know how she kicks these video's out every week. She rocks! Thanks for noticing her awesome talent.

WOW, She's KILLING IT! GREAT ON HER! This is just amazing, I'll be watching this a few times, and I'll be saving it for my grandaughter. I've gotten her several guitars, and a keyboard, but now she needs a drum set too. I mean, she's almost 3, so she's got over a decade to catch up!
The very best part of it, she was TOTALLY digging it! That was just special! Where were all the 13 year old girls killing it on drums when I was thirteen? That was nearly 45 years ago, I would have made sure to form a band around her and we would have named it her last name! She's that amazing, I'm just gobsmacked!
