Free IBC totes for firewood opens up lots of ways to stack and store firewood . I share my thoughts on how I will put them to use even though I probably will not use IBC totes for my OWB firewood supply. The excitement slacks off when faced with disposing of the various amounts of dye remaining in the bladders of the IBC totes.

Good news! We had a thaw and was able to free up some that were froze in. I will try to make sure they all sit on some sacrificial boards before next winter.

One of the points I forgot to make was I dislike starting up my skid steer when its -26, or even in the single digits, when the IBC that's near the boiler is empty and another is far away. I will always stack my wood close to the boiler in rows that are easy to plow along and not plan on using them through the winter.

Yeah I just got some that I bought that had dye in them. Definitely needed rubber gloves around the dye.

Free IBC Cages are always a good thing. That is one thing I need to start accumulating. I would use the Skid Steer to dig a trench and bury the pigment since it is 100% biodegradable.

Having a big thaw so was able to move some totes that were froze to the ground and I don't mind firing up the skid steer when it's in the 30's. I try to avoid firing up diesels when temps are sub zero.
