Welcome to my channel. You will find projects in wood and metal, firewood harvesting and processing, saw milling, and an emphasis on wood turning. The wood I use in turning is almost always part of the firewood process.
Note that I am sharing my methods and projects primarily for your entertainment and if you are inspired or learn something, all the better.
Please help the channel grow by subscribing and sharing, it's very encouraging!
It's a worth while tool. My splitter shipped with the six way in it and my first attempt to remove the box wedge took awhile. Take the time while the wedge is out and index it. I cleaned the bottom that extends below the machine and sprayed it down with a cheap can of silicone spray making it even easier. Look forward to see what you come up with.
Until you commented on my channel I didn't realize this was your channel! The video is great. The Eastonmade 22-28 is a beast (I told you so, haha). Just subscribed ... looking forward to more.
I like your no nonsense presentation style. Well done. Where did you get the1 inch post and plate to connect your hold down jig? I have never see this and I want one!
I am a bit of a steel worker too and obtained a length of 1" cold rolled steel and welded a piece of 1/4" plate to the top of it. Drill some holes for screws and screw it to a piece of (in this case) 2x4 lumber. Then I shaped it for the spoons I make. The hold down strap can apply lots of pressure, and works well for hand carving too. Thank you very much for commenting and subscribing. More to come, bear with me as I mix it up with saw milling and firewood gathering.
Thanks Paul. I think it might be something Eastonmade might manufacture and offer. I know it's something I would purchase if available. Thanks for commenting.
Thanks! and thanks for taking the time. I think there is a video in what I've filmed of it in use, and will add dimensions but it was a product of what was on hand so stay tuned.
Carbide insert CCGT060202-AK. They are oriented sideways in the cut. I mill a pocket in a piece of 3/8 x 1/2 cold rolled, then fit and tig weld the holder into the knife. Thanks for asking, I really appreciate the questions.
Clever idea. Try holding a 3/4” down in your top had to measure your piece measure and cut take a small part of the process out. Stay saw and keep her sharp.
The cutters are diamond shaped carbide inserts. CCGT is believe is the designation. . I hope to make an updated video as that was an impromptu attempt with a cell phone. Thanks for stopping by and taking the time to comment.
I really enjoyed that. Thankyou. I like that table you did the sanding on with the tool rest. If you're up to it sometime please show in more detail what it looks like. I think you had a strap that you stood on to hold stick in place.
I was going to ask what wood you were using, but hearing that you're from Priest Lake (I grew up in Kellogg area) I kinda figured you were using White Pine (which I can't get in Texas). Really appreciate the info because I'm starting to make these myself, but mostly as gifts not to resell (maybe someday). Thank you
Bravo! 👏👏 Good thing you didn't hit that spike. It was meant to be. So cool how the wind created by the tree falling hit the camera like a shockwave. 🌲💨📸👍
It really did leave a shock wave I never would have thought about until viewing it on camera. I have another video sawing lap siding and other boards from it. Thanks for taking the time to comment.
Absolutely beautiful bowl !!! Love your artistic talent. Just wanted to let you know I gave you a shout out in my latest video on a donut chuck. Thanks
Dog plank is the last cut that is held by the "dogs" . Dogs vary with the different types of mills but in the case of thee mills the dogs would be the pipe clamps built into the bed.
I really liked how you jumped right in & made the stump box. Of course I stayed with you to hear ur tips. Thanks for another captivating video my friend.
