I’m on week two of the biome optima program. I seriously feel like 70% of my previous self before IBD. I also am having solid bowel movements most of the time which is so crazy to me, and I’ve been able to go 5-8 hours without needing to use the restroom. I’ve tweaked little things like adding some protein powder and peanut butter to my smoothies so I can stomach them. But I even go to a farm an hour and a half away to pick up raw milk and make my own kefir. Life changing, can’t wait to be fully healed. I’m also lactose intolerant but have found that raw milk doesn’t upset my stomach whatsoever

Now that I learned about biome optima and get really excited and wanted to try it immediately but sadly it's really expensive for me :( because of exchange rates in my country. But again I wanted to thank you for the bootcamp videos.

I still need your help to achieve full remission and have solid stools. My problem is I am not financial stable to join your coaching team. Kindly assist me with something helpful.

I just came here to pay homage. Kenny, not all hero’s wear capes. Thank you! Just want people to know that this %1000 is working for me. I started this regimen 40 days ago with some small tweaks here and there. It absolutely has changed my life. I was on entyvio (misspelled prolly) and remicade for one year each. I hardly noticed any changes until I started juicing. I quite all my medication against my drs orders which was prolly not the way to go about it but my dr lied to me and was in my opinion only pushing cancer. My dr didn’t care for my condition and hardly ever kept up with me until I told him I was discontinuing my meds, then all the sudden he was mad and basically told me that “if I stop that he would have to cut my colon out. I soon found these videos by Kenny. When you are desperate and broken you’ll try anything. Everybody’s body is different but I am so confident that this can work for you that I had to come back to comment and state my honest opinion. No fake news from this guy. Haha Again THANK YOU KENNY HONNAS! Shout out. Team Honnas. I’ve watched nearly all of these types of videos. Most of them are similar and share the same story. Regardless of what your dr says diet is a giant part of the issue.

Did you have any blood sugar issues only eating 2 meals a day and such a massive amount of rice in one sitting? We seem about the same size and therefore need approx 3000 calories. Just wondering how you can get that in 2 meals! Meal breakdown 1 cup uncooked rice = 700 calories 8 oz salmon = 400 calories 1 cup milk kefir = 200 calories 1 tbsp oil = 100 calories Veggies = 50 calories Total per meal approx 1400 calories Is this approx what you were eating per meal? Thanks a ton for your information. It is extremely helpful!

Very interesting I do something similar which I got the idea from you. I noticed you aren’t recommending apple cider vinegar anymore. I do two solid meals with the smoothie in between and I add most of that stuff except I add absorb plus sunflower butter slippery elm and marshmallow root! But I try to then not eat until 11 am the next day so I get at least 12-16 hours of not eating. I noticed a lot of people in the IBD community who have healed are against rice and potatoes etc like the SCD diet AIP why do you say rice is fine? I tried cutting out rice and sweet potatoes but I really like them lol and they seem to do me good especially when I cool them. I heard resistant starch is beneficial to the gut microbiome. I’ve never had kefir with my dinner I’ll need to try that! I have a place here who makes kefir and they’re a smaller local company but the use low pasteurized whole milk.
@team_honnas
@team_honnas 3 года назад
I'm a big fan of apple cider vinegar, I think it's fine to add to the program for the most part. The only reason I'm slightly hesitant is because a little bit goes a long way. If someone drinks too much, it can cause diarrhea (speaking from experience haha). But it's a great prebiotic and it has some other awesome benefits. I need to refresh myself on the ins and outs of the SCD and AIP diets. I don't remember what the reasoning as to why they avoid rice and potatoes. I've personally found them to be very helpful, especially potatoes as prebiotics. White rice is also something that I've found to be very soft on the colon and easily digested personally, and from what I understand is totally fine to add to a gut microbiome optimizing protocol. 👊🏻

I just want to say this.. I was depressed and crying my self to sleep last week(sat and Sunday). My ribs were aching, i had alot of urgency and I was bleeding again with anything I ate. Got out of a horrible 6 month flare in may and it was starting back up. I couldn’t deal with thinking I’d go back to this horrible flare up place. I love food but I said “no more”. Went cold turkey on the regimen. Today(Friday), I’m going to the bathroom maybe 3 times. A minimal amount of blood. No pain. I sleep, walk and feel very well💗 🥲 For a week now, Been drinking kefir from the store every day but my grains are soon to come in the mail. I also have my first ferment cooking up in the counter. I’ve eaten extremely boring (kefir smoothie in the morning, added boiled eggs to my lunch since it didn’t seem to bother me at all, and chicken or salmon and white rice for dinner). I’m waking up at 8 am to fast and pray. This gives me a lot of reassurance and strength to continue with patience that all will be made well✝️ 💗 Start eating at 12pm and i stop at 7:30 It hasn’t been easy, especially in the beginning. My symptoms actually became the worst by Wednesday but I kept going. Now Friday, I feel I would say 75% better. Kenny if you’re reading this, I’m sure God sent me to your channel. Thanks for the great videos. Do you think it's possible to use diet/lifestyle to get off potent IBD drugs like Humira? Previously I was on Remicade, drastically altered my diet, achieved remission, and tried to quit taking the drug. I experienced severe withdrawal symptoms and after struggling for several months was eventually convinced to start Humira (exactly the same therapeutic mechanism, TNF blocker). I am doing very well again, low inflammation and practically no IBD symptoms. I have optimized a lot of aspects of my diet and exercise routine. I really want to wean off Humira, but am worried about going through the withdrawal symptoms again. Do you know if it's possible to get off all meds for severe Crohn's, and if possible do you have any tips for getting through the 'withdrawal' period, assuming it's temporary?

Hey Kenny, Thanks so much for your videos. So very informative. I’m currently in the process of healing from a flare. Having to take steroids to stop the bleeding but working towards weaning off and adopting a more wholistic way of living. I’ve noticed through your videos, you don’t use too much green leafy veges. I understand because it’s considered roughage. Curious to know, do you incorporate it much now in your own personal diet now that you’ve healed? Or are you finding that this is probably best avoided for those with UC? I’m currently also adding cooked spinach to my meals, considering I am in a flare state, do you maybe think that that’s not the best idea? I’m just trying to ensure that what I do eat is also nutrient dense. Thoughts/insight would be appreciated! Cheers, Farhana
@team_honnas
@team_honnas 3 года назад
Hi Farhana, I eat leafy greens a few times throughout the week. I actually have always really liked salads for some reason haha. I also add arugula or spinach to my daily smoothies on occasion. I would definitely avoid leafy greens while still in the optimization process as I think that may cause some irritation. However, after you're feeling good and the inflammation has decreased, I don't see any reason to not incorporate leafy greens when you'd like to. And if you're feeling good with the cooked spinach right now, then it's probably okay, just know that it may be causing a bit of irritation. Hope that helps! 💩

Hey Kenny, been following your videos for a while. Will def take a closer look at your online program. My worry is this--I have serious issues with dairy and fermented foods. I am lactose intolerant (I know some say with raw dairy that is not an issue). I also had colostrum recommended to me. Tried a small bit and had the 2nd most painful day of my digestive life. Sauerkraut gave me the #1 most painful day digestively. What do you think for people who may not be able to handle ferments and/or dairy? How do they go about optimizing? I've been eating high fat low carb for years and was at a kind of mediocre homeostasis, but am now in the worst flare I've had in years. Part of me wants to give your method a shot, but just don't have a great track record with dairy and fermented, so really not sure. Do you think different people have vastly different gut biomes and certain methods only work for certain people? Anyway, your videos are always a source of comfort and hope. Hope you're well.

I was suffering from blood loss similar to UC about 5 years ago but never got diagnosed even after a slew of tests, then all the sudden it stopped and was replaced with severe slowed digestion/constipation. Have you heard of any other instances like this? I suspect either I have low bile production or scarring in my small intestine causing partial blockage, it's life altering and affects my appetite and sleep. I hope to recover and return to powerlifting/bodybuilding but I take it one day at a time. All my symptoms started after taking accutane 10 years ago
@team_honnas
@team_honnas 3 года назад
You're very welcome, I love being able to do this. 👊🏻 I have heard of similar symptoms, though I'm not sure what the best way is to work towards improving them. Have you had a colonoscopy or endoscopy (whichever one takes a look at the small intestine) to see if you do have scarring/blockage in the small intestine? That may help isolate what the main issue is, and if it is scarring I wonder if your doctor would a recommend a relatively high fiber diet to try and expand the small intestine? I honestly am not sure how they would handle that or what a doctor would recommend. Do you handle smoothies okay?
@bwatt1383
@bwatt1383 3 года назад
@@team_honnas smoothies are ok not perfect, an interesting similarity with your diet is that pressure cooked/stewed meals are much easier on me. Already had colonoscopy I'm looking to get an endoscopy next year then may consider small bowel resectioning but that's after much more deliberation. Just ranting here, due to being weak and vulnerable I just got swindled for 2000$ for guided holistic medicine for 6 weeks, all it is dietary guides and supplements mailed to my doorstep with no effort on the Dr's part. After 10k$ in medical tests at mayo clinic, I'm going to pour myself into your work and recommendations before I consider surgery

Does your course have meals that don't requiring cooking? Also any restaurants takeout foods allowed? I live alone and I'm sure you know UC can make one weak, in pain and debilitated so cooking & cleaning can be agonizing some days. If not, I'll still be willing to push through it. There's nothing more I want in the world right now than to be healed
@team_honnas
@team_honnas 3 года назад
The smoothies don't require cooking, but they do require the physical act of making them. The other meals do require cooking, however, you could potentially make large batches of meals once or twice per week and have the food prepped and ready to go for most days. I totally get the inconvenience, but unfortunately it's hard to work around that. You could look at some of the recipes on the program and try to order that same meal from a restaurant. For instance, taking the turmeric chicken recipe from this video, you could order a baked chicken with mashed potatoes. Not the same, and not as good nutritionally as it would be if made at home, but you could order things that are similar to the recipes. The challenge is knowing what oils they used to cook the chicken, whether or not they put salt, pepper, and milk in the mashed potatoes, etc. In that case you could just order a plain baked potato. So you can get creative if you want to go that route. However, I would personally invest in a slow cooker or instant pot, and put the food in the cooker first thing in the morning so you don't have to think about it and then by the time you're ready for a meal, it's just sitting there waiting for you. Hope that helps!

Hey Kenny! Been following the diet for about 2 months now and found my stools have decreased to about 3 a day, this is with intermittent fasting everyday, kefir and fermented foods. Glad to hear you've been improving! That's awesome. "Normal" is a difficult thing to define when going through this process haha. If you're seeing improvements, I'd say that's a really good sign. I’m nearby. Look up “The Farm Connection”. It’s a food co op that sells raw milk from Miller Farms and all kinds of great local meat and produce. You can also look up Happy Gut Foods in San Antonio. They sell raw milk kefir and other fermented veggies at several farmers markets and locations around San Antonio. Good luck!

Glad your son is seeing improvement! I'm definitely not a doctor so please don't take the following as medical advice. That being said, just to clarify, kefir can be made from pasteurized milk. The fermentation process breaks down a significant portion of the lactose and amplifies the probiotic microorganisms. I just personally like unpasteurized milk better. I get my milk from Yonder Way Farm (yonderwayfarm.com/). They may deliver to San Antonio, but not sure. www.realmilk.com/ is also very helpful for sourcing milk.

I'm definitely not a doctor so please don't take this as medical advice, but my opinion is that you should swap the organic cocoa powder for cacao powder as they are different enough that I think it matters. I'm not sure about your question regarding working in construction. My personal experience is that I found physical activity to be pretty helpful, but if you're super fatigued and don't feel physically able to lift heavy objects all day, or it seems to be making things worse, then you may be over-exerting yourself. If that's the case, then maybe it would be worth trying not to lift quite as heavy at your job if possible. Best to double check all of this with your doctor and see what they think you should do!

@team_honnas 3 года назад
Hi Jeanette, I'm definitely not a doctor so please don't take the following as medical advice. I would recommend avoiding fermented foods and probiotics for the time being as well as any foods you know you have a sensitivity to. If it were me, I would proceed by having my gut microbiome tested to see which foods will benefit my specific gut microbiome the most, and then try to stick as close as possible to those foods. Over time, hopefully you will see improvement and will be able to slowly add in probiotics and fermented foods. I have an affiliate link with Thryve (trythryve.com/Honnas) that will get you 70% off your purchase, or you could go with another company like viome to have your gut microbiome tested. The reason I like this approach is because you get your food recommendations, you make sure they line up with the overall target of eubiosis, and then you can track your progress to see if it's actually working or not. Either companies may provide data that helps pinpoint what a specific issue may be that you were not aware of before. Hope that helps!

are some of the recipe's provided in the program quick and easy or something that can be manageable for single people who work fulltime out of the house? this has always been hard especially when trying to eat within a specific timeframe for IF. also how detrimental is not having access to non tap water other than to factor that cost into the budget and buy purified water?
@team_honnas
@team_honnas 3 года назад
I personally think it's very important to have access to clean, purified water. If you made an investment and paid up front for a good purifier, you would hopefully save more money in the long term than paying for bottled water. Most of the recipes can be meal prepped and taken with you to work besides the smoothies, though I guess those could be taken as well. They will require time and dedication to prep them unfortunately, but if you're able to make time for that once or twice per week, you could have most of your meals ready to go in the fridge. Hope that helps!

That is a very complicated question to answer. I actually still have not taken a deep dive into GNM, so I don't know all of the ins and outs of it. However, from the limited information that I do know about it, I think there are some beneficial lessons to be learned in regards to mentality. I think learning to identify certain thought processes and emotions can be very important in developing a proper mentality, however, I also think it's highly important to be consuming proper eubiotic nutrition and exercising appropriately. In simplest terms, I think it's important to master your thoughts and emotions while also mastering your diet and exercise. As a Christian, I look at the limited info I know about GNM through the lens of Christianity. For instance, Philippians 4:6-7 says, "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." We're called to not be anxious about anything, so I use this verse to show that I think GNM may help provide strategies for reducing anxiety. GNM may also help "take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ" as we are commanded to do in 2 Corinthians 10:5. So, all of that being said, I think GNM has a lot to offer in terms of developing a very strong mentality. However, once again, we are biological beings and are commanded to honor God with our bodies in 1 Corinthians 6:20. My understanding is that God designed the human body in a specific way with specific nutritional needs that are meant to promote healthy bodies. We have tons of scientific evidence that shows how our bodies respond to different nutritional therapies, and specifically how IBD patients may benefit from things like probiotic therapy, vitamin D, prebiotic consumption, and exercise. And so, my view is that we should take all of that into account and work on improving our mental health as well as our physical health. Mike the HYGG and I are good friends and have had some really important conversations. Mike is trying very hard to share knowledge that has really changed his life and I applaud him for that. Anyway, those are my general thoughts- I know it’s not a perfect answer. I’m still working on figuring out my exact stance on the topic.

I think u are closer Kenny.But why u don’t think about function neurology,i think the disease in the brain communication signals to the whole gut causes trouble settling for microbiom.B vitamins could be ,why normal people eat miserable foods with zero symptoms why !. Why autoimmune diseases are different and could affect any part not only colon .Are they because just those spices in our gut does not want us to live or there is something related to brain.why most autoimmune diseases targets stressed 😩 people? I love you so much Kenny but please think out of the box ,you need to try another solution besides your protocol.
