So far for me the Autel does one thing the CRMaxdoes not. When doing an auto/smart scan the Autel highlights which modules have faults whereas the CR Max you have to go through each module to find the faults which can be very time consuming
Attention Important: I have an icarsoft CR Pro. The CR Pro can only operate vehicles that were built up to around 2016/2017. For all newer vehicles you need the CR Pro + (until around 2021/22). No lifetime free updates... There haven't been any updates for this for a long time. Only for the system, but not for the vehicle files. Unfortunately, I fell for it too. If you want a more sustainable OBD scanner, you'll probably have to go for Launch, Autel or something similar. A pity.
Don't get the iCarsoft! I've got the Cr Max and it can't do numerous required things like DPF regens on Subarus, oil level resets on Mitsubishis and code resets on some models. It's an expensive paper weight for me! Customer service ignores emails too
Hi drew. I ordered the cr max from amazon. Didnt even recognise my 66 auris Tried manually after selecting toyota auris wasnt on the list of models. Plugged a 09 leon and 13 reg astra tried the special features like tpms injector coding came up as not supported. Sent it back to amazon. What a huge disappointment. What do you recommend what i should go for? Possibly below the £600 mark.
Don't waste your money on the cr max I bought it from this link of the video the customer service is terrible and I've had non stop problems with it since day 1 and they won't replace it even though its faulty, wish I went with autel now, the cr max after the update will not let me read any car at all so save your money!
Look, the Scan Tool Network is an advertizing venue and nothing more. You cannot evaluate a scanner in a matter of minutes. That is as useless as most videos doing an unboxing. What is needed is a SCANNER FORUM where various brands would have folders and people can share ideas and tips using it on the cars they own.
Any video reviews on the Topdon Plus vs Lauch X431 Pro vs Autel MK906 within the $1,200 range cant find any comparing to find the best bang for the buck to work best on GM and Chevrolet, Ford Etc..?

I just sent my CR Max scan tool back to the place of purchase because of issues I was experiencing with the tool. I contacted their "tech support" several times via email and received ZERO reply which equates into ZERO help ! So, BUYER BEWARE !
Will the iCarsoft CR Max enable Mercedes engine start after the car has been in an accident? I believe the Maxicom MK808 is capable of that, but I don’t know if the CR Max also has that capability.
@@achillies40 Thanks for the answer :) yea i see that, mainly i got this is my wife fiat is having sometimes where it cant regainere the partitelfilter, its a diesel, and what i can see it got dpf to force it to clean, and that will save me around 150 euro evry time i can do it be my self.
@@BahrDroner For the DPF to not regenerate, there has to be a reason. If you take the car for a long drive at high speed, like a freeway, and sustain the speed for around 30 - 40 min, depending on the vehicle manufacturer's specifications, the DPF should regenerate. If there are trouble codes before you start driving, it will not go into regen. You need to look at what the codes are and sort that out first. If you can see the DPF differential pressure sensor readings, you can tell if your DPF is blocked or not. This is important. The DPF system is not complicated but it can be hard to diagnose exactly what is going on. Look for videos on cleaning the DPF without removal. I am NOT a mechanic. This is just what I have found out when my partner's car had issues with the DPF. It has taken weeks to sort out. Even the mechanics couldn't figure it out. Turns out the CAT was blocked, the DPF was destroyed, the vaporizor was faulty and the pressure sensor goes funny when it gets hot....it's mounted under the car right next to the DPF....no wonder it gets hot.
@@achillies40 Okay, yea i got a normal tester, and it says partitelfilter code 2002 what i rempember. but i think its becores its so full soon, it need to be replaced, but its rly spicy to get a new on, like 1500 euro, so thinking i will do this for some month and then do the repair after the holydays. becores last time they did it with a tester it hold op for like 2.5 month. but thanks for the advice. and thanks for having time to answer :) hope i get a rly good day.
Hello. I do not like basically any diagnostic tools as regards to their live data GRAPHICAL mode. The update rate is painfully slow. I would usually grab my Micsig oscilloscope for those tests. Can you show what is the update rate in the live view graphical mode for CR MAX or CR PRO+? I can not find such anywhere.
After watching several of your videos I am detecting bias in your recommendations. iCarsoft seems to me to always over represented or superior. My view for what it's worth.
based on what I have read, these don't quite match VIDA/DICE. neither of these offer J2534 pass through, therefore if you need to reprogram modules with OEM Software, you would be better off with the VIDA/DICE.
Be aware of that the Autel don't work with the Volvo SPA platform, 2017 and newer, after the free subscription period. You need to pay every year for this, Autel say that the tool works whitout subscription but that it's not true for Volvo SPA platform. But compare this two with Dice/Vida , no. Vida is so much more. But Vida is not för hobby or amateurs after MY 2014/15 cars. Vida is today cloud based so you need a subscription and it's not cheap.

This channel is great. But it is very biased to be honest as he is obviously trying to sell the icarsoft so he isn’t going to tell you that the Autel is better
I got the cr max and they brand it as it can do everything but unfortunately thats not true its rather a basic scan tool as it doesnt support most things like dpf egr injectors or engine control module tried this on numerous vehicles and i car soft say they wont have any updates available for those options i asked them why are they on there and got no reply i guess its just a way of selling it as a top tool but with basic settings
I am not convinced of the free updates for life. Updates are not cheap for the companies to develop and pass on, so I have to question the quality of the updates on the CR MAX, are they as comprehensive, what might they lack. Also the MK808 is now BiDirectional is the CR MAX BiDirectional as well?
It would be good if you had said how often/many updates occur! I have iCarsoft CR pro and I can't see any updates available. You need to buy the next hardware version to get the updates.... :(
Hi got the icarsoft cr max I tried to code injectors on a 2011 Peugeot 308 1.6hdi and it keeps coming up application failed could you tell me what this means ? Thanks
both the CRMAX and MK808 are produced by the same Chinese company and that is why they have similar appearance and functions - Autel charge far too much for their yearly updates while iCarsoft provide free updates and a cheaper purchase cost - HOWEVER I recommend you read reviews of both units as there are many bad reviews especially for the CRMAX main complaint the unit does not do what it is advertised and really bad back up service - do your research before wasting your money
Hey i had a friend with professional Autel and he was editing options on the car ecu, like enabling options that were not enabled on the factory, like getting the remote control to open and close all windows, which of these will do that? Or those won't, only the really expensive ones do that editing? Thanks

No and that is a big draw back., As you can not add new keys using a master...Or create a new key from a blank... Something I sell to customers that only have on e key..How it paid for itself in just a few months....
