ICE FISHING for Panfish on a New England Lake 

At heart, I love fly fishing for salmonids, and this channel mostly just follows me around doing what I do, so that'll always comprise the bulk of the channel's content. I do the occasional vid with other species (smallies on the river, stillwater bass in Maine, creek fishing for sunnies, the recent multi-species quest), but it's accurate to think of my channel as "mostly trout fishing"; that probably won't change much. Though I _am_ pretty excited to have finished fixing up my small boat which will allow me to start getting out on stillwater a bit more often for bass and other warmwater species. The other two videos that have been highly requested are pike and striped bass. Both species are on my bucket list, but they're also challenging species in their own right. Although dumb luck can factor in sometimes, more often they call for species specific experience, investments of time to discover/learn productive spots, trial and error in approach and technique, sometimes focusing heavily on specific seasonal windows. And when I'm juggling work and family, those big investments of time needed to successfully branch out into unfamiliar species in unfamiliar waters can be a daunting prospect, if not prohibitive altogether. We'll see what the future brings, though. When I kicked off the channel almost three years ago, I couldn't have imagined I'd still be doing this 70 episodes later. But here we are. Hell, even _I_ can't say where the channel will go in the _next_ 3 years.

A buddy, though he basically was my guide out there since I’m entirely outside my comfort zone when it comes to ice fishing.
