Can confirm... 45yo, AUTISTIC "cis-white-male"... Undiagnosed until This Year... When you are part of the 2% of the population who unknowingly instigate a reaction of DISGUST from 85% of the Human Population, you might receive "special treatment"... but it sure as hell IS NOT PRIVILEGED. Trauma is no joke.

I can relate so heavily to going to Aspergers groups as a kid and realising the other kids there were way more severely autistic than I was. It felt quite lonely at times because it’s like you’re in a strange middle ground where you feel like you’re too “weird” to fit in with the “normal” kids but also too “normal” to fit in with the “weird” kids.
@VoiceChattin

@@agosesco7134 if someone doesn’t understand you, and doesn’t wish to take the time to figure out who you are, and why you are the way you are (not saying that in a bad way btw) they aren’t worthy to be in your life. Most people on the spectrum, are worth more to this world then the “normal” people. Just because you have an episode you can’t control, or you make an awkward joke every once in a while, doesn’t make you any less that anyone else bro, always remember that. You are special (in a good way, not in the R word way) just like how every last human is different, no two of us are the same, and we are all special. You however are even greater then them, because people that are on the spectrum, while they may be a little socially inept, or have episodes, they don’t judge people based on their flaws, and see humans how we all should see humans as, special individuals where no two are alike, and they never treat anyone in a demeaning manor. So while you may have some “issues” always remember it’s not an “issue” it’s just your unique personality, and you are worth more then most “normals” because you don’t judge people, you see everyone for their personality, and how they treat others, instead of pre conceived judgements based off of looks or intelligence or weight or skin color. So you are worth more then most 💕. Keep your head up, you will find people who love you for you, and you don’t need anyone that pre judges you because they have a view of what is “normal”, those people don’t even deserve your presence.

Agreed completely; I respect Dr K's ability to listen, not interject and not cast aspersions if they have no purpose. I'd personally be unable to hold back on certain views, I actually quite strongly disagree with him being diagnosed as such in the first place. I understand the conception that "autism is a spectrum", I don't dispute that - but the fundamental danger of mislabelling (and by that I mean applying a label overly critically) - that solidified Paul's childhood identity crisis, and the recurrent theme throughout is his lack of being himself (and therefore expressing himself authentically, not seeming fake etc.._). It's a success story with relatively minor collateral damage in the grand-scale, so it's kind of irrelevant but I wonder how much different things would have been if he wasn't put into this officiated category of being autistic and therefore a misfit by default. Would he have harnessed his intelligence to foster a true identity 15 years sooner? Would that have led to him being able to de-escalate the likes of Pimp? Who knows. This was way too long.
@agosesco7134
@agosesco7134 3 года назад
@@360Fov You can't know for sure if he isn't on the spectrum. As someone who was diagnosed I found myself relating a lot. Maybe it's not as severe but he has trouble understanding social cues, is sensitive to external stimulation and has trouble grasping his emotions, these are all autistic traits psychologist use to diagnose
@watsons4233
@watsons4233 3 года назад
@@360Fov yeah as an autistic diagnosed as an adult, I’ll tell you I had similar experiences. And not being diagnosed did not change a thing. In fact it made it worse. The key thing that would have changed my experience would be understanding and empathetic parents. Most parents do not even have self awareness, how could they even have empathy for others.

I’m autistic and could relate to a lot of what he was talking about. A lot of autistic people go through the same thing in school or something similar. I wish I could tell him that he should try to talk to other autistic people because we understand each other a lot more than a neurotypical person usually does. It can be rewarding just to look at online autistic communities. I’m 17 and still have a lot to figure out and learn.

I am 28 now and still have never dated or had a gf and don't have any friends due to low self esteem and low confidence about my looks. Thank you for sharing the specifics of your childhood- Often times, when we face struggles, we tend to link them to the specifics and create a situation in our heads where we think that because of the specific situation we experienced, nobody will ever understand. When we hear of others' stories that are just as bizarre as our own, it allows us to have hope that we aren't as hopeless and weird as we thought. The truth is, we are all faced with personal bizarre struggles, and that's exactly what will bring us together, and we're not as alone as we thought.

I really enjoyed hearing Paul talk about pretty much everything here. It gives a lot of good insight in to why things played out how they did. I've always liked Ice, like he said it was his quirkiness in social interactions that made him entertaining but I always saw some of myself in him in a way. The way the community treated him and kind of took advantage of him is terrible, for awhile he could not go ANYWHERE without getting calls at restaurants or even sometimes workers/general public he would interact with getting doxxed and harassed. Even throughout the bad there was good deep down. I always remember a time where Paul was approached in a coffee shop(I think?? or similar establishment) by an autistic boy and his mom. The kid was pretty shy and didn't say much but his mom was like "hey my son is a big fan blah blah blah" and it became apparent that he may not have actually known who Ice was but just that he was a streamer. And You could see kind of a demeanor change with where Ice turned in to Paul for a minute and had a nice interaction with the kid off/away from the stream. It seemed clear that in that moment at least he made a conscious decision to not show the kid on stream or even much of their conversation. It just always felt like Paul saw that this was a moment that didn't need to be seen by the community because of how they would have treated the kid and I always appreciated that. I might be remembering most of this wrong as it was years ago. Of course there were many more times where that same level of situational awareness could have been employed but seeing it that one time was enough to convince me that Paul at least TRIED to be a good person despite whatever mistakes he made. This moment just always stuck out to me. Love ya, Paul.

This was really wholesome and honestly brightened my day to see ice still doing his thing

Yoo I was a massive ice fan back in the day, even flew thousands of miles to snipe his Amsterdam stream lmao. I can't wait to watch this!

This was great, thank you both. I really enjoyed his content for years but was afraid to interact with that community. He's matured a lot

Iv loved the years watching this guy change and grow. I'd love to see him unbanned. Would be the ultimate come back story. And let other people know you can change for the good and its worth doing

it's never gonna happen tho. the MSM articles going against that decision would be a terrible PR move for twitch, so he's gonna be banned forever. it just sucks that he lives close to streamer friends but is never allowed to go on their streams and they're not allowed to even mention him

This video definitely aged poorly! Damn Daniel stealing 300k and being open with it really devalues the whole vid

One of my best friend in on the spectrum. He was bullied in school, he often gets concentrated on something and cannot get out (a girl is his life/ something else needs to be his life). He is very good in finding ways to keep me near him, most likely cause he is afraid of me leaving. People need to be VERY patient in such cases.

The section around 40 minutes or so really showed what Paul has tried to communicate to us about him learning about emotions. He really did an amazing job to be out there and performing for his audience in the past where we couldn’t see how he may process emotions differently from other people. This was very good. I just hope it is useful to Paul and not just all of us living vicariously through him like he is the biggest reality show ever.

Honestly i used to hate on Ice for so long. Now watching this i feel like its 100% genuine from Pauls side and its really gives me a way diffrent perspective of the guy. And if people think hes blaming his viewers etc you dont understand his disorder at all.
