Funny you say that because American fishing you have to fight the fish but you are bananas because we have more terrain for unpolluted eating than anywhere on earth, more predators eat off the rivers in north America than anywhere in the world. the ocean is glowing globally so when you come crying for some food remember you will have to eat your words first

That looked really good,grew up in minnesota so we ate lotsa Pike,walleye,perch,ect.The other fish my gramp liked to cook was the Bullheads,miss those days but B-Jizzle's Dance moves def put a smile on me face,peace......

I've done the mustard deal several times. Used it on some white bass the last time, and it was really delicious, didn't even need to dunk the fish into anything just eat like it was. No fishy taste like white bass usually has either.

That mustard jalapeno pike fry looked right tasty indeed. Not easy just sittin and waitin for a fish to swim up to a ice hole. Tip o the cap for yankin a couple nice ones up. Speakin of a couple of nice ones, the Ol Sasch sure knows how to shake and bake. Always enjoy watching you two being you two. By the way, had pike served up in a teriyaki wasabi sauce by a gal friend of mine, dee-licious.

Spearing looks so much less restrictive watching you. As a kid a long time ago, Shacks were made of wood, crazy looking skis, and lots of extra work. Especially hole cutting with a handsaw. My Dad stuffed rags into any holes letting in any light, and required absolute stillness. I love spearing, but it's so much different.

Growing up in Northern Minnesota we used to toss old egg shells down in the bottom of spearing hole to help visibility when it’s not clear

Just a mention but you should keep the windows shut when spearing for the best results. The old timers used to paint the inside walls of their wooden fish houses black just to keep it as dark as possible in the house. That helps for movement and shadows that sometimes spook the fish. The really big pike are sometimes really skittish to light or movement.

@@rodbollinger7017 They do, I wouldn't use them unless I absolutely needed them . I actually would use shell corn first. Not much either just a few Kernel's in each corner of the spear hole. Some places that's not legal either so check your states rules.

I do all of my fish in mustard. most of the mustard taste disappears and the spices in it stays. I do it with Crappie mainly, with corn meal. some good eating. keep the good vids coming!

We used to use an old chainsaw to cut those spearing holes, no portable heaters. Never had so much fun freezing your your butt off. Every lake had ice shanties on them in mid michigan. Now not too many.

Keep windows shut and center the spear hole so you can sit on each side. Saves on the back!

Here's the deal. I love your young enthusiasm for doing all the things with each other. I also love the fact that as a younger couple you utilize what you harvest. Warms my heart.
