Here we had an Iced up walk in cooler evaporator coil, we found that the unit needed a good cleaning and a few evaporator fan motors.

Those Bohn Sizemizer ceiling units were tanks. The coils always plugged up from the inside. Thanks for posting the video.

Sounds about right, everything these days is made to break at a certain point normally a few months after the warranty is out.

"Unfortunately I couldn't sell 'em something today that would last this long." that's planned obsolescence for ya
@jojomorgan8556
@jojomorgan8556 4 года назад
That's just the way the manufacturer stays profitable if you want to stay in business it has to be done... no new sales = no profit = no new products.... then the ones that were already sold wouldn't even have any parts to be repaired with.... Sears... is a prime example ... once you bought something it lasted so long ya never needed to go back...

Do you think having the fan coil in a attic not a roof top. would this cause the fans to ice up also

Mike I tell you what, I am an Imanifold Fan and have been using it for a few years now, When the Fieldpiece probes came out i picked up a set and I was pretty impressed. They have pretty good range, but the app is not perfected yet, but they are working on it. I think that they are worth it if you are working on single stage systems, if your working on multi stage systems than that's where the limitation is.

My norlake will not defrost. The coils are clean. When i melt the ice with a hair dryer it runs great but after a couple days it freezes up again. Why??

how long did it take you n help to get it all done ,helps in quoting jobs like that Thanks! and did you wear a rain jacket or some cover all to avoid them acids drips and wash water i bet that water and stuff stank off whatever they stored in there, we did a old restaurant same kinda coils lo profiles,Phew the stuff and water got splashed onto our clothes thru the rain jackets we stank like smelly old stale garlic,ginger and all kinda flipping sauces they must have stored in there it was a nasty experience all the way back home Nice Vid Thanks for sharing👍👍😎
@HVACRVIDEOS
@HVACRVIDEOS 6 лет назад
No rain jacket, we try to minimize the water leaving the coil, so we took it nice and slow. We did not get wet at all. The total job was billed out at about 6 hours i think, that includes time to go pick up the parts. Thanks for watching

Odd thing with any freezer it seams sometimes one thing can cause the whole system to snow ball,,, was working on a upright freezer for residential use and it was over stuffed with a bag of ice and that was holding the door open a smidge,,that caused a total ice over on the evaporator,,

Let me ask you something , why don't these walk-in refrigerator or freezers have air filters on Evap?
@davidboltwood6917
@davidboltwood6917 5 лет назад
air flows from inside out any filter would be on fans can not do that. customers dont no this you see outside of coil always looks clean nobody wants to pay to clean so gets cleaned when breaks other style air comes in from back gets cleaned every service.
@Rey.Moskito
@Rey.Moskito Год назад
Actually there is a screen inside the TXV that gets dirty once in a while. That’s basically a filter for the evaporator.

You can be sure that quality components dont make money like ones that need replaced more often. Again the consumer parts with more money, more often!

i'm not a hvac technitian.. but i think, something like evap coil should last a long time. it's just a hunk of metal (copper and aluminium)

I hate frozen freezer evaporators. You have to get rid of all the ice on top. Then scrape all the ice that formed on the floor from the water you used to defrost the evaps.
@HVACRVIDEOS
@HVACRVIDEOS 6 лет назад
just go slow when you defrost the coil, I try not to get any water on the floor at all
