His description of all the little details that go into picking the colors and leather, trim, and knobs is exactly the level of car designer/builder that sets you apart from everyone else, You touch everything making it more usable, ergonomic but respectful to it original design.
Usually im at peace with the fact that ill never be rich in life.... but when i watch these videos i start thinking of how I need to become wealthy now!
I'm at the place where I have to decide whether I should buy that vacation house for the family or get one of these. It doesn't really matter how much you make since there'll always be reasons to make more. Just be at peace with yourself and ogle the toys Jay Leno can buy : )
These builds are nothing short of moving pieces of art. The amount of detail, craftsmanship, and thought that goes into each one is nothing short of amazing. Congratulations in every way possible.
So is the price.......and a lot of that is taxes in California on everything from his building overhead to fees out the wazoo and payroll for employees who have to make enough to survive in one of the most expensive and repressive states in the country. NONE of that is this guys fault but I can't help but think he could save huge on the cost of building these in Texas making them more affordable and him making just as much profit. California does not deserve quality artisan guys like this anymore.
We're caring for this beauty for Tony and I even had the pleasure to drive it. As great as this video is, it cannot truly convey just how amazing this truck is. The color inside and out is spot on, plenty of power delivered smoothly, and handles better than a good number of the sports cars I've driven. Jonathan knocked it out of the park on this thing!!
Never ceases to amaze and gratify me that something that's essentially just a toy could be designed and built - sorry, crafted - to last for generations.
Where to begin…the truck is extraordinary. Especially love the backlit gauges that have digital functions - brilliant. Jonathan is a good host who explains the minutiae with controlled speech that helps viewer to absorb the details. Love the color and the 6.2L - I’d get one with 6spd manual. Amazing vehicle 🇺🇸👍
Wow, where do I start? I love the dash and steering wheel. The framework and driveline are absolutely beautiful and to be honest, there isn't one thing I would want to change. I don't know what this baby is going for but I betcha it's worth every penny. First-class work Mr. Ward.
Peter Lau yeah, the super custom ones...if you are willing to take one of the more production-oriented builds they don’t have as long of a wait. Also, sometimes people decide to resell them if you keep your eyes open for that.
I'm smitten...again! My grandpa had this very truck and the color had developed an oily blue-purple patina. Ohhhh...to have one in 'double cream': ivory points on cream body with caramel leather. Nothing like retro charm.
Beautiful truck. Absolutely love all the hidden details. I'm sure you've discovered by now, Baer makes a master cylinder called REMASTER. Problem solved!
Man... words cannot describe how HAPPY I am that you took the time to do a video like this and geek the hell out of this truck. I really love the build, as always it is exquisite. Love the color and the interior. Well done sir, you never fail to deliver, hope to see more videos like this in the future
Honestly, out of all the icon project trucks this one the two tone paint, that awesome green yes one of the military colors coming from a military family also the hidden of the sound system that's a clever idea. I can imagine the time that goes in building one of these treasures classic trucks..😇
How can you down thumb anything this beautiful? Haters gonna hate. I, on the other hand, Love the presentation! Along with the concept, details, improvement, engineering and dedication! Bravo! Thank you!!!
I have been waiting a while for this one. I think I say that about every project video posted. Edit while watching; I don’t think I have seen Jonathan this excited for some time.
Boy Mr. Ward, The rendition of the ThriftMaster is nice. But, the actual ThriftMaster you Re-Created is absolutely hands down "Drop Dead Gorgeous" John, I like to think I'm as "Geeky" as you are when I build a vehicle. But, every time I watch your completed builds you blow me away. You are a "Master of the Geeky Details" Which is what makes you ICON's stand out and I mead REALLY stand out! I'm building a 1984 Dodge Ram W350 Long bed Crew Cab Cummins Turbo Diesel conversion and have been taking notes for sometime to incorporate some of "Your Geek" in my project. Always enjoy your shakedown runs and detailed explanations. Thank you for sharing another "Masterpiece" Hope your head doesn't explode from the drooling dribble compliments. 1000 Thumbs Ups !!! Thanks, Ron
I once owned a first series 1955 which was the same body style with the 1954 grille. Loved that truck but at the time I had no place to keep it so I sold it. Have regretted it since. I love the body style and your re-creation is wonderful. If I only still had mine and could send it to you for your magic, would be great.
Jonathan Love your work attention to detail workmanship is flawless also at the end you always give your phone no not many custom car builders do that will come and see u 1 day until then T C
All your prior builds have been Amazing, but you knocked Amazing out of the Park with this one! Have a restored 54 Chevy 3100 you are welcome to use for R&D, for all your antics and design style!
You and your crew are true artisans, jonathan. I enjoy all of your builds, but this is my second favorite icon, next to the Rolls. Of course, the Rolls wasn't a complete rebuild/restore better than new, it was a survivor derelict rebuild/restore.
Love the truck (like all the other Icon stuff), but especially liked the leather seating and headliner (well, roof ceiling cover). Jonathon, you make me regret more and more not becoming a millionaire. :-) Keep up the stellar work.
Like you Jonathan, I geeked out on the finite details. Love, Love, Love it. Perhaps a right hand drive version for me please. I’ll dream of cruising the streets of my home town in Western Australia. Thank you Sir.
Wow! Amazing attention to detail as always. Add-on suggestions: Carbon fiber replacement for the hood, fenders, etc. , heated seats, and steering wheel options, heads up display module, central TPMS, leveling headlights option, rear window glass defrost, power seats, onboard wifi, coffee cup holder with built-in heating, adjustable height air suspension, wireless charging, a hidden dashcam. That's all I can think of right now.
Hello again from Melbourne Beach Florida. 🌴.It only gets better. Very cool.Would love a DERELICT 1956 Nomad white&turquoise. All that's lacking is my $ $ ! Hehe. 🏄
For me, the 50s American made cars mean chrome, lots of it! So, defenitely I love the Old School Thriftmaster over the other design. Master craftamanshift!
I just saw one of these at Petrol Lounge. I was blown away by the build quality. I've seen some "made for TV" builds, and they look like junk when you see them up close. This is not one of those. The attention to detail shows everywhere.
DAKOTA D'S ARE SO AWESOME. I cant wait for them to come out with an LCD changeable gauge set up for classics. I have their vfx's and they are awesome, but LCD would be sweet
