If you freeze the bit where Penny jumpscares everybody, you can see that Blake is jumping back with arms and legs straight out like a cat. It's a cute touch, since everyone else tumbles back ass-over-teakettle. Also, kudos to Weiss holding hands with a Faunus and calling her "family" _right to Jacques' face._ No wonder he needed a whiskey when he got home. Also also, I love that you put a second or two of the actual "Pomp and Circumstance" in your graduation bit. You rock.

Keeping in mind that the secondary huntsman academies (Beacon, Haven, Shade, and the upper half of Atlas Academy) are four-year schools, and that most of the cast started at 17 and are now 19, they have received their licenses two years early. RUBY started Beacon two years early as well, meaning she has received her huntress license FOUR years early, at the same age that most students START their secondary training.

I have a theory. So yang was told that Raven was like Yang in the fact she thought the best way to beat an obstacle was through it. But Salem is considered an obstacle, so why doesn’t she try to go through it? Fast forward to volume 5, when ruby is talking to Raven about working together, IT ZOOMS IN ON HER HAND. It only happens for a few frames, but the fact that they even put in the effort to focus on it is highly suspicious. Then Raven says, “you sound… just like your mother.” Fast forward to this volume. Qrow said something interesting after Ruby asked if the mission Summer went on was another of Ozpin’s secrets. He said that “Oz seemed just as in the dark as myself and your father” but interestingly made no mention of Raven. So what does all this add up to? I believe Summer convinced Raven to come with her, probably while saying many of the same words ruby said with that exact hand gesture. When they went there, Summer died or something of the sort, and Raven saw what happened and it scared her to the point she no longer wanted to fight Salem. With her portal she easily left. That’s my theory for what happened

Is awesome and her cat ears going into "high alert" mode at the end of the scene is a good response to Jacque Schnee. @ 26:24 the two penguins were joked by the community to actually be Cinder and Neo spying on the transport while being camouflaged by Neo

Since the intro first plays at the end of the first episode, it doesnt actually spoil anything major that you wouldn't have already known about, except arguably the new designs. I dont think it was a big deal personally

Something I LOVE about the intro for Volume 7 is that each of team RWBY flicks through their previous outfits before finally switching to their Atlas drip and it transitions so smoothly between each outfit for each of the girls. So fucking good! You also heard my favourite song from Volume 7 in this video-Brand New Day slaps and I can't wait for you to hear the full song!

There are a few different ideas for the team formerly known as JNPR. A lot of people like using Oscar's last name (Pines) to keep it JNPR. I've also seen ORNJ (orange), but that kinda pulls the rug out from under Jaune as leader; Oscar may eventually get ages worth of memories, but he isn't nearly ready for that yet. But I like your JRON idea because, in Latin, the J would be an I which makes it "iron". Another interesting thing is that the Ace Ops (Aesop's fables for anyone who didn't catch on) are a reflection of Team RNGR + Qrow; Qrow/Clover (bad vs good luck), Ruby/Harriet (speedsters), Nora/Elm (Hammertime), Ren/Vine (calm and contemplative), and Jaune/Marrow (inexperienced leader vs underestimated rookie). Lastly, the two other members of Team FNKI are Cobalt and Ivory. One has a white + gold aesthetic, the other is blue + black. But some people can't tell the difference between them.

List time~! 1. One of the biggest reasons I love this volume that even for just a short time. These kids finally get a chance to SLOW DOWN and BREATHE. Rejuvenates my soul~ 2.The Jacque reactions are always fun nice job there. 3. Always like Qrow and Clovers talkin in the truck and just the fact Qrow knows he's gonna lose but doesn't care cuz he's havin fun with the company just makes me smile big. 4. The seal bit. Nothin real deep here but it just for some reason hit me real hard in the funnies for like 5 minutes. Only thing missing was some actual seal barks and it would have made it 10 minutes of lol. Nother week nother good time. See ya next session.

I think you'll definitely like her more as the volume goes on. Also, we got see the current winter maiden as well. Now we know what they meant when they said she wasn't exactly a "spring chicken." Not sure if you've noticed yet or not, but this volume is the start of the regular 16-19 min run-time; instead of run-times being all over the place. - The reaction to Jac-ass is always pure-gold xD - Blake and Yang's reactions to Elm and Harriet's mocking of anything more between partners than business, that furthers pushes the two to keep quiet about their feelings for each other. Just had to spew that garbage to my girls >.< - Long live FRWBY (its a meme involving Forest's VA who jokingly said he was the new leader of the main team and main character of the show xD There's actually a bonus recap "episode" with him being salty af over Forest's death xD - I honestly believe there's certain people that are outside of Karma, like even the universe itself sees them blister they are and wouldn't bat an eye at their passing sooner. Jac-ass is definitely one of those types. - You are definitely not alone in the jump-scare, since I've seen plenty of reactors get hit with it at Penny's landing xD - BB selfie that was everywhere after this episode xD - The Qrow and Ruby scene is the best example of why I say I'm glad to now have Jason VA-ing for Qrow. He brings so much emotion into the role and actually feels like an uncle that's carrying a lot of baggage, scars, and experience. - Love that the writing tried to spell out the difference for Ruby's approach with IW, as well as the intelligence of it. Then again I was already seeing and respecting exactly that. - Nuts and Dolts is probably at spot 4 on my fav pairs list (BB, Renora, Arkos, N&D) - As alluded to by Qrow's comment, he's stopped drinking since the v6 finale had him put away the flask as a symbolic gesture. - Love Robyn. - Jac-ass's tactics are fk'd up, but also sadly and infuriatingly reflective of irl politicians. Especially in recent times.

Qrow & Clover are a popular ship, don't worry about shipping them, too. Their ship name is actually "Fair Play" based on that scene in the truck in episode 5. Just imagine how rarely either of them have been able to play a game like that without their semblance tilting the odds.

Ironwood's plan never mentioned the people of Mantel (he said he thinks they are prepared to handle the panic but from the Grimm attack and giant hole in the wall its clear that Mantel is under constant threat), also the plan seems to involve telling Atlas about Salem, handling the panic and then telling the rest of the world about her and swooping in as the saviours of Remnant while the rest of the world is in a state of panic that Atlas had the chance to weather before the others

They usually release the intro on YT before the first episode airs, they didn't for this season for very obvious reasons.

Remember how Adam used Blake’s issues with her parents to manipulate her in the character short? I firmly believe that’s why Blake grabs Weiss’ hand in this scene rather than Ruby or Yang. It isn’t just an “F you” to an infamous bigot-it’s also an abuse victim supporting another abuse victim. Blake is the one to grab Weiss’ hand because she knows EXACTLY how Weiss is feeling. 11:09 You can even see here. Yang looks surprised, Ruby looks worried, but Blake looks PISSED. She reacts more aggressively because she knows precisely how much pain Weiss must be in because of that one little comment, and seeing someone she loves be mistreated in the same way she used to be mistreated gets to her in a way the other two just don’t have the experience to relate to.

CHAPTER 5 IS MY SECOND FAVORITE EPISODE. I LOVE Team FNKI, I made that new cosplay of Neon in like 2 weeks when it came out 😅 Fun fact! The K and I of the Team are Kobalt and Ivori after the infamous dress from 2014 so they kept the meme theme going! Also Oscar's last name is Pine so they can stay Team JNPR! They already use Ren's last name for the R in spite of the fact that they let us think for like 4 years that Ren was his first name and also its what he goes by but it is still his last name. BUT a lot of people also go with JNOR (junior)

One thing about this volume is the hidden details. You can see a poster of Robyn in chapter one with her name. In chapter 2 is a school bulletin board mentioning Jacques trying for the election. Last chapter had a good revealing they would be made Huntsmen in this episode and this one has a news feed while Jacques talks showing it's been a while Monty since the wall was breached and not fixed. Now for a semblance rundown. Clover randomly causes good luck around him. Vine can make stretchy aura limbs like Mr Fantastic. Elm has aura roots like a tree to plant herself into the ground to hold herself for a strong blow. Harriet is pure speed with a lightning asthenic and Marrow can freeze in place anything he points at and commands Stay within a given direction. Oscar's semblance is being adorable. Jacques has a semblance for pissing his pants when scared. He also wears a clip on tie.It also doubles as a noose for hanging himself in an emergency.

You sure are getting a lot of use out of your semblance this time Ghost! XDDD But yeah, its already clear to see v7 is very much about the politics of Atlas and your assessment of the whole 'kinda shady power moves being pulled potentially by Atlas here' was pretty damn amazing insight. Some fans STILL can't recognize those vibes but BAMN, you just took a single glance and instantly identified the issues with Atlas being the one in control of the Amity Arena and its soon to be made CCT tower! Very damn neat =c). Other names that are liked are JRON (Iron), JNPR (still Juniper but using Oscar's last name Pine for the P) and ALPN (Alpine, using Jaune's last name Arc as the starting letter). Personally ALPN is my favorite since it brings to mind whites and greens, has Jaune in the leadership spot and still alludes to the importance of my best boi Oscar and has a P to share with Pyrrha without Oscar usurping Jaune but sadly it hasn't taken on with the fandom very well, but eh good old JNPR still makes me happy so eh~

I loved all the comments, especially the ones were you asked a question and we were all thinking "heh, if he only knew". On the other hand, one thing stood out to me at 19:30 that seems like such a minor point. This is when Jack-ass was sitting in his parlor drinking whiskey/bourbon/whatever. The whole house is obviously the home of a rich man, and the study is decorated as such, but it is all TASTEFULY decorated. We don't have gold-plated walls, we have books, nice chairs, and a big fireplace, nothing that would scream Conspicuous Consumption. We've seen the rest of the house as well, and all of it is probably best described as "Wealthy pretending to be merely rich". I imagine a lot of the house was built by Weise's grandpa, and he was "a working man" more or less. And here sits Jaque-ass, with his still-pressed suit even though it's the end of the day, perfectly coifed hair, and round balls of ice. Seriously? Ignoring how full of himself he is to always keep up a perfect appearance even when home after a long day, round balls of ice are just stupid. I know that money-wise this is chicken feed, but it just screams to me "I have money and I'm not afraid to waste it on something unimportant, even when no one will ever see it." Despite being angry enough he needed a drink (or more), square ice isn't good enough for the great Jaques Shnee! Probably not that big of a deal, but it bugs me and something tells me Grandpa wouldn't have bothered.

Along your thinking with “who is the Summer maiden” As much as I do think Summer being alive is a possibility, I think it’s also likely going to be someone Blake is close to/will get close to. My reasoning is this… • Cinder hates Ruby with a PASSION, as a result when she dies she will probably be thinking of her • Raven is Yang’s mother and while she’s a bitch and also really complicated, she does definitely care about her daughter in her own weird, unhealthy way • Winter is Weiss’ sister and loves her very much, and their relationship has been heavily emphasized lately Which means so far the only one who isn’t perfectly set up to become a maiden is Blake (I don’t think it’s Kali but if it is somehow I’ll lose my shit).

The day Jacques gets punished for all he's done will be a day to truly celebrate. It's going to be fun watching you just want to beat the stuffing out of him whenever he appears. Great reaction as always! A few things to mention. 1: I was mistaken in my previous comment on this Volume's theme being fear. That's what I get for going off of my bad memory. Turns out the theme is actually trust, which still fits well with what I said about fear and paranoia as trust issues are everywhere in this Volume obviously. 2: Robyn became a quick fan favorite, especially with female fans. She may seem a little headstrong but considering that she's fighting to help the people of Mantle that Atlas basically abandoned, she's got good reason to be a little aggressive. Also, she's opposing Jacques in the election, so I'm naturally going to side with her. 3: During episode 5, it's shown through a montage that some time clearly passes as our heroes work as official huntsmen & huntresses. The exact amount of time is unclear, though one of the novels seems to indicate that Team RWBY is in Atlas for over a couple of months at the very least. An upcoming game by WayForward (creators of the Shantae series) called RWBY ArrowFell features an original story made with the show's writers that takes place during this specific period of time. It's set to release this fall. 4: The remaining members of Team FNKI are Kobalt and Ivori. Just like Flynt and Neon, they're also based on memes, or rather a single meme in this instance. They're based on an infamous dress from 2015 that some perceived as being colored black & blue, while others thought it was colored white & gold.

Good insights on the Atlas satellite, it very much feels like creating client states out of everyone else but with extra steps. Fun aside, but as hate-able as Jac is, he's entirely right about Ironwood effectively stealing private property without even a vote. I love how V2 Ruby struggled to carry Penny but V7 Ruby can now hoist her up in the air like she's nothing XD Fun detail about the first meeting with Robyn is that we find out Ironwood's been lying to the cast, at least by omission, IE he's been purchasing supplies "For Mantle" then embezzling them for his secret project without telling the main cast, the Ace-Ops might know but don't care. Idle aside, but I always found Ironwood's treatment of Fria to be cruel, totally isolating someone just so he can control where her powers go is bad, but Fria's barely able to take care of herself.

So glad you finally saw the Opening, definitely one of my favorites! One of the best details is that Team RWBY breifly all cycle through their past designs before landing at their current Volume 7 designs, a detail I absolutely adore. The final shot of the opening, with the Staff of Creation behind Monty's name is just perfect. Gotta love when Ruby, Blake, and Yang stand with Wiess against Jacques, I found your reaction to his entrance to be just gut-busting hilarious, love how you have so much disdain for him to warrant a reaction like that. So as I mentioned before, we get more information on the enigmatic Summer Rose and her mysterious final mission, it's pretty telling though that Qrow doesn't know the details, nor does Oz seemingly, Qrow did mention that her last mission was one she kept secret from everyone, including STRQ and Oz, so we can assume she operated on her own for it, hence why no one knows what happened to her. Here's hoping we eventually get more details. There's actually been a ton of demand from fans that we get a Team STRQ series, to see a young Qrow and what their dynamic was as a team, not to mention, get to know Summer and see what she was like, and what sorts of stuff they got up to in their day, though it has been said they got similar treatment from Oz that Team RWBY did, bending the rules, making exceptions, Oz definitely has a tendency to play favorites. There's also the wonderful surprise of seeing Team FNKI again since Volume 3, and seeing the other members of the Team, Kobalt and Ivori. It's great to see Neon and Flynt again after so long! Also, how about Jaune attracting all those moms, so much so that he's gotten multiple casseroles made just for him, that was hilarious. "It's totally the haircut." Then we get to Robyn Hill, played by Cristina Vee, and her Happy Huntresses, who is very important for this upcoming conflict, she's based on Robin Hood and his Merry Men. Also, put a pin in that moment where outrstretched her hand, that'll come into play later. We got a peek at Freya, the elderly Winter Maiden, and learned that Ironwood has been building Winter up to inherit the power of the Maiden, while she says she'll make it her own, this definitely ties into the arc will be going through. Final note: you're a scumbag Jacques, shave that bush you call a mustache off your ugly face and take off that clip-on tie while you're at it.

During the RTX 2019 RWBY Panel, the voice actors were asked on what the audience would expect in Volume 7 in 3 words without spoiling. Miles Luna got an answer from Eddy Rivas and he told everyone that it's not a joke. The answer he blurted out from Eddy was Real. Thirsty. Moms. And that is what you've seen while watching Chapter 5 with the moms being flirty to Jaune.

Going out into nature is always a great getaway. Didn't get to do a family camping trip this year, but did spend a week at Scout summer camp with the youngest. The montage scene in Sparks is one of my all-time favorite RWBY moments. It’s so good to see everyone happy and doing what they love, even if just briefly. V7 in general is tied with V2 for being my favorite season of the show because of just how good I feel it showcases what RWBY is truly about.

I've seen people compliment this chapter for its moral complexity, and I'm starting to see it. Mainly because the show obviously wants you to be on the heroes' side, and think Ironwood is bad. Yet I can't see how he's wrong in almost any way. Atlas is looking out for Atlas rather than stretching itself thin and screwing over people at home? Makes sense. Winter is the only one who can see Fria? Makes sense, when Neo can disguise herself as anyone. The fewer people can see her, the less likely an assassin gets in. Winter is chosen to be the next maiden? Ironwood's other option of a woman he can trust is a robot. He doesn't know if that'll work. Who else other than Winter? Winter doesn't have a choice? That's the point of the concept, unless you're going by Pyrrha's interpretation. No one has a choice. And it isn't like Winter can't think for herself. Winter didn't have a choice? Well, the choices were save herself and potentially doom the world, including herself, if Salem wins, or potentially risk her own life to help save the world. It's a crapshoot either way, because you have no idea if you'll die in vain, or save the world, or end up being the wrong choice that was picked out of desperation. Trying to decide one way or another if it's the right thing to do is impossible, because the answer relies on way too many unknowns. Also, I don't know if it was on purpose or not that they had Jacques use that trust nonsense invoking Robyn. It's impossible to trust her if he could just willingly ignore her and make it impossible for her to get their jobs back, ensuring that the answer is "no", no matter how much the people of Mantle want to say "yes".

Loved this reaction you are great as always!!! The scene with Jacques is a heavy one using emotional manipulation with Wiess using her mom in the convo 😳. Hated when he did that. But I liked the way ironwood stood up to him as well for Wiess. Also loved how Blake held her hand since she knows what that manipulation looks like since she was with Adam. They are officially huntsman and huntresses!!!! Yayyyy!!! Yeah with the withdrawal of information seems like he was trying to give them a chance to open up but it didn’t feel like the right time. The scene with Ruby and qrow will forever be in my heart. We needed a scene like this with them both. She finally put out how she’s feeling about it all. And qrow is right in saying what he said to her about the oz situation. He isn’t wrong at all. Summer mention with the two of them finally!!!! Honestly this scene is beautiful and showing how much Ruby has summer in her but i think it will also dwell on her in the long run of how much they are compared to each other. Watts is a genius in having people think he is dead to be able to work in the dark. And working with Jacques makes it even all the wiser. Nuts and dolts!!!!! I love them 🥺❤💚. I love the montage at the start of Episode 5, especially with how it ends with the Team RWBY cuddle pile. And yes, Weiss, I see how you were the first to lean on Ruby. She’s so much more comfortable with her team, she can actually relax around them. Apparently, the upcoming game, RWBY: Arrowfell is set some time during that montage, which makes sense. The exact timeline is a bit ambiguous, but that part covers at least a few weeks, where no major plot developments happen. You could insert so many side stories in there, but the main plot must go on. And when it goes, it goes hard, so you’re wise to take a break here. Since you’ve brought up the Summer Maiden, I feel like saying, I feel very nervous thinking about what the deal’s going to be with them. I think it’s partly because we don’t really know anybody from Vacuo besides Sun, so there aren’t any obvious candidates for who is the current Maiden, or even who could end up inheriting the powers if something happens to the current one.

(She never said "How" when trying to come up with a plan, she thinks then acts) Having both Jaune and Ruby fawn over the Ace Ops was a little odd as well, seeing they've seen skilled huntsmen before. But I let those nitpicks be minor overall. I did really appreciate that they brought team FNKI into the mix again, seeing that they are in Atlas as well, and they are "strict, militant fighters". ;-) See ya next week! :-)

Yeah. Winter just happened to show up as Jacques was leaving. I wonder how that happened. lol They deserved their licenses. How many of the licensed ones have been so active in defeating grimm and minions of Salem? Most are policing the cities and taking care of minor grimm problems around them. All of them have done more than most huntsmen do in their entire career. Penny's swords used as knives. 🙄 Exactly the purpose they were designed for. I hope she kept them "clean enough to eat off of." Now she'll just have to clean them off from the cake and frosting. Yep. Jacques is now getting involved with Watts. They're definitely 2 of a kind. They're both as crooked as they come, in order to get what they want. Sweet. Training montage! Now Ruby can hold her "speed" form for much longer than she did before. Just last volume she could only do it for a few seconds. ORNJ as in Orange would work and is a color and Oscar is technically Ozpin so he'd be the leader. When he decides he wants to return, some day. Yeah, I wouldn't play poker with Clover. Especially since Qrow has bad luck and Clover has good. Clover would always win. Yes. Qrow gave up drinking. Something we're all glad to hear. I firmly believe that Summer Rose is alive. It's the quintessential "no body, no death." It could very well be that Summer is the Summer Maiden and after she became her, she realized how much of a threat that would be to her family so she went into hiding and cut all ties with them. She didn't want Salem to find out that she has a family so that Salem could use them against her. You know she loves to manipulate people into doing whatever she wants them to do. Since Salem doesn't know that Ruby is Summer's daughter, or possibly, even that Summer has become the Summer Maiden, then they can stay safe. Of course, Summer wouldn't know all that's happened with Ruby over the last couple of years. I've mentioned in earlier reactions about how I would like to see the series end, so I won't repeat it here. Can't wait to see your next reaction. P.S. If you haven't noticed, we've been cycling through the kingdoms and maidens as the story progresses. I believe that the summer maiden will be revealed sometime during volumes 9 to 10/11 then 11/12 onward will bring us full circle back to Vale and Beacon, as that relic is still there, which may end up being the finale

There isn’t much to analyze here but there are a few points. First, the most common moniker for our B team now, and it’s endorsed by Rooster Teeth, is Team ORNJ (Orange). Ironwood is taking supplies for Amity that were really meant to fix Mantle’s outer wall, and Jacques just took all their jobs away. So in some ways, they’re both doing the same thing - but no matter what Mantle’s getting the… shaft. The scene where Jacques starts manipulating Weiss by using her mom? It’s enraging, of course. But I do like how Blake, who is the person she’s been the most at odds with in her team because of the White Fang vs SDC narrative, is the first one to grab her hand. There’s also a narrative here that nobody probably understands what Weiss is having to deal with in this scene more than Blake, because she’s been manipulated by others herself. Which brings me to a very curious question. We know how you feel, but who’s bigger on the rage meter for you? Jacques Schnee or Adam Taurus? :)
