Hi this is a great review but a few things you missed 1. Ian Flynn has already said the Final Horizon DLC is the canon conclusion to frontiers 2. In the Sonic Letters Squad which a small ending synopsis which is written by a writer it mentions how they are taking a little brake which maybe alludes to after fang's defeat in superstars he realizes he was wrong about Bean and Bark.

I just checked the letters section, and yeah I saw that. They also said that it's possible that Fang's Gang might get back together again.

i can imagine sage wanting eggman to try and be a better father to belle but both he and belle are adamant that eggman and mr tinker are not the same person and belle being mad that eggman would make his own daughter

I'm glad it's over nothing but a vague resolution to keep the fans invested in a lavished adventure that leads into the unknown. Thanks for keeping us trapped in the void for as long as we wager this arc Sega. You really should put this with a warning label.... Welp Onwards, my friends.

The Warp Topaz would be a good explanation for Fang suddenly warping and cloning himself in Trip's Story.

Fang the hunter is a villain i didn't have for a long time in sonic universe. Finally a reccuring enemy who doesn't join to heroes, and never will be, he will only team up with them just like eggman, to solve common problem. I hope we will get comics events after superstars, where fang learns, after the way he treat Trip, which led to his downfall, he will develop, he's still remain as a villain, but he finally learn to treats his comrades better. He will regret for everything he made them threw, apologize for that, and when fulfills their wishes, redeem himself to earn their trust, and learn to listen them.

^ a commonly missed thing in "children's" cartoons and comics, Villains can undergo character growth without becoming good guys and they don't need to reset either. Eggman can become good father while still being ruthless and simultaneously a threat and a humorous guy, and honestly while more "adult" oriented think of the effect of such parenting, a parent whose good to their child but ruthless and awful to literally anyone else, rings like a mob boss story. You can really see what that would do to someone growing up under him where they basically pick and choose who they're nice to based around much more selfish lines of thought than the typical hero logic. Then you have guys who they grow and develop better friendships and individuals they like but who remain permanent threats. And of course this then leads to occasional team ups where the one person they don't want hurt is in danger. And a great TV example of this is the 90s era Spiderman cartoons, where Spiderman knew his rogues gallery on a more personal level and many of the villains would occasionally fight each other, endanger and target other villains over various things, and of course occasionally help Spiderman and the big issue for Spiderman was in balancing being a hero and his normal life as Peter Parker, but also in the fact that all these villains had their own thing going on from independent schemes to sudden life crises that lead to them taking drastic actions. If they can incorporate that with the "lesser" villains from IDW and the side games it'll help keep them all as legitimate threats without having to do the constant DBZ style power escalation. Heck IDW could even do a arc where several independent villain plots overlap and by sheer circumstance overwhelm Sonic by the sheer amount of nonsense he has to juggle from say Surge and Kit trying to muscle in and kill him, to Rough and Tumble trying to steal an hyper dangerous armory, and Metal going independent wanting to 1v1 Sonic and stealing Emeralds for the power boost, and then whatever Eggman's newest mcguffin is. And all of it happening at the same time.

I absolutely love the foreshadowing of the events at the very end of this miniseries to indicate that Fang goes solo from this day forward.

I'm still mad that if Emerald didn't get explained it's a real thing in Sonic the Fighters!?! Oh well, I'm just going to go with my original theory about then. Also we don't know who was the original lead to this 8th emerald adventure?! Also maybe sonic superstars plus will tell us how fang looses the warp topaz, who knows!🤔 My theory: The 8th chaos emerald cause by your clone character in Sonic the Fighters. Maybe that's why Sonic said there wasn't such a thing as an 8th chaos emerald because he knows the real truth. And maybe that's why we don't see the 8th emerald because Sonic destroyed his clone and took the emerald copy. Use it, and after that, it disappeared or disintegrated since the clone was dead. I think the fang mini series is going to explain what happened to it and why it's gone!

Well, I wanted some answers regarding the Warp Topaz, and unfortunately we never got them. Still, making it as an upgrade for the Marvelous Queen sounds interesting. And now that Fang knows how to control it, somehow, maybe it can help him in his future raids; until he losses it. I still believe that, in the near future, a young Starline will discover the Warp Topaz, thanks to exploring Eggman's old databanks, and he will find Fang. It was sad that the Hooligans separated, but it was all Fang's fault, he's too proud of himself that he doesn't understand that his teammates were just as incredible as he is; congrats on Bark for keeping up with the Heavy King, and Bean for his crazy bomb-astic stunts in defeating 2 Hardboiled Heavies. Maybe someday, when the time is right, we will see the Hooligans together again, but only if Fang makes up to Bean and Bark - we will have to see it in a future Classic adventure. Regarding the pre-Frontiers comics, the only way they could explore this idea is if they come up with something that literally disbands the Restoration; and thanks to a hidden plan by Clutch to takeover through Cleansweep Inc, this can be the catalyst for the heroes to say farewell to the base, and go back to the status-quo before Sonic Forces, which can lead to the Sonic Frontiers Convergence. I would love to see a time skip where we could see Sage interacting with more characters besides Sonic; that sounds interesting. Well, it's time to go back into the present, and with this next arc coming up, I can only ask for one thing: I want a new Sonic Riders game.

Really enjoyed the ending cause it highlights Fang's diregards for jis partners whoch, as we know, will bit him later in Superstars. Trating Trip the way he treated Bark and Bean (if not worse) will be his undoing.

Overall, a pretty fun miniseries. Fang, Bean, and Bark are fun as always. And seeing things connect to not only Superstars, but also the Modern IDW comics feels kinda satisfying to me. (Yeah, I was always fine with IDW being canon to the games now.) And as sad as it is to seen Fang's Gang split, I do wonder what trouble Bean and Bark will get into next. I also agree that we should get a time-skip to after Frontiers in IDW. Sage meeting Belle would be super interesting (and possibly heart-breaking).

i'd be completely for a classic series mini-series. :3 while i find it redundant going into superstars when we already had a prequel comic(that could've for that gone into trip and the black dragon's backstory.)/kinda would've liked the island at the end being a different place would be for trip in the idw comics(already were canon as idw happens before frontiers explaining why we haven't seen sage yet/implied metal sonic will be alright with her as final horizons is canon & is implied the next big 3d game will have a timeskip.) as i'd love seeing the full hooligans in the games as it felt missing. with how fang has the warp topaz wonder how that'll go in the knuckles series if he shows up outside obviously having to lose it in the cave it was in for starline to find.(unless those sonic channel 30th comics are canon would love that being how the gang somehow meet sticks with how frontiers mentioned her/feels like they want to salvage her from sonic boom.:3)

My theory for the Knuckles Anniversary Special is that we may see the Hooligans appear and reunite seeing as it's both Fang and the red echidna's 30th anniversary this year.

1. With SEGA trying to make the extended media (comics & cartoons) more connected to the games, it kinda makes sense they had IDW have the miniseries tie into Superstars. 2. Please call the “Fang Gang” the “Hooligans” again, they do go by that name as well sometimes. 3. Lets see Fang lose the Warp Topaz. -CVGWJames

I have an idea for that last one. Fang gathers his gang, under one condition, he ditches the Warp Topaz. Through shenanigans, it returns to its cave, but maybe the Hooligans get something out of it?

I like the ending. It makes the story feel more like a part of the lore. The series in general... it was fun as side quest. But its not something i would want constantly. Maybe like the annuals, a once a year type thing?

Wait this entire time. This has been a prequel to to Superstars. Which I did think would happen after the ending. IDW IS CANNON CONFIRMED. The Lore and Timeline about to be pretty diffrent

I truly like the idea that Sega tried to do here, but i could use a bit more work, still i think the story was good, also is they try this again, i hope when it comes to the time skip to adress the events in Sonic Frontiers.

I really wanted to see the IDW comics tie into Frontiers and the main game timeline, and now it seems like it'll actually happen! I can't wait to see all the possible storylines.

Hm, interesting conclusion, i wonder if any of this will be followed up upon in the future?m Also, i still would like to know, where did Fang here that rumor about a Eighth Chaos Emerald in the first place, i feel like the Number of Chaos Emeralds should be common knowledge, so what made him so confident? Anyway, with this out of the, i will look forward to see how the Main Series continues, i hope it doesn’t disappoint.

I think I’d like to see a one-shot or mini-series set after Sonic: Super Stars where Bark and Bean meet Trip and they become friends, maybe even form their own team. As for Fang, perhaps if Clutch needs someone to keep Rough and Tumble focused in the field in exchange for money, weapons, and upgrades for his ride. Fang could reform the Hooligans with those two if Bark and Bean are still fed up with him.

Three preludes to Sonic Superstars? I hope we get more DLC soon. 14:06 Wait, is that the Remote Robot from Tails Adventure? The Final Horizon is the canonical ending to Sonic Frontiers. I can't wait for Knuckles' 30th Anniversary Special. Our man need his own Year of Knuckles.
