That Sunflower looks like the first thing that Eggman tested the Metal Virus on...

I have a feeling that Mecha Sonic & Mecha Knuckles are gonna be the baddies cause Eggmans programming is wanting to raise again (with Mecha Knuckles never loosing his, and Mecha Sonic trying to restrain it), However E-117 Sigma may want to get Sonic & Tails off the island so as to prevent that from happening to stay peaceful. But until their plan is repaired, he has to play host & hope Eggmans evil programming doesn’t come back to all of them to be monsters again.

I personally hope that the sunflower belongs to Mecha, since we saw him in the room, and I would like to imagine that later down the line, the flower is used to bring him back to his passive mode. Ik it doesn’t make sense but it’s what I imagine

How crazy would it be if the actual Tails Doll shows up in this story? I mean we have Mecha Sonic and Knuckles, why not a creepy creation for a Halloween type story?

This is not gonna be the last time Sonic dives into the horror genre, it may happen again. Love the story so far…

I think Mecha Sonic may be the bigger threat in Scarpink Island since future solicitations mention it in all 3. Plus, it looks like Mecha Sonic may lose to it's kill Sonic programming

Theory time!!! Seeing the Egg Carrier made my heart skip a beat!! When I saw it my first thought was: are we going to see the remains of Gamma and the other E-100 robots (Beta, Zeta and even Zero)? Could there be any change of them being functioning? But reading the solicitations for the next issues only the three robots presented in this issue are going to be main focus, but the miniseries it could still end with a cameo of them, leaving a door open for future plots. As for the flower, I believe it could be one of the flowers from Little Planet, who worked as the power source for the badniks in Sonic CD, instead of animals. This leaves the question: how are powering up the Scrapniks? Do they still have animals inside or are using flower seeds? Also, with the return of Mecha Sonic and the Death Egg, is it possible that we could also encounter the broken remains of the original Mecha Sonic from Sonic 2? After all, it first appeared as the first boss of the Death Egg zone. Maybe, when Mecha Sonic Mk II kidnaps Sonic, he''ll throw him in the same room/chamber where Sonic fought the original robot. PS: I believe Mecha Sonic goes by Mecha Sonic Mark II now, ever since Sonic Origins got out.

The stage presented in this mini-series is amazing. This probably answers one of the many questions we have about the Sonic franchise: what happens to all the mechas, lairs and machines the heroes destroy? Everything is gathered in one place. The name Scrapnik Island and the reason of its existence kinda reminds me of our own made island - the Great Pacific Garbage Patch. I have some questions about the placement of this mini-series: - With the recent IDW timeline presented, where do you think this adventure takes place? - Do you think, after this adventure, Belle can use this place as a sanctuary?

Ok seeing mecha sonic from sonic 3 was a welcome surprise and mecha knuckles was an unexpected one as i thought we would be seeing metal knuckles And this seriously gives me planet junk and the junkions and scrap valley vibes. The planet junk and the junkions are from transformers and scrap valley from aosth (adventures of sonic the hedgehog) As for the sunflower maybe thats something left over from the metal virus or something

I think the inspiration for this mini series came from an episode of Adventures Of Sonic The Hedgehog, Sonic Gets Thrashed. The episode where Sonic and Tails visit Scrap Valley, a village of defective robots.

This story reminded me a lot of how fanfic writers would write a story and make it look like a horror story too. It was pretty good and spooky.

7:51 a little thing that most don’t know is that flower in the capsule is a little planet flower from Sonic CD which was the power source for the badniks in that game.

I didn’t think that Badniks could go neutral. Wonder what Eggman would do if he found the place.

The Scrapniks are exactly the sort of robots Belle vowed she'd help, those who Eggman abandoned and left to rust away. If things work out perhaps Tails, Belle, and the Restoration could set up a lab/base on the Island where the Scrapniks can get better repairs and make use of the old Eggtech there.

My only question is what became of the animals inside the bots, what are they even powered by?

When I saw the brace for sonic, I'm immediately reminded of the reverse bear trap

Ah, so that's how Tails' aviator helmet works. His bangs stick out of the middle hole. Also, I was expecting you to use the Death Egg Zone theme from Sonic 2 in your review. I was not disappointed. ;)

The Egg Carrier gives off Titanic shipwreck vibes, or more accurately the Bismarck. An elegant and powerful war machine reduced to a dark realm to rot.

When you said nothing good can come from a robot named Sigma I think you were referring to Sigma the main antagonist of the Megaman X series.

An amazing start, leaves a lot of mysteries for sure... Thought that flower, if I were a betting man, I'd wager on a last remaining Metal Virus sample. But since Silver said there were none left probably not...

my theory for the moment it that,yes sigma it hiding something but dont mean it something evil, it maybe aware of MS violence flip and try to keep everything in peace, that in fact,dont want any baddies to be harm, so it kind to sonic and tails so they can be kind to the baddies, the idea of all scrapnik being scared of sonic could work as a suversion of terror trope,intend of the hero being trap in a place of monsters,a monster enter a peaceful village.

They even brought back the weighted shoes concept from Sonic Labyrinth. Neat!

That red eye staring at Sonic definitely was the thing that was the mid-boss in the Death Egg zone in Sonic 3 & K

I genuinely can't wait to see the build up to a bigger problem that has to do with Eggman and maybe using Belle to spy or take control 9f her maybe and even with the whole Scarpnik Island robots too. I'm hoping by the end of this ordeal (battle) Belle decides to stay in that island and help out the robots on there.

Honestly this feels like a clever workaround to a no new characters rule. Like the recent paper Mario game. Obviously the comic is under no such restrictions but it’s a fun take as a self imposed challenge. That said I do seem to recall an island of badnicks storyline in Archie sonic.

I was completely shocked to see Mecha Sonic here. I assumed he was classic sonic Era only. This was a great comic. But it brings up a question that's been bothering me. Is every game happened for modern sonic, wouldn't that mean he's met Nack the Weasel, and Tails faced the Battle bird Cucco already?

If Mecha Sonic doesn’t say “I’ll crush you!” In this miniseries I will be very dissapointed

Without both his speed and his friends, Sonic is not so fearless; is he? It's times like these when Sonic's bravery is really put to the test. It's also the times when he fears for his friends that he shows his true self, that he cares.

Idk how I feel about this issue. I love the beginning and middle, but the ending felt lame. I love the spooky atmosphere and mystery, but then that quickly goes away and it turns out everything’s perfectly fine. It felt disappointing when that happened because this different atmosphere is what made this issue interesting, and it’s already over now. I don’t wanna see everything be all cheery and perfectly fine, we see that all the time. I wanna see something new and interesting, like Sonic struggling in a way he’s never struggled before. Trapping Sonic and cutting off his speed, leaving him genuinely struggling to fight and survive- that’s interesting. But it ends so quickly. I hope we get to go back to that creepy mysterious atmosphere, but now it might be too late for that because that air of mystery is gone. We now know what this place is and who these robots are. Without that mystery and confusion, this place isn’t going to feel that scary anymore.
