GuitarRazze my only real complaint is the way you have the drums playing, sometimes it doesn't go with the guitars and there's no punch. Other times it sounds fine but as with moth there were times when the altered drum pattern didn't do it for me.
Newer Metallica songs sound so much better like this. I don't get why all metal bands today are so obsessed with having a clean, polished and modern sound.
It's not that they're obsessed it's just that they miss the old sound of the 80's and 90's cause all music these days that's mostly popular is plain old auto tuned shit besides Metallica of course
Check out the band Evile if you want a great Metallica type Thrash band with awesome songs, riffs, and old school production. Flemming Rausmussen who did Lighting, Puppets and Justiced produced their first album. ;o) GREAT band.
This just perfectly fits in AJFA tone. It's just as intricate and tehnical as AJFA, yet it's so fast while having countless different riffs and solos, and all of them are great. If this was released in 1988, this would be considered as one of the greatest Metallica songs ever.
See that's the other problem with this album besides the horrible mixing and mastering. The songs are made up of some great riffs but they're just thrown together and there are too many parts. You could easily turn a lot of the riffs in to other songs and the tracks seem bloated and disjointed.
@@Syklonus i agree 100%, especially with all nightmare long and my apocalypse. that speedy riff kirk plays in my apocalypse imo could have been an entirely new song, they havent made a fast down picking song since blackened...
I could just hang myself at the thought of Lulu becoming a serious album...just kidding, I'm one of the few Metallica fans that actually liked Lulu. Unsurprisingly, I sold it to Decluttr and they only gave me 5 cents for it.
This does EVERYTHING to sound like "...Justice..." from the production/recording engineering to the Em key the actual guitar solos and drum patterns. One of the best of these types of RU-vid videos I've ever seen.
The death magnetic version is better, but it's cool to hear the song in this context. If this song was actually on and Justice for all, people would praise it so much. Because it's a modern Metallica track, people would obviously crap on it.
It has fuck all to do with it being a modern song. The reason people hate it is because it has possibly the worst production ever heard from a band at that level. The recording and mix quality is atrocious, and the mastering just killed it off completely. This isn't taking in to account that the songs are really bloated too. This re-record with the justice sound actually does improve the song, not because it makes it sound old, but becasue the guitar tone is much better and so brings the quality of the riffs out. Production is important in metal. Judas Priest, Testement, Saxon and all those old guys know this, and that's why they go to Andy Sneap to record and get a killer sound. None of the fans complained when Firepower was released becasue it was "new Priest".
@@Syklonus Why in the fuck is everyone a professional producer and knows how to mix songs. Maybe Metallica should have hired you. Half the Metallica fans are whiny little fucking know it alls
I really like how this sounds like its directly off of " And justice for all" Album ... the drums, Guitar, Bass all sounds legit from that album Great work
Ive always loved Death Magnetic-I could always imagine this, and say My Apocalypse being played alongside anything during their shows in the 80s. This utterly confirms it. The songs on DM were always brilliant-but with the classic metallica tone that gave their classic songs that magic in the first place kinda lacking on the album- Death Magnetic's full potential was unrealised. THIS IS HOW ITS DONE! Magnificent. Fucking Brilliant- Id LOVE to hear either That was just your Life , or My Apocalypse get this justified treatment. Incredible work, mate. Just Excellent.
I am a little up in the air on this one, 'cause I love the low tuning of this song ( Db live \m/ ) but here is NO DISPUTING that it sound better with that monstrous, steel-spitting tone from AJFA! ! ! ! Thank you so much for all these epic covers +GuitarRazze ! Can't wait to hear more of em, *& more of your awesome original work too!*
This mix proves two things: Death Magnetic is a great album and it sounds very similar to and justice since the beginning! It's almost pathetic do this cover because the sound is really close in the original album, especially in the first 4 tracks!
I love this, but its not quite the substantial improvement that Moth into Flame was. Maybe its just because I'm sooooo used to the original All Nightmare Long. It is actually one of my favorite Metallica songs as it was. I'd have loved to have heard vocals on here though. Oh well!
After listening this my thoughts where: "This song doesn't fit on ...And Justice For All, at all." I'm not saying that this was badly made. You made good job once again. But the song itself doesn't fit on Justice album.
james vocals right now wouldnt fit to rtl and neither would his vocals in rtl and neither the solo ANML is a song that only would fit the justice album structurewise but i think the song is best suited for DM and in DM just like how it was written -just a friendly opinion passing by
Something I pointed out in the teaser for this (and more are beginning to realize I think): The AJFA mix does make these sound a hell of a lot more savage. I would just say though, that most non-AJFA Metallica songs probably wouldn't fit with the rest of the album if one tried to imagine it, in that they don't go along with the theme of rhythm structures that are on AJFA. For instance, this song here probably wouldn't because it doesn't go by a lot of the "marchy" theme that a lot of the material back then went by. Dyers Eve was probably the closest to an exception, so any track like this, with the fast paced rhythms, would probably be best imagined as akin to that. If you can do a Metallica track that does have a more moderate, draggy, march-like rhythm, it would be perfect!
Man, I love these “if this song was on this album” kind of videos. I can now enjoy every single Metallica song 10 different ways! What a trippy and interesting trend to randomly take off
(Sorry for my English) I'm the one of "did anybody noticed" hahahahahah... So here I go... Did anybody noticed the riff of 1:03 to 1:04, 1:09 to 1:10 , 1:11 to 1:12, etc, sounds too similar to the riff in The Flesh and The Power It Holds from DEATH? Search The Flesh and the power it holds, in youtube, click in the first result, and go to the minute 2;34 to 2;35 for example, you will hear a similar riff but in an slow tempo.
1banana2kiwis through your ass?? hahahahhahahahahaha. I said that because the uploader usually mix things and do his own arrangements in the songs. Sometimes on purpose and sometimes not. When I hear it automatically reminds me of that riff in Death's song.
I didn't expect any DEATH fan here. Brother! But really? Those 6 notes? Within less than second? Too similar? If we are that much sensitive, then every metal song ever done is pretty much the same song over and over again.
Yeah you're right. But this guy do his owns arrangements on the songs, that's why. Maybe it is on purpose. And yes, a DEATH fan hehe! I'm not a Metallica fan anymore since AJFA but. I came here for obvious reasons hahahahhahahaha!
Why only AJFA style for all Metallica songs?? I think Death Magnetic deserves to sound like Black Album more, not AJFA. If you can do The Day That Never Comes in Black Album style than it can be perfect, thanks :)
Haaa, to me Death Magnetic sounds like the Black Album but with ULTRA GUTS. As for the sound or production, i assume it would be awesome on to achieve.
