Eazy E How is that being a simpleton? "love is a four letter word" has absolutely no meaning other than exactly that. It isn't a metaphor, it isn't a hyperbole, it doesn't even rhyme. They've made meaningful, powerful lyrics, like those in their first 5 albums. This is just a shite song (lyrically, the music is fine).
Just listen to Maiden; They never stopped doing it. And that's basically where it came from in the first place. James and Kirk listening to Maiden when they were young.
danutd94 I wouldn't say especially but it definatly contributes. The tone of the song and the length are what made me hear it. The video especially, but i just meant the song tones.
And I always thought One was a continuation of Fade to Black. I guess all three start off as calm ballads but then explode into mind blowing riffs and solos.
One is way more similar to Fade though. It's basically a rehash of the same idea, with different melodies. And slightly different chords. But I still like Day, one of the better 2000s tallica songs, but can't really compare to One or Fade if you ask me.
@5:35 God damn, the way the rhythm guitar transitions from power chord chugging to straight playing the same higher harmonies octaves lower is just damn good writing. And the ...And Justice tone really makes it astounding.
The riff at 4:18 is essentially a riff from AJFA to begin with. There’s quite a few on Death Magnetic like that. The verse riff on The Judas Kiss is another.
For what it's worth, this is a gorgeous rendition of an already melodically pleasing song. Well done transforming it into something so different yet so familiar.
If SUICIDE AND REDEMPTION was on AND JUSTICE FOR ALL.... You know like To Live Is To Die or Orion or The Call Of Cthulu , part of the good old instrumental ones
Well, I can't thank you enough for these AJFA versions, man! Along with the Metallica 1983-1988, now I can listen to all these songs that I would never play otherwise.
Please do "If St. Anger was on ...And Justice For All" perhaps in its original tuning. But we'll finally have a snare that DOESN'T sound like a trash can, hence why I like to call St. Anger "Snare Anger".
As a fellow guitarist, I have to say you are really talented. Justice is also my favorite album. I would love to hear the much maligned and wrongly misunderstood St. Anger album in the sound of AJFA. Keep up the good work!
Maybe that way people will stop going to the st. Anger videos to complain about a lack of solos instead of just enjoying the song that their looking up lol
man im in love with this shit and the nightmare video.... now you no you gotta do that was just your life....my apocalypse..... and broken beaten and scarred.... gotta have those tracks
I know this has strictly been a thrash operation so far, but eventually I'd LOVE to hear some St. Anger tracks with Black Album production sound. My World, Shoot Me Again, Some Kind Of Monster... the massive, crushing guitar tone of Black Album would make those songs sound even more Pantera than they already do!! As for the thrash stuff, here's some stuff I'd like to hear: - That Was Just Your Life with ...And Justice For All sound - Harvester Of Sorrow with Master Of Puppets sound - Broken, Beat & Scarred with ...And Justice For All sound - Fight Fire With Fire with ...And Justice For All sound - For Whom The Bell Tolls with ...And Justice For All sound - The Struggle Within with ...And Justice For All sound
