The positive aspect of getting rid of headphone jack is that they can put more things into the phone and everything is getting slimmer and more wireless. It´s a step into the future, Motorola did the same thing and nobody complained. But Apple did and everyone is so cringy.. I´m not a Apple fanboy but everyone is overracting because nobody wants to change and yet still have more awesome things. What I want in a smartphone is really, really good battery. Skip the lithium batteries, use new tech wich we have and use better batteries, better camera in smartphone etc. Higher resolution on Iphone screen and much better color even though the colors are great already. push the limits more and make the smartphone even smarter, but ofc this will have a great cost of battery life and therefore better batteries which is not lithium will last better.

They didn't remove it to add more function, they removed it because it was the only way to make the device slimmer then it already is. They only store data that you specifically want them to store, and even then it's stored in an encrypted format, so they can't do anything with it. Google on the other hand admittedly uses all your data to construct a personal profile that's highly valuable for them to target their advertisements.

It’s not the actual Note 7’s of Samsung that are igniting, its only certain batteries that came from a certain (unnamed) manufacturer. If Samsung had not copied Apple and instead kept the option of a removable battery, there would be no need for a Samsung recall. They could just tell users to buy new batteries and the problem would be solved. In other words, the same thing happening to Samsung now could happen to any company that does not allow for removable batteries….including Apple.

There is a recall on the Note 7. If you have one of the faulty models, you are in luck after all. Samsung have improved with the way they handle their recalls.
